Nurby in decent GT cars is flipping excellent  8)

by the way, i noticed over weissbierbude that there is a 2.1 version of the F430/997 mod out. Wonder if that fixes the apparent problem spanner had with using the 997 online (which i didnt have a problem with when i tried it, incidentally  :-\ )

Right, For MJ's benefit the server has been started with the Porsche enabled. Can people see if they can join?

tried a couple of cars tonight and thought i'd set the ball rolling laptime wise.

BMW - 2:02.8
Vette C6 GT2 2:02.6

both with 100L fuel onboard (full tank), race spec setup. Only did about 8 laps in each, mostly setup work, so would hope to chisel some time off that.

Server wasnt up so couldnt test the 997 /track combo.

I've tried 8 laps in the Mosler tonight with mid fuel levels and my usual (bad  ::) ) setup. Best time was 2:03.4. I'm guessing 2:02's may be possible with a bit more practice.

hi all,

i have got a bit of spare time this weekend, so decided to try and explore GTR evo and work on a decent setup for sundays race at Nurburgring, but i cant find my .plr file to set the file destination for the logged data for the motec, can anyone tell me where it is? i am running the steam download version of GTRevo on win7

Also do you need to tick an option box to make the game create the data aquisition data (as you do in one of the setup pages on GTR2)?

here you go SRW, copy paste this into your plr file changing the name of your install dir to match your own. The plr file is in your documents/simbin/race07/userdata/yourname :-

Data Acquisition Rate="10" // rates 1, 2 ,5, *10*, 20, 50, 100
Data Acquisition In Race="1"
Data Acquisition EXE="C:\Program Files (x86)\MoTeC\i2\1.0\MoTeC.exe"
Data Acquisition File="c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\yourname\race 07\UserData\vehicledata.spt"

Can't pick the Porsche  -  it's not there.

thanks for the info Mark J,

found the .plr file, but it took me half an hour of pulling my hair out and compareing it with my GTR2 .plr file to work out where the problem was, i needed to ammend the file destination on the next line down:

MoTeC LogFolder="MoTeC\Logged Data"

The C: was missing (i seem to recall having the same problem when i first setup GTR2)

all working ok now, so i can get a few laps in tonight and work on my setup

There has been another update for Race 07 since we last had an Evo race, it is on version 1.2.1.9 now. The server is on 1.2.1.9

The update appears to have stopped XD from working again, so you will need the latest version:

The version numbers for updates could be different for the non steam version of the game but, I am not sure about that.

There is no option to 'not update' when using steam as far as I am aware so, as the server is using the steam version it is safe to assume that we will always be using the latest update for Race 07 races.

I think the Porsche and Ferrari mod is still on the same version we have used before.  :)

What happened Chris? one minute you were 15 secs or so in front, then you left?

Well I enjoyed it. Took a wholly inappropriate car, but enjoyed power sliding it
round and out of corners 'cept when I overdid it a couple of times and went up
the inside kerb. Had some good tussles with HAL and SRW, and Spanner later on.

Apologies for taking off like a looney at the start guys, thought for a moment it was a standing start and was congratulating  myself on a perfect getaway as I shot past nearly everyone! DOH!!!!

Anyway got into race mode, or so I thought, but a couple of downshifts too quick at the hairpin took their toll on the hill climb after and my engine blew up  :o

I was going round comfortably in 4th, bored. Had a couple of spins through just not paying attention & so quit.

With this kind of grid, would a 30 min race make more sense?

You just need someone to race with, so drive slower next time and get one. ;)

Had a fairly good quali (2nd place) and soon after the start I lost a place to Ade. All three with nsfast we were dicing quite close in the first stint. Fuel usage was on the limit here and I conserved fuel as much as possible for the second stint in case I needed it. Managed to pass Ade while he was working his car fairly hard, I guess your tyres were a bit too hot, Ade? Anyways, stayed close to nsfast and we went to pit together, literally. :D Sorry about the tap, you braked 200 meters too soon, lol. :P Did you take fuel, nsfast? Overtook in the pits by a good margin, about 10 second. In the second stint I was able to control the gap, only answering to attempts of nsfast to go faster. Ade run out of time to really put a pressure on nsfast, though I was looking in the mirror frequently to see if they commence a duel for the 2nd place.

Am glad that Marcos was able to outpace fezzas and beemers here. Oh, and Mosler and Corvette. ;)

I wonder if any of you had to take such an effort to make the car less understeary. I had wing 2/4, springs 190/210 (rear hardest possible), ride height 6/9, arbs 150/75, differential 25/25. Tried to set the car more normally but it just wouldn't turn. :-\ And all this considered, my fronts were still 50% more worn than the rears. I can set the car much more away from extremes in GTR2, I wonder if this was made deliberately or is just an omission from the developers. :-\ I must say I find all cars in Race too understeary and have to set BTCC beemer to the same hard rear extreme.

was an exciting race for me, seemed to have someone close behind or in front for most of the race, also capitalised on a few people overcooking it and spinning off. i started to crack a bit under pressure in the final few laps as i saw the gap to phspok coming down, i was having real trouble at the chicane before the final corner, car was getting very unsettled if i went on the curbs, so was losing chunks of time as i had to slow right down and miss the curbs completely, but manged to keep it on the blackstuff till the chequered flag!

No fuel for me. I lost about 2 secs in the pits from overshooting my pit box and then another 6-7secs from on off track adventure shortly afterwards  ::).

A good hours racing as normal last night.  :) The first half was very close with TT & Ade following closely and Legzy not far behind. Ade was quicker but seemed to have a few incidents early on. TT pulled out a small lead out after my pitstop error which I could not catch in the second half. Ade me put me under a lot of pressure for 2nd place and was a lot faster than me in the first part of the stint. I'm not sure if his tyres must have given up towards the end as I was able to match his pace for the last few laps hold on to P2....just  ;D

Congrats to TT and Ade. Thanks for a great race.

With regard to setup..softer springs, minor adjustments to rollbar and a big adjustment to push brake bias back did make the Mosler a slightly less scary to drive. Tyre wear was reasonably even accross the front and back. I was using 2/7 for the wings.

Struggled round here again with guys in front get further in front and the guys behind slowly getting further behind. Then i started making too many mistakes, getting bored driving a horrible car round a decent track :P Somehow came out of the stop closer the Legzy and SRW closing up as well but then Legzy spoiled it by quitting out ???
