Let's hope the cars will be out by then, if they aren't will the series be delayed? Or run with the current cars? Besides that I absolutely can't wait for this! One of the best content releases in iRacing so far ;D

I was going to say the last I heard the cars might be a couple of weeks after week 13 (as in not with iRacing 2.0), although I've lost track of when week 13 is so. :-\ :)

Given past experiences they kind of have to say that but it was hinted that the cars were on schedule thus far... Week 13 is from July 26th to August 2nd, new builds are usually released on Wednesdays, so that would be July 27th.

7.30 qual on a sunday is pushing it for me because sunday evening is family roast dinner time (yum  :)). With the NTM though  this is getting close to the old days of GTR2 endurance, so I'll see if I can get a pass for the early start.

Erm ... it's 1900 qual, 1930 race .... trying to make it a bit more accessible to those SRouk members on the continent.

Sorry, I think I did know that but then forgot  ::) I knew it was tight - that makes it even tighter  :(

It complicates things for me too - my kids normally go to bed between seven and half past ... I'll be speaking nicely to the wife too :D

gona have to think about this to start with next month I have laser eye surgery so don't know how long if any I'm out of racing then  not a clue what car I would run till I have driven them both ...more than lightly  be the Ford so as I can potter around at the back  ;D and maybe only part time  as last time I signed up as a full time then hardly ran due to real life crap  ;D

As the cars are new by themselves and on track together we'll run Watkins Glen Classic Boot, and the Silverstone Historic layout.  That should minimize any potential complications on track.

With the recent publication of the iRacing Season 3 schedule, the races in our series might have a reshuffle to match up where possible - to save on time for people setting the cars up.  I'll duly make an announcement to confirm.

Do the LMP2 or Ford GT get an official series at iRacing?

The iRacing Prototype and GT Challenge run the LMP2, GT1 and GT2 together.

Races are 45mins, with two 60min races in there.  There's a "bit" of a discussion about these being too short - whether that will change anything remains to be seen.

Theres also a fixed series with the same cars, but those races are only 25 mins.

Whilst everyone is complaining over at iR I'm happy .... it means we're offering something different, and something that people want :D

Having had a look at the iR schedules, I've swapped Spa and Sebring round on our season to have a bit more in common and save on setup time.  The flier has been ammended accordingly.

Its actually only nine days I'm away for, but the week later scheduling puts me out of three of them. Shame one of them is Spa :'(

Nothing to be done though, I'll just come up with an extra bright paint scheme to put people off in the races I do attend.

Whatever the scheduling some people are going to be missing a couple of races, it's always the way in August.  We've got an extra drop for this season - best six races count this time.  Hopefully you can make the other 5 races and make up some of the points.

Hi Guys, some might remember me from a while ago, known as Baz but Barry West in iR. I go right back to season 2 in UKGPL days. I think my last race here was 2006 in GTL series. I am looking forward to racing with you again. After GTL I went to Legends-League a world wide open wheeler league using rFactor and mainly the 1979 F1 mod, and changed to IRacing when it came out. We have had a few championships since then. Not sure if I will be able to last 90 minutes but will give it a go, if you will have me.  :D

Great to see you still racing Gary, I remember that day well. Yes it was Paul Harrington. Good old OilSeal is Mike still around?  I know Woody is somewhere  :D  I bought 2 friends Keith Lawrie and Graham P they still both race. There was a picture of us all somewhere on the web.

I remember the day well Baz  :) I think Gary, Paul T and I went round the museum beforehand. Adam Greenwood was there too iirc - anyone seen him recently? Didn't we run an early version of the GPL engine patcher thing on my PC that day?

No it was an early version of one of the first mods we ran, GEM had been out for a while I think at that point and as Baz said it was a 250F. I do understand that the memory goes though at your age mate ;D

By agreement with Adam, Legends League will be running official practice servers on the Monday & Saturday before each of the Endurance Sundays races, starting this Saturday.

Server name: "TWFR/SRouk Endurance Sundays Practice"

Times:
Monday - 19:30 UK time
Saturday - 19:00 UK time

The format will be 60 mins practice, 2 laps private qualifying and then a 40 minute race to give people enough time to practice dealing with traffic.

Robert I have seen replay, I can send you a clip if you want. I'm sorry to have returned on line as soon as the LMP in front of you lapped me, you appeared on my mirror suddenly. Indeed you punted me and you was rebounded off track, I barely felt a tap on rear, the GTs are very strong compared to LMPs. Sorry this ended your race.  :(

Race report Baz

Well recovered now, but forgotten most about the race, just know 90 minutes is a long time.  ::)
PB in qualy for P13 on grid. Very dificult to get a good lap in which added to the atmosphere I thought.

Reasonable start but decided not to race anybody, just try and get in a rythmn which paid off in the end, although loosing a few places. On lap 13 I got caught up in an incident in the esses collected some damage  :( and had to pit as I got caugth by a Ford which was tagged on the rear by an ARX, I was sent into the armco as I drove off track trying to avoid the incident. It was at a time of my needing fuel, and could drive safely back to the pits so it didn't take up to much time. Had a bit of fun with Martin Mason towards the end but he was a lap infront and slightly faster pace.

Was so pleased that I didn't need to take a tow all race,the only unforced spin I had was with 2 to go and it cost me a position lost to Andy Purdy, who I had been having a race long battle with, then on last lap in exactly the same place (under bridge after degner 2) he did the same thing and gave it back, what a gentleman  :-* he got going again but couldn't catch up my damaged car as it limped home for P5.   ;D

To survive is an achievment in these races with 36 cars on track at the beginning and only 3 finishing on the lead lap.

I was away from the PC/iRacing for quite some time, but had a good feeling that you would make a series like this when these cars were released. So it was great to see that you had, and that the season is starting already, just as I get back from vaccation and all fired up to drive.

Hi Everyone.
This will be my first race with Simracing Org and my first post so a big hello to you all.
I've been racing in Iracing for just over a year now, so hopefully won't be to slow and and get in the fast guys way.
I'm really looking to this series with you all and can here the BBC1 F1 theme tune just thinking about it, hopefully it won't all be over at the first bend and I will make it to the end.

Baz was referring to the Legends League race (Radical SR8 at Road America) which is today. SRouk & Legends League are cooperating on the iR side, running on alternate Sundays and publicising each other's races (see https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=9758.0 where Adam posted about the SR8 race). So if you want some Radical fun come & join us!

Legends League are also hosting practice servers every week on Mondays @ 1830 GMT & Saturdays @ 1800 GMT. On the Endurance Sundays weeks these will be set up for the LMP2 & GTs with 60 mins practice and then a 40 minute race.
