The two cars coming together was because I had spun in front of them and was going backwards along the straight. They were trying to avoid me. Sorry you got caught up in it. As i said it was the only time I got that bit wrong, and it caused chaos. Sorry for that.

Because of the chaos I was able to get to 12th by the end of the second lap. Then I put a wheel on the grass on the aproach to the straight and next thing I knew I was going backwards. Sorry to whoever hit me but once it span I was a passenger. In over 80 laps that was the only time I got a wheel on the grass there! But had been shunted from behind on a couple of occasions and had somebody pull back onto the track in front of me who I hit so may have had some damage.

Well the best I can manage is low 1.50's in the Capri. Have sorted out the stuttering track problem I had by dropping to Direct X 7. See you all later.

On my machine the textures improve when I drop to direct x 8 but even with very high frame rates the track still seems to jump in places, just like lag except offline.

Can you set up a 906? I've never managed it!

Some of the lagging might be down to the Simbin servers at the moment. I was lagging for the first time ever at nogrip on Wednesday and Friday I had to drop out of a GTR2 race because it was so bad I was getting an FPS of 1! And I have 10 meg cable broadband!

Still not working for me. Nearly ten past eight so guess i wont be racing.

Same problem with the GTR2 server as well so guess it is a Simbin problem. Is there a way round it if it doesn't sort itself by race time?

At the moment I can't get into the GTL lobby to join the server.

Well I have got slower! Same car, same set up but can now only do low 1.18's when I was doing high 1.17's! But at least I am consistant so hopefully it should all be okay!

I think that is what the patch for the skin pack fixed. Standard cars work on the server because Alex and I have tried them.

Looks like I am quickest in the Jag and I also have more chance of keeping it on the track than the Elan. Can't drive the Vette at all! Best is 1.17.9 at the moment but will get quicker when I play with the set up I hope.

Nice to see you here Lee. I think you will enjoy it here. Very fast racers and usually very clean racing. I race four times a week and this is the hardest of them all!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to say what I want to say but I will do it anyway and if it is not I guess it will get deleted.

I have been racing online now for 18 months and although I am not quick I can usually keep the car on the track. A couple of weeks ago I enjoyed one of the best races ever when I was able to race in company with some usually very fast guys purely because my car was quicker. But being able to race with them, not hit them and spend lap after lap actually racing them was just great fun. I knew they were not going to hit me so I could concentrate on racing and not worry about what they were doing.

So I am going to point out what I think the differences between racing on a server like this and racing on a public server or the AI are.

Firstly you are not racing against anybody, you are racing with them. You are not racing so you can enjoy yourself. You are racing so everybody enjoys themselves.

Every other car on the track is being driven by somebody like you who wants exactly the same as you do. To have a good race and to have fun. Yes you want to be quick, yes you want to finish as high up as possible. But so does everybody else. Respect that.

Don't try and hold every corner, whatever the consequences. Accept that the guy beat you to it because he was quicker. Let him get by and follow him, try and get him back. On a server like this you are no longer just trying to beat the guy in front you are trying to race him and beat him. There is a huge difference.
