Endurance races are getting shorter and shorter. Maybe H@l's not as young as he keeps telling us... :-*

Expecting an interesting race, this combo should pull out some more demanding work with the setting up the car. For me, at least. :D

35 Minutes... 1 pit stop  ??? ???

I hope that champ races will be on a longer distance... right? I really don't like pit strategy in a sprint race, but I guess that is only to test this mod properly... H@l knows what he does  ;D ;D

However Suzuka is one of my favourite track, so if you put the server online after the GTL race, I will surely make some laps tonight :)

Cu :)

I think an end of season 3hr endurance race at Silverstone with day and night time racing could be fun with both GTC and LMP2 cars on the track :-)

I want to see how the cars do at a 35 min race with x2 fuel to test the water for possible 70 min races with normal fuel in the championship.

Radical seems to be a little quicker than the Porsche. Haven't driven the Lola much because of the restricted view.

1:47.689 best so far with race fuel offline.

I picked the radical as i thought it would be slightly slower than the more modern lola and porsche.

that was an exciting race, not sure if anybody else took on new tyres at the pitstop, but practicing offline earlier in the week i was losing 1.5+ secs per lap towards end of race so thought as we had to make a stop i would put new boots on as well as some fuel, seemed to pay off as i started catching a couple of faster people towards the end. i find these cars are quick but are easier to follow someone closely than the 88 f1's (i always end up spinning under brakes following some one closely in the 88 f1's)

had an annoying bleeping sound when ever i was out on track tonight, done a bit of investigating and traced it to the rockfire gameport to usb converter that i use for my homemade switch panel for extra buttons, the slider switch on it had been accidently knocked to a diferent position, which messed up the button mappings, so must have been selecting something without knowing it!

Should be back for next weeks event.
The old boys did OK tonight filling the three steps of the podium, but next week we'll look to improve on that & make it a Team Oldie 1-2-3-4. ;)

First of all, I checked the replay, and I've to say that inside the cockpit I had a different feeling about the overtake of Jose. It was a good manouvre, probably a bit risky, but surely not unfair. I can consider it a race contact.

About the race, I can only say that I have to be more calm during the first laps. I started with medium front and rear, and I was pushing too much to keep Jose's pace... without success...
I did a lot of mistakes during the first laps, accumulating a disastrous delay by Jose. Even GT passed me, but I followed to push, and most important, I followed to do mistakes every lap. Before the pit stop, I was 17 seconds behind Jose, and 4 or 5 by Gt, so I hoped they would have changed their tyres... and guess they did it.
Back again in the leading position, I saw that my advantage was approximately 4.5 secs, but I started again to do some mistakes, so in about 3 laps, Jose catched me. I resisted for 2 or 3 laps, and than he found a tiny window of opportunity, and passed me with a slight contact between our cars with only 2 laps to go (nothing unfair as I said before). So, grats for your brave Jose ;)

Cu :)

Qualied in 3rd and was soon in 2nd when Manteos went wide at 130R. Was still comfortably holding 2nd until the pitstop when unluckily H@L's car was right in front of me and I couldn't get out after refuelling ::) Lost interest and concentration after that and finally ran out of fuel on the last lap  ::)

Like the cars, although I still reckon the Radical is too quick (thought these GTWeb cars were supposed to be balanced). I've also had enough of pitstops as all they ever seem to do is ruin races.

I've to disagree in part GT.
I've tried the Porsche the night before the race, and I was comfortably on the same laptimes of the Radical in race fuel. I was with Jamera on the server, turning in Practice 2: 1.45.8xx. Same laptime of the Radical. Probably the RSR is a bit slower on the straight, but I'm able to be more consistent in race pace with it. I picked the Radical cause the previous race I drove the Porsche, and I would like to test both the cars in race.
Now I realized that my choice would be probably the RSR, cause I find it simply easier to drive, even if seems very slightly slower on the single lap.
Obviously these are only my early impressions on this mod, but in Barcelona was the same for me, and I was maybe even sligtly faster on the quali lap with the RSR.
The only one that seems to be a bit disadvantaged in my opinion is Lola, but I'm not able to drive it by cockpit view, so my judgement it's not so revealing.

Cu :)

Edit: About the pits, I can say that I hate to do the strategy before a race, but in a 70 mins race they're part of the game. At the opposite I'm absolutely against the pit in a 35-40 mins race, and I guess (if I understood well what H@l said) we won't apply this rule for the sprints.
Do you keep the volume of your pit crew on GT? It helps to understand if something goes wrong when you push the "pit in" button (admitting that you use it). Sometimes they say something like: "Repeat, I don't hear you", or sometimes they say nothing... in these cases if you go into the pit lane, you have a 90% of pit failure. Using these small expedients, I never experienced troubles like this... Maybe I'm just a bit lucky ;)
Said that, I bet the same will happen to me in the next race... LOL  ;D ;D ;D
