Im a huuuge Le Mans fan and loving racing here, but sadly i very much doubt i can make this on the actual LM weekend  :'(  Besides, i do wonder if your flogging a dead horse as a grid of 10 cars around this track will be sadly woeful  :(

Having said that, have a good race  :P if i can be there i will, but very doubtful.

I don't think I have ever made an official SRouk Le Mans race so will be missing the iRoc one to do it. I'm sure Adam will give me some grief for that!!

RSR here i come  8)

Yep, sorry about that. I thought that may be the case with some drivers but, at the same time it is probably the best time maximise the grid size due to hype of the real event. Or, that was my reasoning anyway.

Besides, i do wonder if your flogging a dead horse as a grid of 10 cars around this track will be sadly woeful  :(

It is always about the challange of meeting the chequred flag in an endurance event such as this.  :)

Good man! ;D

More info on weather soon. Current forecast has been possibility of rain most days this week but, it looks like it could be dry by the weekend.

INFO ON THE WEATHER - Not essential reading but, you may be interested. :)

I have put the server on changeable weather with practise session 1 having some rain and practise session 2 and qauily 1 being dry with 18 degrees ambient temp.

I created the weather file using the same weather generator that will be used for the race. It makes all the sessions have the same weather so I did change the weather for practise 2 and qualy 1 by hand so that we could have a bit of fully dry practise as well as changeable conditions. During Sundays race all sessions will have the exact same weather so we know what is coming up in the fist 20 mins or so.

The weather files was created using wunderground.com as a guide. There is a link above.

If you scroll down the page a bit to the blue bar that says 'Forecast', in the forecast box at the bottom it says 'View detailed hourly forecast', click on that to open up the detailed weather view. This is the page from which I will be obtaining the weather info.

In order to create the weather file currently in use, I looked at the temps from 2pm to 4pm today. 18 degrees to 16 degrees. I looked at the current conditions (this bit was taken from the first page actually) to set the start conditions and then looked at the forecast conditions for the next few hours. It said at the time current conditions dry and sunny with 30% chance of rain and 0.51mm precipitation (light rain).

I set the weather generator to 100% chance of rain to make sure we had some for testing but, if we had these conditions on Sunday I would put 30% chance of rain.

So, temps were taken from earlier in the day when it was actually 2pm at Le Mans but start conditions and chance of rain and expected rain level were taken at the time that the weather system was run. This is how I will be doing it on race day.

The forecast that the weather system gives is not 100% accurate (on purpose), the forecast breaks the session down into 3 parts, early, mid and late race conditions. Each session forecast is less exact than the last so late session forecast will be more inexact than early session forecast.

The forecast that the weather gen system made for the file currently in use on the server is as follows:
Weather: Dry and sunny
 On line: Dry
 Off line: Dry
 Ambient: 18.00
 Track: 21.15
 Early Conditions:  Dry
 Mid Race Conditions:  Light rain
 Late Race Conditions:  Dry

I will give this forecast on race day shortly before the race starts. I hope to get this forecast info on the server by 7.30pm Sunday.

Hope to make this one. My previous races at LM have not gone well, so I'll be trying for a better show this time.

The Bitty is very fast, even topping out down the straights around 180mph but i think the fuel economy might hinder it somewhat, getting 14L per lap :o Couple of secs a lap slower in the 997 but tyrewear isnt brilliant on the rears with the fronts barely warming up!

Lol I thought the same thing, but I decided to record F1 to watch when we finish  ;D

Not having driven this track much I don't have a reference point for times, done a 4:18 in the F430 & 4:09 in the Bi-turbo, which I think I'll use (although I do recall I broke alot of these when I was racing before!!!!!!) but as I say I don't know if those times are competitive or not?

4:03 - 4:04 is a good time to aim for. I have done more laps on this track than any other in the past, I love it. :)

My setup has 15% power in diff, 60% coast in diff and splitter 2 and wing 4 on both the Panoz and the M3 if that is any help.

Here is my setup for the BMW M3:
http://www.gamefront.com/files/20430299/H_L_M3GT2_LeMans_R_svm

You may want to try soft front tyres and mess around with roll bar and brake bias settings to get it to suit you more. Also increasing the coast in the diff up to 90 and decreasing the power in the diff down to as low as 10 and putting the pre load as high as 3 may also help.

I recommend using GTR2 XD for this race to watch engine health and choose tyres while still on track:
http://www.vitumo.de/

Remember Michelin runners, if we have some rain the intermediate tyre is not so good, you will need to push the dry or wet tyre quite far into a changer over period.

NOTE

When pitting, do not request pit stop until at least half way around the track. If you request your stop sooner, the crew will go back in the garage before you get to them.

Weather forecast updated, see 1st post.

Do any drivers want a delayed start to see what happens with the F1? I have no problem with watching it iPlayer later my self (if they actually get going ::)).

Gutted.

Good turnout & feeling confident of a decent race. We did the pace lap & on T4 of 1st flying lap... everyone disappears & I lose connection :'(

Especially gutted when I immediately notice as i return to desktop that my wireless was enabled >:(

was in the 2m05s consistently in testing but in quali i managed to ruin every lap and qualify near the back  :(

start immediately proved the 911, or more specifically my setup for it, was not quick enough in a straight-line :-\. The higher aero helped me gain it back in S3 but it was harder to overtake.

Sorry goldtop for not being able to avoid you  :-[ i didnt realise your car was that out of control and going to come round, thats why i kept my foot in... in hindsight i should have lifted  :-X

About a third of the way through the race i was running 10th, last place, as about 5 people had retired. Had been about a consistent 10 secs behind APEX when my computer froze braking at the end of the Mulsanne, and then unfroze with me bouncing off the tyre wall  :(

shame because i was happy to carry on even last  ::)

Took the beemer, thought to have not much used car. Turned out it was very well used. :D What was a good turnout proved to be less so quite quickly. too bad. Had some chasing with Lazlow, Prof and SRW, though I was mostly alone. To big a track for 10 drivers. :-\ Symbolical value was quite ok though. :)

Erm, weather was dry. Is the clever weather file better now or too dry to use in the League? :)

No problem...it would have been very difficult to avoid hitting me as I was already out of shape.

Took the normal RSR with a 1:3 wing setup which was great fun and surprisingly controllable once I got used to it (or so I thought  ::)) Gutted to have crashed out on the first flying lap again as I was hoping my 1 stop strategy would see me well for the last part of the race.

Lost the rear wing and limped back for repairs having a few spins along the way. Car was horrible after so I bailed out. Only bonus was I got to watch a thrilling 35 laps of the F1  8)

Results will be done soon. Can VDA Ayrton4_94 give me his user name for simracing.org.uk web site so I can add him to the results please. :)

Great race. :)

I was happy with my pace in qauly and I thought that I may get an easy ride in this event but, it was not to be.

I made a good gap to position 2 early on but, I could not get the gap over 7 seconds. Mantios and Ayrton did not allow it. ;D

I took an early stop for some fuel and after I was back on track, I realised that many drivers were going to attempt a one stop strategy. At this point I was worried that I would not be able to challenge for the win. I started to get back through the field and made my way back near the front and after a while I saw Mantios, Ayrton and Riccardo Piccinini pit. At this point I thought I could still challenge for 2nd place at least but, I knew that after my 2nd pit stop it would be very close. Sure enough I came out just a few seconds in front of Ayrton but, he was soon on me and I was really feeling the pressure now. I drove side by side with Ayrton down the first straight in to the Play station corner but, he out braked me and was through.

I started to make a few mistakes at this point and had to have a little talk to my self to keep calm. ;D

To my surprise Mantios, Ayrton and Riccardo Piccinini soon went into the pits for a 2nd stop but, Daniele Scarpa did not. Me and DS had a good lead on all the other drivers at this point and it was really hard to keep concentrating. I could see that I was loosing a lot of time, I think due to lack of tyre grip after not changing tyres in any of the stops.

I was then gifted the win when DS made a mistake and then pitted before the final lap.

It was a lot of fun for me with some good fights with several drivers, not thinking I could win then having the tables turn and having to concentrate so hard to stay on pace with the VDA drivers. :)

When taking on fuel in the stop you can fill to 100L at normal refuelling speed but, 100 - 130L seems to take a lot longer to go in. I think that by taking 2 stops and filling only to 100L each time could have won me the race.

Thanks for attending all. :)

Erm, weather was dry. Is the clever weather file better now or too dry to use in the League? :)

It was only 40% chance of rain in the forecast at 7.30pm UK time so that is what I used for the weather file. The current conditions according to weather underground were 'dry with cloud' at 7.30pm UK time.

The forecast that I gave from the weather system (designed to give more detail of generated weather than just real life forecast) said 'overcast' for early conditions and 'dry' for mid and late race conditions:

The weather gen system decided to not have rain. The forecast it gave can only be out by a small degree so light rain could have been possible early on in the race but not mid or late race when it said dry. It could still have been overcast in mid and late race but, not raining.

I just set the parameters and did not look at the file before uploading to the server. If we wanted rain for sure we should have used 100% chance of rain. You can see details on the weather system and even download it for your self here:
