Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=318&theme=5)

Special Notes: Some of the cars have a "Modern Compound" tyre choice. Can I ask that all drivers do not use these tyres please.

The 312P obviously would have been the better choice.
But spontaneously I wanted to take the 917L

Had a catastrophic start - sorry to all I hampered.
Didn't get it running at all.
In lap 2 I found myself outside the track and retired.

Replay and results now posted.

Don't know why we have "lost" some of the group classifications. We will attempt to fix this asap.

That was a ton of fun!! After struggling with the Ferrari all practice and most of qualy I realized that Ginster and Pelle would have the pace on me so I would be left in nowhere land racing by myself. So I decided with 3 minutes to go I'd switch to the Healey which might provide some good close racing. That was a the right choice because Alex, Geoffers and myself had a great battle. At first it was just me and Alex duking it out then Geoffers caught us both and got by me and then focused on Alex. This slowed him down a bit and I was able to make it a 3 way fight. It looked like it was shaping up to an epic battle when I just about ruined it for all of us. I was a little too light on the brakes in the heal of the boot and just tapped Geoffers a bit. It was enough to send him off track for a short bit. I of course waited and let Geoffers return to chasing down Alex who was around 7 seconds ahead after that douche move on my part. I was so pissed with myself for ruining such a great fight it took me a bit of time to get my head back in the race. Geoffers pulled ahead by around 2-3 seconds and after 10 laps or so he was back on Alex's backside. I had the best seat in the house watch those 2 fight the good fight. They were racing very close and hard which slowed them down a bit and allowed me to re-enter the 3 way fight again for the last 3 laps. Starting the last lap Alex and Geoffers got into each other just a bit in turn 1 and then I bumped Geoffers as well. We had a 3 stooges moment there . I could of drove on but decided it would be much more fun to wait for Alex and Geoffers so we cued up like we were starting the last lap and finished the battle. To be perfectly honest I'm not exactly sure what what on that last lap because so much had happened earlier my brains memory chip was full so I need to look at the replay again. I know I got Alex exiting the last corner but the rest of that lap is a blur :-\ Either way it finished it was a race to remember fondly ;D A big congrats to Ginsters who was fast fast today. As well to Pelle for a solid second place and for helping me down the straights ;) Good stuff !!!

That was a fun race, battling nearly all the way with Alex & Navin, AND it was the first race I had managed to complete for more than a week, no disco! ;D

Got caught up in the start line shunt & lost some time, but chased after Alex & Navin & caught up after about half a dozen laps. Got ahead of Navin but Alex was more difficult to pass as the Chevron was quicker on the straights. Navin gave me a slight bump a few laps later but we carried on without losing too much time & caught up to Alex again.

Took 3rd from Alex when he ran a bit wide at T6 & opened up a bit of a gap, but within a few laps Alex closed up again & retook the place. We swapped places a couple more times before the final lap & still had Navin a short distance behind. Starting the last lap, Alex went by on the S/F straight & I tried to move across to the inside for T1 as I knew the Healey was better on the brakes, unfortunately I mistimed the move & as Alex braked I was right behind him & punted him off track!  Waited for Alex to rejoin & credit to Navin, he did too, & we continued in the same order. Navin got past me a few corners later & we both took Alex on the run to the line. Not sure if Alex slowed up or got on the grass but we all finished with little more than a second covering us. Great stuff.  ;D

Big apologies to Alex for the punt on the last lap, hope it didn't damage your car.  :-[

Congrats to SBG on the win.

I must apologise to Alex as well ::) Sorry for the slip as I passed you, which seemed to slow you enough to let my teamy Geoffers through. Don't have to state I'm not good enough to do that deliberately, Legzy will do that for me, but a shame and apologies nonetheless.

Good quali session with Pelle and really great first half of race as we battled for the lead. Shame it didn't go all the way, I guess his tyres went before mine, but maybe next time :) Congrats to him and all that got round.

Should just add that I had all sorts of grief trying to join last night, lucky I got there early for some pracci ::) I was on the verge of not bothering but really glad I did as these cars are ace. Thanks for laying it on Tony and here's to a deservedly better turnout next time.

Was hopeful of making this, but only got my PC turned on with 3 mins to the green light & didn't have the track yet. :(

Big grats Ginsters...it was not my tires (used hard compound) but because of rain  ;D

Here was terribly hot & I had a wet cloth for wiping sweat...unfortunately it falls too far down & frames my glasses...comes wrong into T1 & a little spin, but enough to lose the lead.
In the hunt of the front, I meet NRJ be taken with a lap...but doing too much show & loses it again. Next round, yes it goes wrong again, terribly wrong...entrance to the loop, even a car (Alex?) taken with a lap. The car is red & I think it's even a 312P (it was not) brakes earlier than I thought & I have to throw the car into an impossible act that goes horribly wrong. Unfortunately I lost the front wing and now the car is impossible to get around in turns.
Viewing the situation, is still on a safe second space & spend the rest of the race to push NRJ...but difficult. Front wing was gone & NRJ is quickly out of turns before I could reach up & push.

Thanks to all who were involved in this race for entertainment...& a good result for Team GTLDK  :D

Unofficial LapChart (http://www.justanotherpage.nl/Srou/GTL/WatGlenAug11/)

What a race! As a Gentleman Driver I'm really not used running for podium places let alone have a race with fierce battles from lap 1 till the end!!

Don't know what happened at the start but sneaked between the two Healeys to get P3. Then I proved the cork in the bottle whilst the two Ferrari's of Ginsters and Pelle sped away, with Navin and Geoffers on my back. My main advantage was top speed of the Cosworth at the straights. I saw Geoffers disappear in my rear view mirror while before the corners I the Healey boys could catch up because of my early braking....
This went on lap after lap and by lap 17 I was already thinking.. wow, this is great stuff! Last laps in the race were total mayhem where Navin, Geoffers and I both were on and over the ragged edge several times. The last lap collision was bound to happen and it must be said that it was great sportman-ship to wait for me.
Big thanks to the Geoffers and Navin for the hard but clean fighting  :euro:
Ginsters, being lapped is part of the game and frankly I didn't notice it. Saw Pelle flying off the track after overtaking me. Hope that wasn't my fault  :-\

the aftermath:
Next evening I went bowling with the office. Racing probably proved too hard for this average driver and after one hour badly strained my back  :(
Even simracing is dangerous  ;D . Hope I can join you soon for some more prototype action but for now I have to take a small break from simracing.

Bill,
I promised you the Chevron-Cosworth setup (http://www.justanotherpage.nl/Srou/misc/ChevronCosworth.svm). It is still a tricky car but at least it doesn't spin when you just thinking about turning in. Hope it will work for you also.

Thanks again guys for this great race. It proves that you don't need large grids for proper racing (but it is nice if there are).
