The Works will run on PRO Damage and Privateers will run on Intermediate Damage with the allowance of ONE shift-R reset. No Shift-Rs are allowed in practice unless authorized by the moderator. A Shift-R (fault or not) MUST be followed by a Stop & Go. A Shift-R for tyres/fuel is not allowed. Any driver taking more then ONE Shift-R OR failing to take a Stop & Go will be disqualified from the race result.

Reserve drivers should not join the server(s) until there are only 30 minutes of qualifying left. Please restrict chat to pit messages. Moderating will be by reported incidents only, however the moderators reserve the right to review any incident with a particular emphasis on lap one. The aim is to review the race the following weekend so incident reports should be submitted within five days of the race (ie the following Friday). We're hopeful most incidents can be resolved amicably and recommend a days deep breath with a replay review before posting. A sorry in the forum won't be taken as an automatic admission of guilt by the moderators. There will be FULL moderation of lap one regardless of whether you submit an incident report.

With the token system chassis strategy will be a factor. A driver must have sufficient tokens for the chassis he drives in the race.  Any driver who does not have sufficient tokens will be disqualified from the result and his tokens will be set to zero.

The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez ("Rodríguez Brothers Racetrack") is a 2.747-mile race track in Mexico City named for the famous racing drivers Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez. The circuit got its name shortly after it opened when Ricardo Rodríguez died in practice for the non-Championship 1962 Mexican Grand Prix. Built in a public park in 1962, the circuit hosted its first Formula One Grand Prix the same year, as a non-Championship race. The following year the Mexican Grand Prix became a full World Championship event. The circuit remained part of the F1 calendar through to 1970, when spectator overcrowding caused unsafe conditions. When the track re-opened in 1986, the circuit boasted a new pit complex, as well as improved safety all around.
The circuit itself has a very bumpy surface, mostly due to Mexico City's location on a geologically active region.

Both servers are set for a 28 laps Long race.

Pretty awful result for me after doing quite well lately. I've just never managed to get a handle on this track and was 2-3 sec off the pace in qualifying. My plan was to just to keep going and pick up some points, which I did with seventh place, a lap down.

Early on I was battling with an Eagle, Michael Turner I think, and we had a couple of bumps. I had to take a reset and stop and go which left me dead last, I picked up places after that but it was a lonely race.

Well done to Dave Rainier on his first win and another second place by Ronnie who is so consistent. Also grats to Geoff on his podium, long overdue after some strong showings lately.

Looking forward to Sandown Park where I hope to be back nearer the front.

No practise, bad hangover and had some other stuff to do so I have now had 2 no shows which will be my dropped results.

I am green at Mexico but by the skin of my teeth in the Eagle so didn't expect to be troubling the podium anyway.

Looking forward to the tight Sandown which will be interesting trying to pass on.

I wasn't sure wether to do this race or not... I eventually decided that I would (TV is crap on a sunday night atm) but sadly got online too late to join the server... There will be a few more races that I will miss over the last few months of the season, mostly cos I cba to learn any more new tracks  ::)

Another disastrous outing. Dicing with Ross through the Esses, I was following the usual racing line but hadn't noticed Ross sneaking up the inside and turned in on him (my apologies) losing a wheel and ending up behind the Armco as a result. I think Ross emerged undamaged but as I did an S+R, GPL respawned me directly in his path (or possibly on top of him) as he drove away resulting in us both doing a Renault and going up in flames. End of race for me.

My race was sabotaged, and the culprit showed no remorse!  After being irresponsibly passed once during practice, the next time it would be worse. :'(

The Lotus was not the easiest car to drive, but it was the fastest, and I gambled, on surviving to the finish.  A fast practice time came quickly, and it was only Ronnie's similar equipment, which allowed him to surpass me.  But when the flag fell surprisingly quickly, I quickly surpassed him, and forged a healthy lead, after only a lap.

Soon realized I had a race on my hands though, when the gap stopped growing.  Exiting the hairpin, I could see Ronnie facing a similar situation, but with a Ferrari in close proximity.  After a few laps, and with little speed to spare, I decided it was time to push the tyres, as hard as I dare . . . and that's when it happened! 

I'd been perturbed once already during practice, by a blatant display of irresponsible behaviour, and I was now to get a close up look at it.  I was under attack from a small rampaging Moth, and having buzzed me previously, it was now back with a vengeance, mid-main straight!  Worse still, it looked like a Clothes Moth, and I was wearing cotton!  I made a swipe, but it weaved left.  Next, as I hit the braking zone, it returned from the outfield, and headed towards the apex ahead of me.  so I swatted, and rather late spotted, we were wide and fast into the corner.  By the time I reached the apex, the tyres had reached the cliff. :o

The accident waiting to happen, happened when I squirmed into the tyres, at the end of the lap.  I was hence, flung forlornly into the outside armco, and back across the track, parking nicely just past the pit entrance.  Needing a reset, due to a sudden lack of appendage, I realized the potential merits of an early pitstop.  It would be an automatic DQ, to reverse a large distance on the track, in GPL, but not if it's a short one.  So I reversed, pitted, and re-entered in 5th.

Bernie was only a short distance ahead, and I was less than happy, at my Moth-ridden state.  He left me room, entering the hairpin, but I warped by a wheel's width, and his car snapped into a sudden 180.  Apologies due - a clean pass was the intention, albeit aggressive.

Next, Geoff's demotion placed me in 3rd, but with little prospect of a higher rank, until another distraction caught my eye.  I was wondering why a slow Lotus was suddenly, buzzing about in front of my nose, while Ronnie should  be either leading, or well behind me?  This puzzle was enough to distract my Moth-eaten brain, and with one misplaced twitch, I swatted myself into the armco, somewhat precipitously - the debris was scattered far and wide!

Rather an impressive showing, from '67's latest arrival, Dave, and rather good going from our runners up - neither of whom are Moth-eaten, so far as I know.  Immaculate behavior from lapper's.  I was only miffed by a Moth, and what's more, it's still lurking somewhere! >:(

Crap race from me , turned up in me highly polished coop hoping to do an OK sort of race but it turned sour when I couldnt decide  why my best set up had dissapeared ,  then realised this is a new install  ???

Tossed a home brew up during qually which didnt seem too bad but then changed things for the race which of course made everything worse  ::) And before you ask I am in charge of my hyperactive grandkids for 2 weeks so no reserve time allowed for pre race practising .

The race was simply driving to the finish as quick as possible without making any silly errors , which apart from a couple of gyrations and time spent untangling myself from the hairpin after "Armco Martin" went by so fast that the draught (meths?) from his car spun me off , scratching all the polish off the Coop,  which slowed me even further. 

Grats to the podium boys and Comms to team mate Mike , poor show for us soggies , hope you get better soon  ;)

Although I tried hard for the win, this race went pretty much as expected. Despite getting pole I decided that if Martin made the better start in his Lotus then let him go and try and hang onto second while nursing the fast but fragile Lotus Mr Chapman had provided me with, plenty of time to wait and chase him down if possible. Green flag waved and sure enough Martin bolted and I settled into second.

Unfortunately Dave in his Ferrari forced me to up my game earlier than planned and several laps later a slight spin at T1 saw Dave slot into second. With him driving so well I struggled to get close enough for clean pass but my chance came a few laps later with a bit of slipstreaming and late breaking into T1. But he was not giving up and getting a gap on him was proved difficult.

Following the Moth incident detailed above (I will come back to this later) I took the lead with Dave in second and in close attendance.

Sure enough as feared the the engine blew, fortunately close to the pits. I let Dave and the rest of the traffic by and then took my anticipated shift-r/stop and go. After exiting the pits and heading down to T1 I saw Martin closing and waited for his challenge but it never came as I saw him veer across the track in my mirrors never to return.

Despite chasing hard Dave drove a superb race to take the win and I was grateful to get the Lotus home for some good points in second. Grats to Geoff on an excellent third spot on the podium. On the subject of lapped traffic I found the behaviour of all the drivers I came across to be of an exceptionally high quality, thank you.

Now that moth Martin. Funny you should mention this problem as I have the same issue on a regular basis on race nights. The eerie glow of my monitor attracts all manner of insects at the most inappropriate moments. Their presence has on more than one occasion caused me to slow, speed up, veer off track, etc on more than one occasion. Even with the room light on they still head for the monitor buzzing me in the process. Does anyone else suffer from this problem? If anyone has a (sensible) solution let me know how!

After 3 or 4 days spent circumnavigating the rural areas of Victoria looking at property, and driving well in excess of 1000kms, when we got home I felt as if I'd been welded to the steering wheel. Consequently, setting up my racecar was not the first item on the agenda. As I know Mexico quite well, I followed  my plan, which to the CH team manager's enduring horror included......driving the Ferrari.
I had no setup for the Fezza for Mexico, having to rough one out on the praccy server 10 minutes before race time. It seemed to be happy enough to be caressed along.....however any hint of impatients and pushing it along was met with snap oversteer from the rear. I calmed it down slightly and managed to post 4th fastest in Qually....but it was not comfy to drive and had to be watched like a hawk, lest bad situations develop.

Got a good start in the race, and kudos go to all and sundry here as turn 1 was picture perfect with no silly accidents. Great job Gents. I couldn't match the leading trios 49's and even doing a 50 consistently was looking to be a bit difficult on race fuel. I let the 3 Amigos go ahead and concentrated on settling into a groove that could keep a charging Bernie at bay.....hopefully. My plan was to lap as tidily as possible and keep a gap to the cars behind. The car was actually very good at some points of the track, nobody seemed to be able to gain on me from astern......especially through the esses section where it appeared quite nimble. I drove my pitboard until about lap 7 when Martin gave up 3rd to me and Fabio had a little spin allowing me past. I put my head down and pushed as hard as I dared to try and put some space between Maddog and myself, also hoping that Fabio and Bernie would slow his progress back up the leaderboard. He did catch me eventually and as he was warping badly, and my car was hardly set up for hammer and tongs racing....I let him by into T1 and settled back to hold 4th and defend from attack from my 6 o'clock. Martin drove away and caught a recovering Ray who'd managed a quick DFV changeover in the pits. Soon after I inherited 3rd again from Martin as he and his insectoid friend separated a wheel from the Lotus. I simply (?) drove it to the end with no mistakes from that point....and considering the lack of practice in the car, very pleased with 3rd step on the podium. Congratulations Dave on your first (?) win, you earned it. Also my new Teamie Ray for his excellent 2nd place. Was rather surprised that Ross was so far down the field....but we all have our tracks that we are less than good at plus I too remember the pressures that a new arrival on the home front can create. Hang in there mate......it gets better as I'm sure you're aware.   ;D
 
Ditto the traffic, very civilised chaps, thanks very much. On to Sandown and although my 'home' track....it's not been a fave and may cause me trouble. We shall see.

The 2 Lotus drivers were faster than me and deserve to win but their car swas too fragile : even the great Jim Clark was defeated by Denny Hulme !
The greatest satisfaction for me was to do no error at all, even if I was slow !   

Next race is in Sandown ...and I like this track  ;)

There's a more friendly rendition of the track, called Sandown68, but I seem to remember noting, it's problematical online. :'(

Not to mention a pit lane that releases you right into T1.
