1  Everything Else / Chit Chat / Re: G29 deal on this weekend (27/28 Feb) on: March 26, 2016, 10:21:20 PM +0000
I don't know if this will be useful to anyone but just in case....

PC World/Currys will be selling the G29 on Monday 28 March at £99. It is just for one day and is still showing at £179 as I write.

Seems a bargain to me and good luck in getting one if you try!

Here are some alternatives.

I am an iTunes user so have no experience of using any of these. Good Luck!

Hi Wiltshire Tony,

I do this with iTunes which you can download free for your PC. It's not everyone's favourite piece of software but it will allow you to sync your new ipod with your PC and then decide which of your existing MP3 files you wish to transfer. You then have the option to add more apps, music or updates if you wish.

Hope this helps.
4  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: Wednesday Assetto Corsa Fun - 16th July 2014 - DTM at Mugello on: July 17, 2014, 10:47:49 AM +0100
I am well off the pace here and things don't feel right although better than the Lotus 49 last week. There seems to be no consistency in the feel of the car and controller from one session to the next. As a result I am guessing where to brake from one lap to the next.

My oldish i7 920 computer is also struggling with the graphics and there has been a 'glitchy' corner on both the tracks I have raced at so far. At Mugello it is the chicane after the two fast right-handers midway through the lap. Is anyone else seeing this? Picnic will tell me to update my gfx card and is probably correct. AC looks pretty and runs at about 50fps for most of the lap until I hit a particular section of each track.

Perhaps GTR2 flattered me as a driver and this shows my lack of talent more realistically. I am not going to waste many more weeks drifting around at the back, seconds off the pace, worrying about falling off rather than racing hard unless I find some solutions soon.

Hi Tony,

I am very new to AC and used this to help me with my G25. Probably not much help but worth a try?

Much later in than anticipated after a work event. I couldn't keep the thing on the track for two laps running anyway so good luck to all those who are now racing. Should be free for next week I hope.

Brand new software, new car and new track layout for me so vertical learning curve (if vertical can be a curve). My observations so far:
The new Silverstone layout is horrible.

Car control is really hard - reminds me of learning GPL in the old days. I have not driven two 'fast' laps back to back yet. There is no feel to braking at all. FF is really good through my old G25 though. My fastest time so far is plain embarrassing. I assume we use the hardest (Pro?) mode with all help turned off?

I fear my old, but usually fast enough computer is struggling. I get a nasty glitch at the end of the start straight just as you turn right.

No idea which version of the car I have defaulted to or how I change that - will investigate today.

If I can improve enough over the weekend, I shall try to trundle round at the back on Wednesday. Haven't looked at the online stuff yet.

I know what a time and effort it is to run these things, thanks for sorting things out so quickly such that we can all race and chat again.

Second that. Thanks Dave and anyone else involved. I visit frequently even though my opportunities to race are limited again atm.

to PROF there's not enough words I can say to make up for the damage I caused u really I'M SORRY

Don't worry about it Apex. It was my job to overtake safely. Just my luck to catch you there and not on the straight!  Cheesy Cheesy
There were only two other cars to avoid on the longest lap of the year and I still messed up. Still kicking myself.

Forgot to congratulate H@L - you deserved it - great speed on the Mulsanne.

Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory there. A minute ahead with a perfect car and went offline in my foolish rush to avoid/lap Apex just in the wrong part of the track. Crash was inevitable and caused loads of damage.

Heart wasn't in it after ages in pits for repairs so quit.

Happy Christmas to all.

Just as my knee is getting better....

Not a big fan of x2 wear/fuel but likely to be tempted  Smiley

GT1 Lister has worked for me in the past.

Add Picnic's reason to Spanner's to get my reason.

I shall be racing less/not racing in the coming weeks to try to help a damaged knee repair.
