Well if I'm ever to get my head around Spa, I reckon the downforce available on the bad boy cars could be my best chance yet :-\

Yes it's the MSI N460GTX HAWK. First impressions are that it blows my now dying Sapphire HD5850 (which I thought was good) right out of the water. I just tried a 20 car grid at Spa88 and was getting minimum 90 fps with full aa and af  :o There are lots of features in the control panel that I'm unfamiliar with though and I don't really have time/interest to faff around trying them all.

I think you discoed as I came in last night and I only had time for a few laps.

I'm just creeping in under 2 mins online in race trim, but haven't really got my lap or setup sorted yet. I'll hopefully get a few laps in tonight after the GTL race.

Myself and H@L have already noted this. There is not a Spa88 in the drop down menu so we believe Dave will need to create one. It's the same for some of the other 88 tracks. i believe H@L has now mentioned this to Dave.

The 88 version is a fantastic drive in these cars and they definitely feel better than on the standard version(s).

Oh my :o  ;D

I'm going to enjoy this 8) Took my hock setup, stuck the wing upto 30 and tried a few laps. Eau Rouge is too easy, car seems to turn in by itself there, very strange! need to start dropping the wings.

Got the EuroBrun in good shape for this and within a second of my ferrari lap times from when I was testing the tracks and cars a few months ago. Won't have a chance to do any more testing before race night so I'll probably forget how I did it by then  ::)

No comment. Another retire... seems to drive on the eggs every lap... not so funny indeed. This car is a real _ _ _ _ . I leave you imagine my thinking for this time ;)

Thanks to Lazlow for the good duel... til it lasted.

I will probably be out for some days during the next week, so I will jump the next one or maybe 2 races...  I m not going to miss this car anyway... thats sure  ;D

what a complete cockup on my part, as soon as Samb left the game i new i was in with a good chance of winning, the maclaren was so much faster than anything else that i didnt even need to go 100% and risk crashing.

(i didnt have time to do a practice race run and thought the tyre wear was going to be too much for one set of tyres so decided on a one stopper with some fuel)

as half distance came i realised no one else was stopping, but i had no choice as i had to come in for fuel, after that things just got worse, started overdriving in frustration and made lots of rookie mistakes spinning at least three times

An exciting race for the first 8 laps or so.

Was just able to keep ahead of Legzy and Blunder, but then came under pressure at Blanchimont and ran wide checking my mirrors resulting in a big off. Waited for everyone to pass and then 2 minutes repairs in the pits which reduced my race to a drive to the line in a slightly squiff car to salvage a few points  :wetfish:

Hard luck to Sam and to others who had a few early mishaps and congrats to Andy for the win and Spanner and SRW for their podies  8)

Ahhh Spa, Never disappoints ;D This track was made for these types of cars. Decided on going the whole distance on hard tires as Spa isn't a tire killer. Had some short but sweet battles on track. Had a couple of laps were Jubei and I were just about glued together. Good stuff ;D. Jubei raced very hard but fair and in the end I think Jubei's soft tires just had enough and he let me by without a hassle. I then made a mistake exiting the bus stop and had a quick spin and rejoin without damage. After that it was just get to the end and try and not make any more mistakes. A nice refreshing race track 8). Especially after that "all work" track that is the Hungaroring.

Strange one that...

Was experimenting with running less wing and eventually found a setting which knocked half a second off my pb, made me fast on the straights so thought that was a good plan....

No as it turns out! ... Not sure what happened but loaded full fuel and did a few test laps and all looked good!

Qualified in 4th so was feelin good...

Come the race, I went backwards very fast... no front tyre temps, understeer everywhere, took 4 or 5 laps to get any sort of pace together... held it together and came home 7th wondering what I did wrong!
Guessing everybody stuck with the high wing set ups!?

Puzzled!

M.

Congrats to Podium, well done!!! All ohters 2, Nice one. Quali P3 for me was fine.At Start i can Pass A.Purdie for P2, i tried first 2 hold him behind me, but i se that he was Real faster then me.So i let pass him back, the same i do with Truetom, F1Spanner and a little bit later Johnson to( i cant hold this Guys).I got a good Top Speed so one can Catch me on a Straight, but i must Brake 10mtr earlyer then ohters, and my kurv Speed was Bad with the Extra Weight, that Brake my Neck^^. At the end of Round 11 i do a Pit stop for New Soft-Tyres,my Tyres Rubbing down fast. Place 6 at end is a good Result for me, it was Again a REALLY NICE SUPER FUNNY RACE!!! TY all for that.

You don't have to assign any button for "ignition" and "starter". When your pit crew has finished to refuel your car, the engine will restart automatically ;)

That was amazing, not so much the result but everything else, the car handled brilliantly, managed to equalise the tyre wear front to back so even though i struggled on the tyres at the end i could still drive it quite comfortably.

Hadnt really done anything beforehand, a couple of outlaps but was reasonablyy happy that i wasnt too slow. Didnt managed to exploit the low fuel run early on as i managed to improve towards the end on a full fuel run byt found the softs on the front where wearing a bit too quickly so decided to go with hards on the front, increase the toe and castor to help generate a bit more heat and went into the race comfortable.

Interesting moments in the race, chasing TT for most of it and almost got my nose chopped off after a passing attempt :o, running with Jubei, and then SRW chasing me down at the end as i'm nursing my tyres.

With only the 7th fastest time i'm clearly ballasted up due to consistency more than anything  :'(. I'm sure Monza will be a bogey track, it always is! Its not like it doesnt suit the car!

Probably the best combo of car and track ever! (even though the Minardi is rubbish! :P)

I was equally surprised at being competitive here as I was at being uncompetitive at Hungary. Granted I have zero ballast thanks to my last race DNF so a great advantage and I could see others hit hard by it. Good to see hehe  ;)

Setup came to me quick and just concentrated getting the time down, disappointed not to get a 54. Was on for it a few times in quali but kept mucking one thing or another.

Poor Sam on P1 having to leave was disappointing. The top 2 were very quick in quali and I wondered what the race held in respect of pace. I decided to go the whole way on Hard tyres and the tyre worn message came  about 4/5 laps from the end. Had one small spin going into the chicane but was harmless and probably provided some entertainment for GT... who i think needed it after his woes!

Next time Jubei I am happy for a fight! Its weird being quicker than you!

Guessing everybody stuck with the high wing set ups!?

yep, 70L and hard tyres with wings at 22/17. Quali i took two clicks off both but was quicker with 40L fuel than 12. The fuel stopped the car jumping up and down on the bumps and settled it so proved better! Very backwards!

An error ridden drive for me, despite agreeing that Spa suits these cars quite well (all other cars still need to avoid it!), I just couldn't sort myself out. I guess I'll shed a good chunk of ballast now at least :)
Just noticed in results that the fastest race lap is wrong  ???

I noticed a short distance into the race, that my HUD was no longer recording split times & amazingly, it said my fastest lap was identical to my qually time... I believe this is the issue with the results & you'll spot the fastest race lap is the exactly the same time as pole laptime.
I doubt this can be corrected (you'd need to look inside the results.txt file) :-\, but everyones race fastest laps can & should be removed (IMHO).

You don't have to assign any button for "ignition" and "starter". When your pit crew has finished to refuel your car, the engine will restart automatically ;)

I have ignition and Starter,it doesnt Function with the Coloni! None of the others, have this problem. Please test the Coloni yourself and let me now if you can Start the Engine. The Boxencrew give me no Assistance to Start the Engine. ???

Go to your controller settings and make sure that no buttons are assigned for starter and ignition When you pit for fuel the engine will cut out automatically and then restart after refuelling.

I just noticed, my qually time here was 107.1% above pole :-[

Should I have been kicked off?

I'm sure you'll all be keeping a close eye on me at Monza now
