Not keen to lose my Ferri slot full time, but I will be away for this round, and possibly the next.

Thanks for letting me know Matt, I'll keep it reserved for Ricard and Silverstone.

Thanks a lot Bernie  ;D ;D ;D I will try these cars in Mexico 88 just to see my pace with the add-on cars.

Just one question Gt. In the NoGrip download link, there are 2 folders in the .rar. I installed only the add-on car folder ("F188 missing teams"), but not the talent files. Do I have to install even the "F188 Talent Files" folder? If yes, which is the right route to install it? I don't see any talent folder in this mod, so I was a bit doubtful on where I have to place these files and if I need to do it ???
I would like to avoid any mismatch with the other files. Thank you :) :)

Not really sure atm  :-\ I have 2 installs, one with the "missing teams" talent files and the other without, so I'll check if it throws up any mismatches tomorrow and post back.

Practice server is up.

It will be off between approx. 19:15 and 22:00 this evening for the GTL event.

Please try to check everything is working for you before tomorrow's race.

The new talent files appear to be identical to the ones we all have already.

The talent files don't appear to be causing any problems whether they are installed or not, so I believe we'll be ok.

If anyone has the chance to do some times in the new cars around Montreal I'd be interested to see the results. Just had a quick blast in a very roughly setup Tyrrel and I'm the same speed as in my well practised Benetton at low 1:21s  :-\

Tomorrow I have an exam, so I won't be able to practice until tomorrow evening. I remember this track cause I used to race in it with Geoff Crammond's GP2 ^ ^, but I raced on it only once with GTR2, and it was more than 3 years ago!

At least I have a good memory... so I hope to be able to avoid those damned walls  ::) ::)

Cu :)

Mid 1.22's in the the Tyrrell  , was going to use the Larrousse but couldnt manage better than a 1.25 which was a bit drastic compared to the 1.19's in the Ligier.

Did about 20 laps at server.. Solid into low 1:21's with race fuel hard tires..  Got a couple good clean laps in the low 1:20's. Was too tired for a low fuel, soft tire run.

tried GTL but even the Revival Edition is not working with Win7... very confused  :-[

Just had a quick blast in a very roughly setup Tyrrel and I'm the same speed as in my well practised Benetton at low 1:21s  :-\

anyhow.... down to 1m22s in the Benetton so anything within 1 sec of GT i'm happy  :) ... is that race pace GT?

Yep 1:22s seem to be about there. I'm a little slower online than my 1:21.1 best offline time....struggled to get into 1:21s in my few laps last night.

McLarens and anything else with a turbo will be quite a bit quicker though I think, but it is easy to lose time or indeed lose it all together. Evidence Sunday's RL epic.

Glad it won't be raining  :)

great cheers, i just be a bit more consistency now. At least the AI are not too bad round here.

Downloaded a nice little app which you can edit engine files with. It also produces the bhp and torque graphs. I wanted it to see the difference in engine power between the cars and also when best to shift.

http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=10153 (http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=10153)

Obviously I won't be editing my engine... i get enough mistmatch issues as it is  ;) but I thought I'd just show the top engines power - quite some differences !

Honda - 672 bhp
Ferrari - 647 bhp
Megatron (bmw) - 645 bhp
Judd - 605 bhp
Cosworth DFR - 586 bhp  :'(

That's interesting :sleep1:

Joking apart, I'm not up on torque curves and max bhp bands but the Benetton does seem to deliver pretty smoothly whereas the turbos do tend to be more rpm dependant which I guess is the case in RL.

More evidence (if it were needed) to the attention to detail which has gone into this mod by it's maker(s).

Great fun that race. Pleased to get within two seconds of Pole position but was still down in 13th  ::). My race was consistent, with only a couple of errors to speak of, but my pace was atrocious in the latter half of the race when I chewed my tyres to pieces. Might be something to do with having such a high steering angle. Had a great battle with Manteos for most of the race, but I must have driven him up the wall with my slow cornering speed, only to pull away on the straight  :).

Pleased to have made the finish again. I can just about keep the car in one piece for a race. Now all I have to do is find a bit more pace. See you all at the next one.

Was a good track for Arrows. Oh, until you see tyre wear. ::) Had to pit, my (hard) tyres were 22 worn at half.  :-X
Quali was crap, all my brakepoints disappeared with the inverse skidmarks. >:( Started from 8th and got to 4th in the end, a few seconds behind battling Legzy and H@l. Seems like they had Pirelli tyres then also. :P

Quali was crap, all my brakepoints disappeared with the inverse skidmarks. >:(

yeah that threw me completely!! Especially the last chicane where I was weak anyway!!

Well quali surprised me to be 6th out of 15.... a steady start in the initial laps and then touched the inside kerb of the second chicane and backwards into the wall  :-\  My setup was too stiff and the car was being thrown off the bumps but I felt I needed something nervous to be quick... and it was over one lap but too much hardwork for the race. Lesson learnt.

After a 3 min pitstop for a new rear wing (can replace them but not wheels lol) I continued and had a 'B' race with Dan and then GT but Dan spun out and I replicated my accident on the second chicane and called it a night. Shame after the amounts of practise!!!

Benetton was semi-competitive here, just wished i sorted out the suspension more for the bumps.

Grats Narvin on another nicely driven win  ;)

Joined late not wanting to let you guys down!
Set up was ok but obviously running too much wing but no time to change..
Suprised myself in quali!
Race was going well but after missing my braking point into the last chicane I decide to pit!
Took ages! then a very minor super slow spin left me with no front wing so limped back to the pits again! :(
Was a lap down with no one else left behind and eventually called it a day!
Good fun, great circuit. Wish I'd had more time to do it justice :)

Nice race. :)

I had several good fight with Blunder, Manteos, SRW, Legzy and a few others. I had to pick my way past carefully as I was faster in the corners and not on the straights. The fight with Blunder at the start and Legzy at the end were especially difficult. I was fighting Legzy for several laps towards the end and with about 2 or 3 laps to go I lost it trying to go side by side with Legzy at a dodgy point in the track. It ended badly for me but, luckily I was able to continue at least. Legzy would have got me on that last straight anyway, I needed to get a big gap to prevent that and with such worn tyres, it was not going to happen met thinks. ;D

Sorry to SRW if we had contact. I have not had a chance to check the replay yet.

Excellent race series this. :)

no problem H@L,
not sure if we made contact, i saw you coming up behind me to the left in my mirrors, then you went into my blind spot, i didnt try looking left as these f1 cars are so fast i would have probably just crashed, so i just tried hugging the corner incase you were alongside me, probably got on the grass on the inside.

Apart from that was a good race, i didnt have much time to practice so didnt realise you could do a whole race on one set of tyres so i had planned for a pitstop with tyres and fuel, so ended up wasting time with a pitstop

Always like running at Montreal :). One of the easiest tracks to get up to speed with as it's basically a point and squirt kind of track. As far as how the race went it was a dream drive for me as I used once again Manteos setup for Mexico with a little gear and wing adjustment. It was great for the whole run. I ran consistent 1:21's for every lap except for my fast lap and the last 6 which were still solid 1:22's. Being you aren't in the corners here for very long tire wear was by far the best I've had in this series so far. Got the "tires worn" warning on the last lap which was a surprise as I usually get that around 1/2 to 2/3rds through a race. Anyone else having tire wear problems might try reducing your steering angle/ratio a bit. Andy has graciously agreed to swap cars with me for the last 3 races so pending Bernie's approval I'll be in the Benetton for the last 3 races. Also, Congrats to Legzy and Hal for their solid podiums finishes.
