Nice! Hope i can make it.

Still no joy with the 997? Did you try it with other tracks online?  edit: I just tried hosting a race on GTRevo using the 997RSR at Silverstone and got no mismatch or fault references at all  ??? Took the car out on track fine. So what was the reason we cant include it in the GT Sport class?

no response? cat got your tongue?  :P

edit: just tried two different cars, both 1:48's with full tank of fuel. Only handful of laps in each so more to come off that.

Took 95L at the start as that sounded like it would be enough (judging by the other drivers on TS in their cars), but found I was going to be about 25 litres short with 15mins to go.
Tried pitting again, but couldn't work the buttons quick enough before it took the options away.

In terms of fun, car was a bit better this time as I remembered it was way oversteery last time, but I made a bunch of mistakes in the opening laps & didn't have another driver to race the whole time (bar one lap with H@L as I passed him).

Managed a 1:49.5 in the end, which from the sound of it would have been a competitive enough laptime.

I'll be back for the next one, but I think I'm going to need to see a bigger grid & get more out of it soon... :-\

cracking race for first 40mins or so...until the stops broke up the fight.

Qualied 2nd on the grid in my Vette behind Laz.

First 40mins were excellent, chasing Laz hard with spanner and matt in pursuit of me. Then Spanner got in the mix as my tyres went off a little and it was a great 3 way fight for lap after lap  8)
As the stops approached i could see i had way too much fuel lined up as the fuel calc for this version of silverstone is way wrong  ::) but couldnt do anything about it and didnt want to get all fingers and thumbs in the pits so just let the crew put in my scheduled 20mins worth. Alas Jim had gone for just tyres and i rejoined 21 secs behind him  :( Spanner and matt were a further 20 secs down the road so it turned into a dull lonely hotlap for last 15+mins. Shame as would have been great to continue the 3 way fight to the end.

Was pleased to bring the car home a safe 2nd behind Laz  8)

Shame turn out was pants, not helped by two DNF's on the grid  :o  dont know why we didnt restart to help them back in? would have been easy with 10 runners  ???

Nurby GP next, great track for GT racing in Evo  8)

Was sort of competitive, was quite happy to restart, was waiting for the server man to call it.
Got passed by spanner after a few, then held TT off for some. took 10 laps of fuel I didn't need
changed tyres and came out not far behind spanner who dived back in the pits
and then kept it mostly clean up to the flag with MJ slowly pulling away, and Spanner
slowly catching. I like Rcae07 and it's family, I just detest Steam.

My overeager crew decided to pump in some fuel but didn't change tyres, so exactly the opposite of what I wanted to do. Of course, it's all my fault for selecting the wrong pre-selected pit strategy and cancellation is not possible. Felt it's about pointless to continue as I'd be a lap behind everybody and score the same place as I did by getting out. :-\ Playing World of Tanks was much more appealing. ;)

Hope she's ok, Jamera.

Forgot to say: can we not develop some kind of restart emergency system for the cases like last night when Perdy450 accidentally pressed Esc on the start line? I mean, we're struggling with numbers, so each driver is essential, right? :-\

That will be just me then that thinks not. Why shouldnt people at least read the announcements before turning up?

My pace surprised me somewhat there. Again having to go opposite to waht i would normally do in gtr2 helped to reduce the front washing out. Decided to to my normal strategy and run with enough fuel till i stopped, reducing the mass, tyre wear and allowing me to be a bit more consistent.

This was clearly the way to go as i even managed to catch up to MJ and Lazlow but my downfall was my pit stop. I think i must have had the first stall in the pits because before it is a wall  that sticks out to the pit lane. I wasnt expect such a tight entry so actually drove past the stall by a few meters. Once i'd reversed and it pit details popped up it had defaulted to a different preset and the cursor was right at the bottom of the list. wasting more time. I then couldnt get the engine re-started afterwards, acually i'm not sure you need to switch it off as i dont think i did but then i killed it during the tyre change. I'd also picked up a stop go as the limiter didnt seem to stay on during the stop.

Came out with Matt ahead by around 20 secs and tried to close it down, only managing to get down to about 10 secs. Shame, i wasnt confident beforehand about even finishing and i could have managed a bit more!

When you're the only one to see the way, the only Hero, struggling against the current of people rushing the other way, then it's time to redefine your priorities. :-*

yeah but we all know spanners a miserable bugger

One thing i would urge everyone to do is blinking post in the race thread before the event as well as after. We are never going to generate any interest in a lifeless thread where it looks like nobody is bothering to turn up for the event. This place used to be alive with pre race banter, laptimes etc but now it always has the appearance that nobody is remotely interested.  :(  More posts generate more interest !!

lol....well i managed the password so apologies for not studying the post very hard! Is it not possible to quit and restart just the session? i.e. without re-qualifying

Sorry for dropping out last night, missus fell over and we spent the next four hours in A&E

Sorry to hear that mate  :( hope she is okay

I dont believe we could have restarted it using the qually results.

I did not think that a restart would be suitable either. At least one person does something to miss the start pretty much every time, it would have been someone else after the restart. Some drivers are on a tight time limit for their racing as well a can not afford any extra time.

I do not think we could have reorganised the grid without redoing qualy either.

I was well off pace as usual in the race and my front tyres were once again destroyed after about 8 laps. I was using a default setup this time as well so I appear to be turning the wheel too much or something. Will see if I can actually get near a decent pace for Nurb. :)
