Time of Day Setting: 16:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk WPC
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=318&theme=5)

Special Notes: Some of the cars have a "Modern Compound" tyre choice. Can I ask that all drivers do not use these tyres please.

Yea I know, spent about 4 years (in the 1967 to 72 period) dealing with BAe Warton and stayed in St Annes or Blackpool when visiting. Remember drinking there one night when some RAF aircrew introduced our French Colleagues to Newcastle Brown - retaliation for their long lunches with a bottle of white wine and a bottle of red each.

Bad luck Alex.

I found my self in a big gap and lost motivation on around lap 20ish. Again, a shame these races aren't attracting more drivers/

BTW I parked it and started having a surf round then lost connection, or I would have waited to the end to leave. Not sure if it was the usual disco or not.

Tough break Alex, I was looking forward to our duel. GT you were shown as DNF and parked in the pits. Syd you were too fast and Pelle, well done on swopping cars at the last moment and still going like a bat out of hell.

These races need more drivers.

Replay and results now posted.

Sorry fellas I thought I'd make it for this one but I had a surprise visit from my Sister and Brother in-law this morning. They were dropping there daughter off at college yesterday and thought they would swing by for a short visit. Added 3 hours to their total trip so it was very nice they made the effort to get here ;D Cheers boys

Too bad NRJ, but I know it with family...they don't understand us & how important our race is  ;D
...& Alex, how unlucky can you be? I first discovered you were away on the start line. My new connection is incredible, not a single outcome from the time I got it a week ago...think that it would take 5 years before the line was good  ::)
GT: Never give up, but yes...here was a bit empty.

Practice:
I was forced to take a 'bad' car & my choice was to test a McLaren, but after 2 days & the rear tyres were still red after just a lap...I had to give up  >:(

Qual:
Threw me into a Chevron Ford & it ran much better with the default setup than McLaren after 2 days and countless setups  :o ...but discovers GT is in Chevron BMW & is much faster...& now Alex says I must select Chevron Cosworth, even faster ?
Sry, but I disconnected again & choose Cosworth  :D Unfortunately, the setup does not match the Ford's, but I discover in qual it may take more air in tires & gearbox is completely wrong...oops, time has run out & I do not manage to put sixth gear  :-\ Thx for tip Alex

Race:
I was really surprised in the race, the car could run fast...imagine if I had spent time in this car instead of at McLaren.  ;) Tony, You can not dream about how I struggled with the car, but it was fun...especially when I am lucky to be number 2 in this way.
I knew in the race engine temp was high...but it is afterwards for replay I can really see how much trouble I had...& put a lot of smoke on the track 'sry' hehe...engine & tires kept entirely to the checkered flag.  :P

Grats SydDrake & Ramsay  :thumbup1:

Unofficial LapChart (http://www.justanotherpage.nl/Srou/GTL/IstSep11/)

Thanks guys.

Laptimes were not far apart Tony, so could have been nice battle.

PB: Chevron Cosworth is a tricky car but can fight the higher class. Glad you liked it.

Still think it is a great mod and hope that it will attract some more drivers. It deserves more attention than this.. or are the cars too difficult to drive? Dunno really  ???

Will be thee next time!

PS. Tony, will this race count for races run in the P3.0 class for me?

No it won't. You never made it to the starting grid.
