Hi Billy
I'm using the latest Logitech software downloaded from their site (lgs510_x64). I've tried various previous versions without success but not, as far as I can remember, the one on the disk. I've also tried several different compatibility settings.
I'm not too bothered now about the G25 problem as I only turn to GPL once a fortnight for the UKGPL race and the procedure described above provides a reliable fix.

I'll try some of the other servers as suggested. Presumably UKGPL8 is new this season.

Hi again
Basic specs W10 64 home; i7 5820; GTX980ti; 100MB cable broadband. All software is on SSDs

I do have a profile for GPL set up in the Profiler which is launched prior to starting

The procedure I have to follow now is uninstall and then reinstall the Profiler software, then update USB drivers as per the following guidance
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SV0kYPRLboE

The network error message that I'm getting I don't recall seeing before - at least not since the days of dial up
I've checked the firewall settings which have the requisite ticks against GPL

I haven't tried a reinstall yet and am a bit reluctant to do that as everything else in GPL is OK  (works fine offline) apart from the network problem. Maybe on another server it will be OK as some of the works drivers seem to be having similar problems

I have a really annoying habit of pressing Escape instead of Shift R.
I've done the same myself more than once so now I take the precaution of covering the ESC key with a bottle top or similar.
Not that I've had to do that this season since I seem stuck with the 100051 network Error message when trying to join the server.
Coupled with the fact that I have to go through a 5 minute routine of uninstalling and reinstalling software and drivers to get my G25 recognized everytime I fire up GPL, I'm beginning to think it's time to hang up my racing goggles.
Maybe I'll get my fix from Project Cars 2 which now has some historical track layouts including Silverstone, Rouen and Hockenheim as well as the 67 Lotus 49 and 51

For reasons I don't understand I couldn't join the server via iGor or via IP. Haven't had that problem for a very long time.

Good luck to those that could connect. I noticed Fulvio didn't have much luck either.

I had the same problem trying to join the Privateers.  I kept getting '10051 Error detected on network device' whether I tried to join via IGOR or directly through Multiplayer.
I can't recall seeing this ever before and nothing has changed in my set up since last season.

Looks like I'll be following in Kimi's footsteps with my race ending before it starts. I keep getting '10051 Error detected on network device' whether I try to join via IGOR or directly through Multiplayer.

I can't remember seeing that before and nothing has changed on my set up since last season.

No worries though - I bought myself an Oculus Rift a few weeks ago so I'll go and play Dirt Rally on that.

After the solo racing at Nuremberg, Mosport was a welcome change with action all the way -though mainly defending against would be overtakers rather than challenging for position. Great fun nonetheless.
Billy's Ferrari in particular constantly disappearing then reappearing to buzz in my speakers like an angry wasp.

Unusually the race proceeded without any self inflicted disasters and with my first top six finish of the season rather than the Al Pease memorial trophy

As expected this turned into the usual lonely endurance race so I was glad I hadn't wasted any tokens. A few offs and spins but no damage to myself or others.
I did manage some sub 10 minute laps but still haven't broken the 9 minute barrier. And now to catch up with 'Line of Duty' Grin
8  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 31 (2017) Graduates Cup Privateers (67) - Silverstone - Apr 9 on: April 09, 2017, 10:29:24 PM +0100
I didn't get off to a great start with the usually reliable Brabham engine blowing up on L1. Because of the noise from the surrounding engines I didn't hear the explosion and trundled on thinking that the G25 was playing up again as a stream of cars passed by.
Some fun racing later with Phil but disaster when I somewhat ambitiously tried to follow JH past Phil and braked too late sending him off the track. So massive apologies to JH oops
But i got my comeuppance shortly after when, while trying to avoid a stranded Phil, I swerved across the track and ended up on my roof. SnG No2 and end of race.

I came across and installed the 4gb patch on SRMZ which seems to have solved that problem. Now there is only the problem of the G25 playing up again to sort out. I really should just stick to Project Cars (or Flight sims) cursing
I managed to get the wheel to work and did 20 minutes practice without any problems just before the race. I then closed GPL in order to restart via IGOR only to find the the G25 was again (how can I put this politely?) .. rendered inoperable.
I spent the next half hour trying the various stratagems that have worked in the past (swapping USB sockets, going through the driver update process, closing and restarting the logitech profiler, restarting the PC) but all to no avail - sometimes nothing worked, sometimes just the axes but not the buttons.
I assume this is in someway linked to the mid week W10 update but the effects always seem to be random defying both logic and consistency so it is difficult to pinpoint a cause, much less a cure.

Hi John
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it didn't work for me.

One other thing I've noticed is that both Spa and Spa67 are listed in the GPL/tracks folder only Spa67 appears as on option in the track selection on GEM. Not sure if this is relevant.

I get the 'Could not initialize the replay system' error message when I try to start at Spa67. I have raced at this track before without problems and I've just tested other tracks without this occurring.
So it seems to be an isssue just at this track. 'Replay memory override' is set to 180000 in the core ini.

Any suggestions?

13  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 31 (2017) Graduates Cup Privateers (67) - Zandvoort - Mar 12 on: March 13, 2017, 11:10:00 AM +0000
I missed out on qualifying as I kept getting the  'You are not qualified to drive in this race' message. Apparently this was because I had not ticked the  'PatchCarset for sound' box in GEM as I discovered with a couple of minutes to spare.
I'm not sure why this was necessary as I'm pretty sure that I've raced without that being ticked on previous occasions but I have been moving the GPL folder around after installing another SSD so maybe that had changed the settings somehow.
Anyway I was glad not to miss a race at my favourite track in my favourite car - those fast, sweeping bends being a refreshing change after the Start Stop of Monaco.

Accustomed as I am to starting on the back row, I was not disadvantaged by the lack of a qualifying time and indeed, and not unexpectedly , it turned out to be the safest place. What was unexpected was Pepe doffing his cap to let the backmarkers through.
Unfortunately such gentlemanly behaviour was not replicated by the others ahead of me.

Like Walter I found myself losing grip after the halfway mark although tyre temperatures were not excessive. Must have been oil on the track following the earlier pileups and a couple of minor offs ensued.
I eased off a bit which allowed Walter to suddenly appear in my mirrors so the last lap was a bit tense but the pace of the Ferrari kept me ahead.

I wasn't expecting to finish the race so opted to save my tokens by taking the BRM. Starting at the back of the grid I  was taken by surprise by a near stationary Pepe as the incident on the start straight was some distance ahead and the road directly in front was clear.
I was even more surprised and amused when Pepe reset to see that his engine was still blazing away as he drove off.
Thereafter I was kept busy watching out for a constant stream of lappers and holding Walter at bay. On the final lap I ran wide at Tabac and Walter sneaked through but almost immediately had the misfortune to encounter the hay bales at Rascasse allowing me to take back the place.
All in all a surprisingly enjoyable race.

Thanks Billy - no it didn't make any difference.  Not sure how many laps Michael and I battled, but I couldn't get past him!  Was fun, though. Smiley
It was 25 laps by my count. I don't think I've ever had to concentrate so hard in a race. And not only because of Ronnie on my gearbox but also because ot the number of lappers.
There are quite a few Works standard drivers in this division making life interesting for us backmarkers. I can see Monaco being quite a challenge for the front runners in that respect. Patience will be the key.
