Schoolboy error with this one - it clashes with the return of Top Gear!

I'm going to bring it forward an hour so it slots nicely between the F1 and our favourite weekly motoring program :).

Will amend the flyer as soon as I'm home.

EDIT: Times adjusted as above.

Hahaha yes indeed I have - I'd have just grabbed it on iPlayer but this is a tough crowd at the best of times.

You've just got time to re-sub Spanner - 20 mins a pop and a dab of understeer, this has got your name all over it  ;D.

Hahaha yeah this isn't the most enjoyable of combos to hot lap I know Mark - it's all about the racing provided you get the numbers. I've had a couple of epic races around here and I've no doubt it'll be a hoot as long there are people to dice with. With you totally though, this version of the circuit's just a work of art isn't it!

Blinding you're joining us anyway -hope to see you about on iR a little more! Should come and say ello at Club England on a Wednesday night - often a full grid and always top racing although I'm experiencing a crisis in form at the moment LOL.

PRACTICE SERVER UP!

No doubt I'm the last person to clock this but you can actually cancel and recreate sessions if they haven't started so that's what I've done for race 2, giving us another 10 mins to play with in qually.

Those between race comfort breaks will have to be short if you want to make the most of the time on track!

RACE ONE SERVER UP!

sorry guys but bit pointless me joining this evening,

bloody dog was in playful mood yesterday she jumped over me on the sofa and landed on my right arm which was resting over the edge of the sofa arm and bent it back big time :'(
tried this afternoon to run some laps but best I could manage was 3:10+  and after 15mins my wrist was over double it's normal size  so I don't think I could manage to run practice let alone the race  :( was actually looking forward to this as well >:(

so as I say sorry :(

hell single finger typing takes a lot of time don't it ;D :-\

Sorry guys - thought I was doing the right thing by stopping the clash with Top Gear but maybe not after all!

Wasn't masses of us but I can't say it made much difference, the racing was still top notch so thanks to those who turned up. Bit of a mare in the first race after a fun start - great fun running three abreast at times and trying some lines I probably wouldn't dare in any other iR car. Plenty of butt clenchers with more or less everyone at one point or another but seemed like good respectful racing from where I sat so hope it was the same for all.

Second race I just didn't have the pace to touch Fabio despite trying to wring the neck of my little hairdryer in those closing laps so had no choice but to settle.

Grats to Gaz and Fabs, and of course to our iRoC champion Mr. Gymer who's had speed and consistency more or less at every round so well done mate!

That's it from this series for the time being but thanks everyone who's supported the cause, I've enjoyed the rounds I've managed to attend although it's possible I'm a little biased :).

Was quite a good tussle with Raimo in the end in both races. I knew I only needed a single fourth place to clinch the title but ended up staring defeat in the face in race one with Oily headed to the front after the qualifying débacle put him in prime position for an early triple tow past the rest of us down the Kemmel straight (though I think Gazza would like the paint you pinched from him in Les Combes back!), and then Fabio had some sort of drama that saw him rejoin right behind me, ending any prospect of retaining the leaders draft.

I dropped back behind him knowing that he was faster and hoping he could tow me back up to them, but that went horribly wrong when he dropped it on the exit of La Source and I t-boned him, leaving the steering straight but causing enough damage to leave me with half a second loss on the two very fast sections.

That left me a sitting duck to Raimo, who promptly demoted me to fifth. The only good news was that he was in the slightly slower Cup car, so I fought tooth and nail over the last two laps to retake and defend fourth, just holding out for the points I needed to clinch fourth.

So for race 2 the pressure was off - and my job was to support Picnic in his attempt to seal third place from Raimo's challenge. Things started badly when I was too busy talking to Pete over TeamSpeak and selected the Cup car - for which of course I had no setup, and had done no practice - and then got far worse when my PC crashed (again!) on my out lap. By the time I'd rejoined the chequered flag had already been thrown at the end of qualifying and so I couldn't even do a sighting lap. :o

Luckily most people hadn't managed to do a clean lap and I ended up fourth on the grid again. I soon slipped behind Oily who joined the pack of weavers at the front and set about learning what gears I needed in the Cup car for each corner, having a few big moments along the way downshifting one too many times in places.

That let Raimo and Picnic catch up so I got stuck into Raimo again as he once again demonstrated that it's possible to race these cars closely without bouncing them off each other, even at a drafting track. My plan was not to beat him - it was to slow him down enough to allow Picnic to attack him. That failed when Pete made a little mistake on the penultimate lap and slipped back a second, so I dropped back and tried first to tow him forward, and then push him along, but never found a safe place to try a bump draft.

Luckily with all the aliens in the race Raimo couldn't score enough points to steal third so we ended up with a Shark 1-3 championship. ;D

LOL - no problem. Shows there are rewards for taking part if not being the quickest ;)

Enjoyed the 2nd race a lot last night. By the end of the first my pace had improved and I wasn't that far off Raimo's and with Dave in the mix it was fun. Shame this was the last of the series :(

Definitely - would have been nice to take part in a couple more myself. Gutted to have missed the V8 and F1 in particular but it's been unavoidable of late with various commitments/ dramas to attend to!

Shame this was the last of the series :(

Yeah it is a bit, I don't think it was the ideal format for mass appeal but it was nice to try some other cars for a change.

The slot I believe is still free of course...  ;D

Yeah great racing guys. Very fun to use the whole track to race on. I've never been around this track on so many diffrent lines before ;D

Yeah was both shocking and fun to try diffrent cars in this series, but I must say I really liked the Street Stock on road track. lol

Yeah good fun that. Couldn't find my pace from the saturday practice but was just about good enough to have some close racing.

Race one was mostly trying to keep Dave from overtaking me  ;) until Fabio's incident gave me a good gap behind. Darren and James got past me and couldn't get close enough to catch a tow but with a few laps to go i think they came together at the final corner and i nipped through and just held off Darren for a gifted win.

Race two i was on pole and was easily passed by Fabio and Jame's turbo MX5's  :P ( sure someone went off track to pass me at the top of En Rouge though  ;) ) then had Darren all over me again and after a few laps of holding him up i decided to let him go as i was having trouble with my wheel, the right paddle upshift is on its way out and has lost its click and i was missing alot of upshifts. Unfortunately he then got a tank slapper and i got another lucky 3rd.

Were you guys using different setups? i was just using the iracing baseline one.

Anyway thanks for hosting James and well done Dave.

I was using the one I posted on the Team Shark site garage - I think I took a click of front toe away trying (without success) to find more straight line speed.

Interesting you mention the Street Stock Raimo - I've got this idea that I'd love to run at least one Legend/ SS/ Late Model race in the not too distant future but being multi-class the numbers would have to be there or it'd be a waste of time. Probably 40 mins and around one of the shorter courses to keep things nice and intense.

The thought of Late Models passing Street Stocks, passing Legends while they're all sideways pleases me greatly :).

Does it appeal to anyone else?

Gaz you're referring to me and that Eau Rouge moment aren't you?? I'm pretty sure at least my tyre valves were inside the white line :). Sorry, hopefully it wasn't blatant cheating, it felt like accident avoidance but then that's nothing new LOL. Need to take a peep at that one again - with all the action it had conveniently slipped my mind.

I was using baseline with slightly lower rear tyre pressures and a fraction more camber on the right side to help at Pou en (?). They're quite easy to over drive though aren' they! Fortunately this was one of those rare occasions where I got my various pedal mods and in-game settings right and it meant I felt really comfortable on the brakes which doesn't seem to happen in many cars - the Skippy's the only one I get that level of feeling from...certainly recently anyway.

I was just messing James, think you had to go that side to avoid me like you say as you had so much more speed through there coz i was compromised  ;)

Oh yeah I know you weren't kicking up a stink or anything but it did just get me wondering as I'd forgotten about it totally! Anyway that's a relief - that's pretty much how I remember it but sometimes I can't be 100% unless I watch the replay (well most times actually lol!).
