Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=318&theme=5)

Special Notes: Some of the cars have a "Modern Compound" tyre choice. Can I ask that all drivers do not use these tyres please.

Thanks Tony.  In sounds nice, in total ecstasy now.  My Real GTL test driver's response to "turn noise down" was to get his Bose Hi Fi earphones and use them.  The difference between that an my old Creative Arts sound system was fantastic, the sound was much sharper, richer and the difference between models much more pronounced.  The Alfa GTA is real nerve tingling now.

I've now bought a reasonably priced pair of Sennheiser earphones, changed various Audio values and the start of the Hungaroring sounded awesome.  I can hear the other cars overtaking now as well.  Certainly improved my racing experience and of course causes no dometic tension.

I always race with headphones on. My rig is in the same room as our main telly so I can race and not disturb Mrs Wiltshire  :-*

I use a pair of Sennheisers HD570's which cost me about £90 many years ago. Still sound sweet however. I bought new foam ear pads about a year ago as the originals were well worn.

Yes, bad enough on my own. Porsche 908-2 went airborn on one lap.

Results and replay now posted.

The reason the headlights do not work on the Porsche 908-03 is simple. It has no lights  ::)

That's why I said that in the chat. ;)

If I look at the "standing charts" I find out that the 908/3 is not integrated in the "GTL Group P3.0" class.  :)

Race report will follow later.

My race followed what seems to me a developing pattern. Practice and qualification set new PBs and then during the race circumstance cause me a DNF.

Made a good start and started to pull away from the less powerful cars when got involved in a collision going up the mountain in the second tighter left hander.  As I exited Mark and a yellow car were blocking the track and I didn't even have time to react giving Mark a good old thump. After that I found the car was understeering, the hard way thumping the mountain side, which made the car worse until I went off at the left hander at the end of Conrod straight and made a right mess of things. Went into pits to get things fixed but my pit crew had gone home and that was the end of my race.

PS

Had to quickly finish this post originally as, she who must be obeyed, gave the ready call.  As she'd spent half the morning preparing and cooking lunch I had to depart rapidly otherwise I'd have been in the soft stuff.

This curtailing meant I omitted my apologies to Mark. In one of my crashes along the mountain before Conrod Straight I was broad side trying to turn around and collected him.  I think it was on this occasion I took off over the hill crest resulting in my big nasty.

Strange as it may seem but I thought this track really suited the cars. I loved driving that Lola Maserati as it seemed to have so much power on the straights. Unfortunately I did collide with a lot of the scenery on the twisty bits which slowly reduced the resale value of my vehicle. What with huge tyre wear (and I was on on hards) and my in-race aero restyling efforts the car was not guaranteed to stay on that narrow tarmac strip and so it was that on the very last lap I wondered off into the countryside.
Everyone was blisteringly quick especially Eiffel who I had for company for a lot of the race.
Well done everyone who turned out, I think Legzy will have to be surgically separated from that Healey soon, try something else mate, go on.
And boy don't those Chevron's motor  :o Oh and huge commiserations to Geoffers whose car was heaven bound when he discoed by the looks of it as I passed underneath it on the long straight

With very little pracci and a track I've avoided like the plague never driven before, I was quite surprised how nice these cars were round here. Decided on the Chevron BMW and just used my Interlagos setup with lengthened gears which seemed ok except in the tight section. Used quali to fine tune my race setup and ended up with lengthened gears and much stiffer arbs which helped.

Enjoyed driving the Chev but didn't really have anyone to race with so keeping concentration was the main concern, which I mostly managed ok. I had my tabs switched on, so I had a bit of warning and just about avoided Matt and Eifel (I think) in the middle of the track after their coming together which woke me up.

These events deserve and need a bigger turnout. As it is, the 3 class format makes it difficult and confusing for me to choose a car and prepare properly for a race for which I don't know who will turn up and in what class.  :-\

But your right, a few more names would be nice.

Unofficial LapChart (http://www.justanotherpage.nl/Srou/GTL/Bat67Jul11/)
(Tested)

First an apology for the technical issues at the start. I pushed for the McLaren and caused some conn problems.
Should have read the announ more carefully... my mistake  :(

Wanted to drive the MacL to see if I could tame it. Messed with the setup so it didn't oversteer when I even looked at the wheel but forgot to test with full fuel load...
so I buttom-ed out hugely at the hilly straight  ;D
At the first part Legzy entertained me with some driving leassons in the Healey and then it was 'just' keeping the car on track.
Saw some great overtaking manoeuvre by WT who went past Legzy's car on the grass chicaning a tree  :D

Lovely cars, good series.. what more can I say than congrats to Eifel with his first victory!

But your right, a few more names would be nice.
Noticed your good looking announcement posters. Maybe we can draw some attention to this series with a banner beneath the posts?

Yeah really enjoyed that at the start Alex & so waited a couple of times to extend it. But I gradually got to grips with the combo & decided to push on.

But two of the funniest moments of my sim racing history last night:
1) As Alex said, Tony mounting a bank (on a straight) & chicaneing a tree to lap me
2) Think it was the same lap, Tony typed "lol" & I glanced up to read it, I nearly pooped myself as I suddenly zoomed under a frozen car & immediately missed my braking point 7 over shot, while laughing

I don't know what to say other than, that was GREAT!
That Healey Repco is rapidly becoming my favourite ever sim car :-\
Regards the track, there's something about Bathurst, I always struggle here & tonight was not the 1st time I've had to pit here 5/6+ times (::)), but I definitely preferred this version to the one we've used before. Felt awesome despite my result.

Nice one Tony 8)

Completely new feeling for me!

A lucky win, after all favorable conditions got together for one time.

Some of the “fast guys” weren’t there, others choose slower cars.
Bathurst is one of my favorite tracks (in fact I like the version of frankf55 even more),
I choose the right car (from motorsport history I knew that the 908/3 was nearly unbeatable
on tracks like Nordschleife or Targa Florio – 1970 and 1971 – and raced with success after some
modifications up to 1982) although I never drove none of these cars in simracing before.
Luckily I found a suitable setup and finally Geoffers left the race with almost one lap in the lead.

I found myself totally surprised with this sudden lead after lap 21 but fortunately made no momentous
mistakes and the 908/3 was so dominant - even in my hands - that I was able to build up distance to
goldtop.
So it was possible that a lousy and slow driver like me was able to compete and win – although
the time gap after qualification between me and the fastest (Geoffers) was over 4 seconds which actually
is standard.

One time wonder – I fear.

After I realized during first half of the race that I probably would not be lapped more than once I had to
have an eye on my fuel consumption because I had only fueled for 29 laps.
Apart from that only some smaller incidents and surprises during the race without further consequences.
Was great fun.

Thank you all for your sportsmanship during the race – as I’m not able to use the quick chat buttons
due to the requirements of my desk and the 908/3 obviously has no headlights.

Will see what will happen during next race of Three Makes Challenge at Bathurst again on 01 August…
 ;)
