Title: Re: UKGTR Season 15 Formula 1 1988 - Suzuka (GP) - Sep 6 Post by: Navin R Johnson on September 06, 2011, 07:05:17 AM +0100 I was able to get a couple of 1:41.7's in a row with 33 laps of fuel, hard tires, wings at 20F/20R. Note: I threw my Spa setup on and for me it seems to work great with no changes. Even gearing was right on the money ;). When does that ever happen 8).
Title: Re: UKGTR Season 15 Formula 1 1988 - Suzuka (GP) - Sep 6 Post by: LesN on September 06, 2011, 09:18:08 AM +0100 With the stock setup I was down to around 1:40 something, but with the soft tyres. That still seems to be 5 seconds or so off the pace. Thanks for the setup tips anyway! I definitely have no other commitments today, so I will be there. I want some ballast before the season's over...

fuel perhaps. Got shoved into the beach early on, then went wide a few times without help Took softs, as I see no noticeable difference between hard and soft in this. Pace may be slightly quicker with softs, but wear seems the same, or it did on the Ferri. Went in for new tyres and hardly anyone else did, so then had to catch and pass as many as poss, nearly smacked GT up the rear into T1 but threw it onto the beach rather than ram Fun race, I like this Arrows now I have tamed it's wayward nature  EDIT: I couldn't find a Spa setup, though I thought I was there.... so used my Hungary one with just 15F/17R wing. Seemed to work ok. Title: Re: UKGTR Season 15 Formula 1 1988 - Suzuka (GP) - Sep 6 Post by: purdie on September 07, 2011, 09:41:48 AM +0100 shame the other guys couldn't make it.... this track and these cars are designed for each other (except for that dam chicane >:( lol)
Result aside, I would have preferred this to have been a long race! Got pole with a last minute death run! I'm guessing it was my lower top speed/high df in the last sector where I lost most time to Matt. Start went fine as everyone fought behind and I was gifted a 14 second lead at the half way point. Spanner then started reeling me in and with 4 laps to go the gap was 5 secs! I caught H@L in an awkward place and lost more time and Spanner appeared in my mirrors only to run wide. Sorry to tell you mate but that probably cost you the win! I was running 42s and struggling at the end so I could not have fought too hard. I then had a freeze on the penultimate lap exiting the chicane. Screen went blank for a few seconds and by the rarest coincidence it came back! I was waiting for an Error Report! Last race will be fun  Title: Re: UKGTR Season 15 Formula 1 1988 - Suzuka (GP) - Sep 6 Post by: Blunder on September 07, 2011, 04:51:29 PM +0100 Sorry to miss this guys, did a gym class Tuesday and my right knee was complaining a lot.
This morning I could barely walk! Lots of massage etc. later, I can now hobble! ;D Not good! All down to pressing too hard on the loud pedal unfortunately! Any one else had issues? M. Title: Re: UKGTR Season 15 Formula 1 1988 - Suzuka (GP) - Sep 6 Post by: spanner on September 07, 2011, 09:30:36 PM +0100 Thought i might have got a bit closer to the front in qually, seemed to be quicker in first sector but couldnt quite carry it off. I guess i was running alot more wing than most.
Surprised to see Jubei drop back at the start, Sorry to Matt for hitting you, missjudged your speed, which made for an interesting comeback through the sadly small field. I realised i problably should have dropped the wing a bit more and upped the gearing as it was rather easy but fun. Though saying that i was pushing hard to catch Purdie after Matt got caught out by a slow Jubei. Think i got it down to around 3 secs But realise when i made that mistake i had to settle for 2nd. So i'm not sure how i went off again and with 2 laps to go had to drive around without a front wing which with the tyres worn message as they got to 30 wear wasnt fun! Only had trouble with the brakes peadl when i stuck the nixim rubber block in it which stiffened it up massively. Foot ached for weeks, got cramp during longer sessions.
