Dont see how you can compare ramp angles without including clutch No's , are they not interactive ?

Pleased to finish 4th after a few spins early on , down to I think cold tyres plus the mass retirements by almost all runners for whatever reason  Shocked

Grats to the podium boys

Just watched the replay,  sorry to see Dave R's run of misfortune continue when he caught my spinning car on Lap2 and crashed out , and I never felt a thing !

Followed Paul for some early laps and you were warping bad , no probs with any other contenders though I didn't see many except all the lappers who were all very kind to me and a pleasure to "race"  with .

Liking the track mods but not thoses poles which were starting to make me go dizzy after about 1/2 distance , possibly some kind of "strobe effect "

Crappy set up which got worse as the race progressed and fuel lightened , not quite shopping trolley performance but not far off . struggled through to the end, I seemed to spend most of the time being lapped by the pro's .

Decided the Honda just doesn't like my style  Roll Eyes

Just to confirm , is ii simply a matter of deleting the Zeltweg 71 track folder then add the new 70 one ? or do we need to do other stuff ?

TIA

I have always had Zeltweg 71 and always works fine !    Zelt71.dat   52Mb

Do I need to change it for this race ?

Fran , you are so correct.  I also wonder why the Connaught or the Vanwall does not have slightly better brakes than the others.

I believe one of them was actually the first Grand Prix car to have Disc Brakes.  I dont think they were as good as anything that came later, but surely far better than the Drum braked cars.

well done pods, that was a nice finish for you too Fran. No engine blow ups this time well done.  Smiley

and to all the finishers. sorry for any one that didnt make it.  Seems a simple track, but not easy at all in the '55s .

Paul the Torpedo move seldom works in your favour  Grin

I brake with my right foot so I'm a 61% Front driver . Seem to work.

It is strange that so many of us who drive a real life manual gearbox in our daily life, opt for left foot braking in GPL?  I have tried left foot braking on my Ford Mondeo on a VERY quiet road and at low speed. The result was frightening and scary!!!!  DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!
Quite why we can drive sims with left foot braking so comfortably is a mystery to me. lol

Unlike the brakes which are hydraulic the Mondeo has a mechanical clutch with no hydraulic assistance , the clutch pedal requires quite a lot of pressure to depress compared to the brakes wich need much less  .
Your left foot mussell memory has become tuned to use a lot more pressure to overcome the clutch resistance so if used for the brakes with there hydraulic assistance we automatically apply too much force .

Left foot braking in tin tops was common with the race & rally drivers of yesterday , just needs practise to perfect the art , as we all did with GPL when we were beginers

A new qually record had me making a tardy start from the back of the grid and by lap 7 found myself in 12th place ( amazing progress since I hadn't actually overtaken anyone ) then on the back straight the strain on the 3ltr V12 Honda cried "enough"  and popped a "header"  ( whatever that is ) and I rolled to a halt in a cloud of steam ( coming from me not the car ) .

Pity because uptill then I was in with a good chance of doubling my points tally .

Really have no idea how to get the rice burner going properly , perhaps I should try the 30/85 trick but I suspect maybe my choice of gear ratios was the worst ever .

Halfway through the race and my pedals decide to throw a wobbly , ended with no brakes so i retired .
