Drivers are reminded that the maximum number of drives in any group is five.

Time of Day Setting: 16:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk WPC
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=318&theme=5)

Special Notes: Some of the cars have a "Modern Compound" tyre choice. Can I ask that all drivers do not use these tyres please.

I just tried Matra at this track, and I really liked it. Are there any base setups for these cars out there?

Don't think so. The default setups are usually pretty good tho. I just tweak them to suit personal taste and circuit.

I'm a little unsure...cars in groups should be used only 5 times, but there are free elections at Le Mans. Does that mean Le mans do not count ?

You can only race in each group for a maximum of 5 times. THIS INCLUDES LE MANS.

ALL CARS will be available for selection at Le Mans

Everyone went after 10 laps? Or just me :'(

Not that much fun being that far off the pace and stuck on my lonesome anyways. Always next time :)

I managed 19 laps before discoing!  :'( I'm on the point of giving up racing, I rarely get to the end of a race recently, just cannot figure out why my internet keeps disconnecting during races.  :cursing:

I'm experimenting with my lobby connection choice. I tried LAN tonight and it seemed to be fine for me.

Bad luck Geoffers and Ian. Connections do seem to be a bit hit/miss lately for lots of us. Wonky server?  :-\

Really enjoyed driving the Chevron again tonight. A great handling car which meant that I hardly put a foot wrong, a good job too as I had Syd within pouncing distance all race.

Congrats to Pelle and Navin who looked like they had some good fun up front  8)

You might want to have a word with your ISP, explain what you use the internet for & tell them when the issues started & ask them if they can help (or else!)? :-\

First, shame again more dropped by the server with connection problems, but I myself have been in the same situation where everything feels hopeless & can only say: Don't give up...a week ago I was close to losing the race & today, no problems.
Yes GT, we had fun in front...sin no more selected 512S.  ??? Big grats to NRJ & GT...& to all of you.

I fought like crazy with the setup, rear tires came in red on one lap...& gearbox teased me. When I finally (thought I) had a good gearbox, NRJ was much faster  :D Tried with NRJ box, but could not find the right rhythm in turns. Went back to my own & change in TOE & more...unfortunately the practice time run out & I had to test in qual...with race fuel (36Laps) Perfect setup...a little weird so small changes & so much from failure to YES.
One thing I did not get tested, tire wear & come to think of what Tony said during practice...I meet a problem in the race?

Race:
I was excited about my setup in the race against NRJ...but we got it just as fun as WG ;D ...I almost think my setup was much better today, hehe. One thing I never learn: Pelle do not use the keyboard when you run  >:( ...first time it went wrong, spinning & destroyed the rear end (only slightly) & next time 'Cut Track' StopNgo  :-\  Thank you for waiting...again  8)
Already on lap 15, my tires are worn halfway...what should I ? Take a pit stop or run nicely...result, neither :P The car was fantastic even with worn tires, but when will they explode??? I can see NRJ becomes more & more wobbling in turns...is NRJ on soft or even bigger problems than I  :P I still do not understand how I got my tires to run the entire race...minimal red left over the finish line. NRJ: Thanks for the great entertainment the whole race  :sweatdrop: but yes, the sweat poured off me.

Thanks to Tony & to all of you who gave plenty of room when you was taken with a lap  :thumbup1:

Yes Pelle another great run :D. But just like the last race we had at The Glen I was fast early but the setup went down hill fast after the halfway point. I was slow as hell in turn 10 and the last chicane corner  :-[. A real problem being consistent under braking with these cars. After driving the 1988 F-1 cars for some time these things feel like they have brakes off a Tina :P I think the most fun part of the race was late in the run as it seemed like we were racing on ice :o I could see you were really having a hard time getting the power down and I'd think yes!! I'll get a run!! Then I couldn't get the power down either and I'd scream in my head "HOOK-UP DAMMIT!!!" :o ::) Sorry to those who had connection issues. Seems to be a lot of weird things happening lately :-\ A big grats to Pelle and Goldtop for their respective podium spots ;D Also a tip of the hat to Tony for keeping GTL rolling 8) Cheers

Simply could not decide which car to take for this fantastic circuit and in the end my choice of the Healey was not great, in my hands at least. Still I was determined not to quit out as I blasted around on my ownsome for lap after lap. The monotony broken occasionally by two screaming red Fezzas of Navin and Pelle in close quarter racing. Ho hum.

It's rotten when folk drop out during a race due to whatever reason beyond their control. Especially so when it reduces the field to a mere handfull.

Still thanks to all those who did turn out and survive. I hope you will be back here on Monday night for the Three Makes Challenge.

Unofficial LapChart (http://www.justanotherpage.nl/Srou/GTL/MontSep11/)

Great track and the Matra had the most beautiful (read: loudest) engine sound  ;D
Enjoyed my run in the Simca even 3 laps down  :-\

I managed 19 laps before discoing!  :'( I'm on the point of giving up racing, I rarely get to the end of a race recently, just cannot figure out why my internet keeps disconnecting during races.  :cursing:
Did you ever try restarting your modem before the race?

I have just bought a new ADSL modem which connects via ethernet connection instead of the previous one's USB connection, but it has made little difference. Also tried various different settings for the modem data rate, to no avail. I have now downloaded the latest updated AOL internet software to see if that makes a difference, if not then it seems a call to AOL will be needed & a possible change of ISP.

THere is a speed test you can do. The guys over at GTLDK use it all the time for ISP bragging rights. I'll go and see if I can find it's name.

EDIT: This is it http://www.speedtest.net/index.php

Funny you should mention that Tony, I just did a speed test. Dld 6.2, Upd 0.36, Ping 57. Not too bad considering the maximum I should get out in the countryside where I live is 8mbps.

Maybe try again at mid race time say 21:15pm. See what you get then.

My ISP provide a speed tester on their site and the readings I get from that are double what Speedtest.net say. I had a +12Mb/s download!

Also have a 8 Mb connection which in the past regularly disconnected. ISP lowered my maximum output to 6 Mb and now the connection is stable. Perhaps something to discuss with your ISP?

Thx Alex for 'Unofficial LapChart'

@Tony: The image of your test: (Slower Than 73% Of GB)...it was a test in GTL ?  ;D
Strangely with your line, your test #2 is faster in download, but the Ping rises by more than double  :o
Low Ping is very important in online games, I know nothing of ISP in the UK, but here in Denmark (I don't think there are many who know it) you can ask your ISP about getting a 'Gamer Profile', it gave me during half of the Ping...unfortunately, there is also risk of a more unstable line  ::)
My line, we tried 20/2 & I could not participate in the race, dropped out constantly & had to put it down to 10/2...still crap  >:(
(http://speedtest.net/result/1367487770.png)

I expect your server is in somewhere in the UK, here's a test for London:

When I see results from my daughter's line - & it never fall out - I put myself into a corner &  :'(

Well, fingers crossed, I have solved my problem. I did the two NoGrip Wednesday GTL races last night without a problem, (except I crashed out of both!) my connection didn't fail, stayed up for 4 hours no problem. Seems it may have been my AOL software which was causing the problem.

PS: Just a quick comment on the race, had a good few laps chasing GT & Syd, got close to Syd a couple of times (too close once, sorry for the bump Syd) but the Matra power told on the straights. Then lost some time on lap 16 when I hit something invisible at the final chicane   ???, took the first part a bit tighter than previous laps, but well clear of the barriers, & the car stopped dead & somersaulted into the air, very odd. Still was fun while it lasted. :)

Internet is a little comical, here this night went GTLDK down...on all domains  :o
