All fine here Clive, how's yours?
PnG v3!! Have I been away that long, still on v1 here!
Don't seem to find time for any serious siming these days, in fact don't seem to find time to do anything! Keep promising to restore two bikes lying in my garage, but not a spanner has been lifted yet. But they are top of the to do list, so sim racing is on the back burner for now.
Good luck for the race, and be careful with the farmer's crops!!

SimRacing In General / netKar-Pro / nKPro racing CD-ROM

Was being dragged around the Metro Centre recently and the stepson wanted something from GAME. Whilst in there I noticed nKPro Racing CD-ROM for a fiver so thought it was worth a look. Only just tried it and it seems quite good, although maybe a bit arcadey. Is this the same simulation? I just downloaded Brands and Nurby addons and they seem to work fine.
Hello again BTW, it's been sometime!

Everything Else / Real World Racing / A couple of Youtube standouts

OK, there's a mountain of footage out there, but I hope I'm not boring anyone by drawing your attention to a couple I've come across recently that stand out, for me anyway?! Firstly some footage from last years TT. Great onboard footage in 720p and it's not often you get two evenly matched riders circulating like that, so you have both 'cockpit' view and 'chase' view at the same time. Watch at 1min50 for cement dust being thrown in your face just as you tip in to a 170mph blind right hander! Also at 3mins11 you might be able to pick out me and my Dad sitting on the stone wall on the left!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOTEVXeLDHA&feature=player_embeddedAnd then this is from the 1997 NW200 in Northern Ireland. Best head cam footage I've ever seen. It really gives you an appreciation of how the riders get battered around by the bumpy public road surface. Also it's amazing to think that this is in fairly damp condions!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8aAGiE0arw&feature=player_embedded

Awesome stuff at Oulton last night Ken, I'm surprised it took until the last lap for that to go pear shaped quite honestly. More than one brown trouser moment! You must have been laughing all the way to the finish line Nice to have a few SROU faces there again - what a car/ track combination that is. Absolutely James, great racing and yes I did have a little chuckle to myself as I trundled over the line!!

Yes T2 is a sod, I use a lot of trail brake with throttle on to try to prevent it snatching in the compression. The chicane is hard too and I am trying to do the same as you. It's difficult getting the balance right to avoid loosing too much by braking early.
6.45 is a bit quick for me, but see you later!

In to the 53's using the 'quickshift' technique I have read about. What's that then Ken? BTW, what fuel are you using to get the 53s? Only minimum fuel for that Paul. The 'quickshift' thing is holding the paddle back ready for the next gear and waiting to hit the limiter. Then it just slips in semi-auto style. Then release and hold again for the next upshift. It does give a slight advantage and seemingly it is a technique that is used in the real world, allegedly!!

Hahaha yes, or the only Skippy with KERS - either way it's quite depressing. Good thread in the Skippy section of the iR forums about technique and setups etc btw so I'm going to study that before Monday!
Just managed a 54 dead, with splits showing an optimal 53.5. I have found using a bit of the old GPL style throttle on braking helps. I have rear ARB at 4. Could possibly drop to 3 but any lower and it starts to hop on the springs if you don't catch the slide soon enough. Any other nuggets you've picked up would be most welcome.

I don't know if you were still there but some Nicklas chap came on and put in a 1:52.7!! Obviously cheating in some way.
I'm going to try and run this combo as much as possible while it's on this week so hope to catch you on a praccy server again soon!
Aye, I did see that, he must have been using the Fosters loop?!! Will watch out for you on the servers
