Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Guy's, due to the problems we have been experiencing on Monday nights with these TMC events we are making some changes for this race as a test. Server wise I will be removing all mod cars not required for this race. This will not effect you and you need not do anything.

However we are taking a second step that will effect you so heads up! We will be running this race on the official Simbin lobby. To do this please follow the following instructions.

The digital version of GT-Legends is already set up to use the official lobby.  If you are running a disc version of the game, you are still more than welcome to use the official GT-Legends lobby.  To do this navigate to your local GT-Legends installation and locate a file called LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt.  Open the file and edit the IP address to gtlsrv.race-game.com and save the file.  (Be sure to back up your original files any time you choose to edit them.)

If after this edit you are unable to connect to the lobby and receive an error message, please return to the internet multiplayer connection screen and select 'Register', then register anew with the lobby before connecting again.

Probably best if you make a copy of your entire GTL install and call the copy something different to the original. Remember to create a new desktop shortcut for this copy as well. Then do the listed file change to the copy and you will have a GTL for Simbins lobby and a GTL for the Altbierbude lobby. Of course you don't have to do this, it's just a suggestion.

Point of clarification Tony, I use the GTLDK version of GTL, what do I need to do?

Same as above Bill Thomas. Change the LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt after first backing it up. All this does is to tell GTL where to look for the lobby.

Precisely that is on my "to do" list this weekend Bill Thomas now. I'll post when up and running.

I have no 'LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt' in my UKGTL installation...maybe Bill to do the same  :)

My GTL "Master" has all the necessary bells and whistles to operate all cars etc in the Altbierbude lobby. I have the file LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt. in the root of GTL, but it may have been added as part of a "host hack" file which we at UKGTL added to get into the Altbierbude lobby.  Tony should know.

My GTL came via Pelle as it was a "special" version that had no Starforce protection and would run on a Windows 7 OS. I also do have the Lobby.txt file so I can only assume that it was added at some time?

Pelle, how does your GTL know which lobby to go to?

If I remember correctly, after Altbierbude took over the old lobby, is no need for 'LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt' more...& you can just remove it.

Edit:Looked just after, none of my GTL installations have 'LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt'...& they work fine  8)
Sometimes it can happen you must register to lobby again, but does not require you again to use the key & fill in email address.

Si if you don't add a lobby.txt how will your GTL know to go to Simbin and not Altbierbude?

This event is now active on the Simbin server. Please try to connect BEFORE the race on Monday 26th September. I won't be in a position to help you on the race night.

NOTE: First time I tried to connect I received an invalid login message. To fix this go back to the Internet screen, select Register and just enter your normal online name. No need for a password or anything else. Then you should be able to connect to the Simbin lobby.

Just had a canter around on line with Alfa GTA, all was OK - on my own though.  ;D What a difference to those terrible nose heavy understeering beasts on P&G.  :oops: :helpsmilie: :surrender:

Now I understand nothing  ???...UKGTL server is now running in Altbierbude Lobby...& not in SimBin Lobby, what happens  :-\

What's happened is that last nights server starter didn't restart both GTL events, just the Altbierbude one. I'll start the Raceroom one tonight when I get home.

I was on the server tonight, no problems. After driving a prototype and the big Cobra here these cars are so sloooow. And Alfa still seems faster then Mustang despite long straights. After a few laps with each car I was over a second faster with the Alfa.

Heck. Lost my Internet connection and I was having a cracking battle with Bill. Hope everyone else survives to the end.

Replay and results now posted but there are problems. Too early to say why but we are now working on a solution.

Top three were Navin, Ade and Pele. I was 4th, Phil 5th and Oliver 6th. Results while we were on the server seemed fine, unlike last time, when you didn't know where anyone was from the start.
Also that result above is from last weeks prototype race.

Everything worked fine here today, qual & XD.
Too bad Ramsay...it was the stove that took too much power  ;D
...& at last place in the race, Tonny...who made a nice false start  :o

We'll I think I used up a lot of luck on that race. Did a first time run here last night and was not confident at all. Very strange track for these cars imho. Better maybe for something with some real grip and horsepower. Was surprised to see that I was only a second or so off Ade in qualy so I was hopeful for a pody but nothing more. My setup from The Glen and Montreal just didn't seem to work here so before qualy I threw Pelle's setup on and that really helped. When I first went out in qualy I was behind Tonny and got a very nice draft for 1/2 of the lap. I think that lap was good enough for pole(after all times were in) but after that lap I found myself right behind Ade. I believe he got held up a bit earlier so it was another moment of good fortune to be right behind another fast car for a qualy run. That lap I had Ade right in front so I got an excellent time having the draft helping me the entire lap. Didn't look to do that, but I'll take it if it presents itself ;D. Then in race I had some more good luck with Pelle and Ade fighting it out right behind me the entire race. I was able to just concentrate on hitting my marks and be smooth and save tires so even at the end of the race I had plenty of car left. Frankly, if Pelle or Ade were on there own I believe they would of gotten past me after a few laps. Plus Ade wins the  8) award by default once again by driving that Tina to a inhuman like level ;) When I saw Tony drop out again I was like SOB...again.. Too many times lately mate :( And whats this about more server problems? I thought the "LOBBY FIX" was going to fix this? I'm pretty ignorant about a lot of things computer related but could it be that there's some corruption with the servers GTL install :-\. Sorry more work for you Tony. Congrats to Pelle for being my wedge ;) and to Ade with his solid and well earned 3rd place, Cheers

Practice:
About half an hour before qual calling Tonny, we talk & talk...suddenly I come to think 'UKGTL' today...NOW  :o Told Tonny to download the new Lobby Fix & join us.
Used my Montreal setup again...only problem was difficult to get around the turns - both slow & fast (perhaps because Montreal is right turns, Istanbul is left) - but no time to do it better  :(

Qual:
Quite ok, get a good third place at the start line...but shocked at how fast NRJ & Ade was.  8)

Race:
My tactic was to get ahead of Ade before T1 & keep me behind NRJ (NRJ need more points) & everything went as planned  :D
16 laps with Ade just behind, it really requires a concentration throughout the race...smallest error & Ade would be over. It was close a few times, but incredibly exciting race & a deserved third place to Ade  :thumbup1:

@NRJ: Good to hear you could use my setup, but how did you get it fixed to be as fast ??? I could not threaten you today  :laugh:

Strange you should have that, I had a black screen event. Lifted off throttle and waited to see if I got a "stopped working" screen or if GTL minimised, then it all came back with car still under control and off I went again with no more problems.

Yes Tony that was a cracking battle, real cut and thrust particularly through that fast right hand kink onto the back straight. After I passed you again I had an eye in the mirror for you but although Xd showed you about 1 sec behind you were out of my vision and then I saw the fact you'd left the race.  Pity those last few laps could have been close, I noticed you were understeering with quite large amounts of lock required to stay pointing in right direction.

New PBs in practice, qualifying and race, from your speed I was able to see you were in higher gears than me in a number of places, so I ran a number of corners after that in higher gears than before, bringing down my lap times.

First race for ages with no spins or major offs, just a bit more off the track than intended in places.

Successful night allround.  After spending odd moments, in the past, trying to connect smart phone with PC I managed to sort out syncing the two and downloading music off HD.  I now have a "We will rock you" ring tone.

No problem Ade. Stuffed the results all on my own.
