Nice paintjob Albers...am downloading it now  :) Is it possible to choose a custom made skin off NG etc and use that as your own paintjob for online racing? I have no idea how to skin so getting a ready made realistic one is a good option.

Also, if others dont download the skin, do they just see your car as a default game skin in the race?

Yeah if you don't have the skin I've done all you will see is the default (numberless) car.

If you have an idea for a custom skin I can make you one if you want?

just a heads up, not sure who else runs win7 on here, but they just released a new service pack which i installed last night. However, as usual it knocks out your xd, motec-add etc. so am guessing we need a new patch from those guys. Also GTR-Evo wouldnt fire up through steam after, so had to use the steam - library - race07 route to get back in and working.

This ok? Which colour do you prefer, light or dark blue? What name/number would you like in the windows?

Wasn't sure if you wanted the e90 or e46 doing so I have done the e90 but can easily do the e46.
Ignore the wheels and windows, they are just default at the minute.

Anyone else want a car doing? :)

They will almost certainly want the lighter blue, most all of their 'Legend Team' skins look very much like this:

cheers Albers, very kind of you to knock us up a team skin  :thumbup1:

yes, it would be the lighter scheme ala the fabulous looking F430 in our colours that Legzy shows (how come thats not present in our skin pack races ??)

Yes, the beautiful colourline of the presented F430 would be the ultimate Legends skin.

Was that the one using the wrong F430 model template?

Note we are not running skins. And i think as the content is all encrypted i'm not sure if you can rename the skin to replace it in game.

you dont have to 'run skins', its up to the participants to put the skins in their own mydocuments\simbin\race07\custom skins dir if they want to see them appear in game, otherwise you just see the car as a default skin. Personally i like to see someones personal race car scheme as it adds to the flavour and makes it more personal when racing hard on track  :) After all, a Leon skin like Albers uses a 'whopping' 1.6mb..hardly a problem. :P  Its little touches like this that encourage more racers, why hinder it? Though you can keep that 'orrible green car of yours  ;)

So it handles it differently than GTR2 then where the skin is a complete car?

There arnt many people wanting to do skins/ car packs for any races (Still not learned yet MJ) anymore. If Race does handle them better then by all means.

yeah as far as i know, you just drop the skin into that custom skins folder and voila ! A big improvement over GTR2's method. Its all they did over at RD for the GT series i just finished and worked a treat.
Albers has knocked me (& TT) up a superb looking Beemer skin in the legends colour. Be a shame not to show it off ! It will look gorgeous spinning off at Craners  ;D

Tried to join you guys but the game crashes when I try to start it up. Tried everything I can think of to get it to work but no joy, even tried reinstalling it. Very annoying as I built a new machine and had tested this worked after the rebuild already so no idea why the game just crashes on startup.

that was great fun again  :)

Hindered myself by practising on the gp layout last two nights  :-[  The beemer really doesnt like that last chicane at the top of hill on the national layout  :(

Still, thought i was on the money throughout praccy when i was 4th quickest but then in qually everyone seemed to gain half a second!  :o
Race one was frantic great close action for most of it, but i gradually slid down from 6th or 7th to 10th, then with about 5mins left NSF unfortunately collected me into that final chicane and i dropped to last.  :'( But he gallantly gave me back at least his place on the final laps.
Race 2 was great from the off with plenty of action but lady luck kicked me in the kahunas around T1 when Piccers came broadside across the track and i t-boned him with no chance of avoiding. Got suspension damage but decided to race on anyway. Had a great battle with Purds and TT after me and TT did formation spinning out of T1  ::) Was great fighting but eventually my oversteery car dropped me back and finished a lame 12th.

You lot are flipping quick in these TC's and i havent quite got the knack of them over a race distance but still great close racing and fun. Good turn out too !  :thumbup1: Thanks once again to Albers for knocking me and TT up a team skin, it looked tasty in game (guessing Purds may want one too  ;) )

Congrats to JR on his wins and the podium  8)

ps...anyone try that headlight mod? i didnt get a chance to install it before the race.

Race one was a good event with a shitty ending. Tyres fell off the cliff with 2 laps to go and I lost two places in the last lap. :-X
Race two started worse, Mr.Naebalov overslept the start and he was in my way, had to swerve around and lost momentum, was losing place after place in the first lap. That, of course, is my fault not his. :D It was strange, my pace was much slower in the second race - what changes are there from session one to session two? Maybe I managed one or two fast laps but otherwise the car was feeling a lot worse, I used more fuel and tyres were worn even more. No, I didn't change anything in the setup. :( Though I liked dicing with MJ in the second race, I was less than satisfied with my pace and it spoiled the experience.

Good work with the skin, it looks great and feels nice to have it after all this time without. :)

Grats Jeff and Grats Dan on the Championship  O0

Can't expect much only driving these cars once a week so all I could do with my pace was use my race-craft. Had some great close racing in race one. trying to avoid the wooden spoon award  ::) ... but didn't  :P

Good fun with tibs & nsfast  :)

Race 2 I went from 11th to 6th after a great start, the one advantage of the beemer i guess. Ended up throwing it away but with my pace is was never gonna last  :D

Had a great battle with Purds and TT after me and TT did formation spinning out of T1  ::) Was great fighting but eventually my oversteery car dropped me back and finished a lame 12th.

Yeh good fun with TT.... side-by-side from T1 up to Coppice almost!!!

Yeh Albers skin looks great, will certainly be donning that :thumbup2:

I really enjoyed both the race's  ;D

Race 1 - Lost out at the start to those damn BMW starts!!! Was a great battle to get back in front of it, got side by side and neither of us would give up, managed to get the place and I did try to catch back up with 1st and 2nd but I was still trying different things with the car and track which slowed me down, also running off the track twice cost me a few seconds. New site, 1st race finishing 3rd was a great result :)

Race 2 - Managed to get through turn 1 without incident, scared myself and maybe others behind with my stupid sliding on the brakes into corners, thought I was a gonna a couple of times. Did hold the lead for a few laps but again I was still finding the best way round the track. Lost the lead after having a few mis-timed braking. After that with about 3 laps to go I found where I was losing time and altered the lines through a couple of corners, this closed the gap to Jeffery, shame I didn't figure it out before race 1 where I was going wrong!!! 2nd place, another great result :)
I failed the Touring Car standard of driving award as I didn't make a single contact with another car through the whole race :) (from what I can remember)

Congrats to everyone for such a great race :)

If anyone wants a skin doing, just ask, all I do is skin and mod for race 07 :)

Grats RR on the championship :) .

Had 2 fun races. First race I just had enough of a start to stay ahead of lazlow. He was on my tail the whole race, testing my nerves.

Race 2 I had an okay start and gained some places. Got behind a Chevy which was a bit slower, but got my just in time. Had to chase Kenny for a while and try and look for a opportunity to overtake. Can't remember when and where I did it :P. After that he was on my tail the whole race.

Last 2 races were fun and very close. If there is another season and I join, I sure won't be taking the Alfa. It lacks so much front grip, it ain't funny. Had a season in the Honda, and that was lovely. :)

After nearly a week of trying I've finally got RACE 07 running again. I had to set "Windows XP SP3" compatbility mode on the race_steam.exe to get it to run. No idea why as I never did that before, but now it stops crashing. If you have any more RACE 07 races I will endeavour to join in.
