Nice to race here again! With the flag dropping quickly, I gave it too much throttle and got a slow start, with too much wheelspin, allowing Tris by.
No matter how hard I tried, I could not pass safely - I didn't want to just throw one up the inside of my oAo team-mate and take us out before half-distance. We spent many laps nose to tail.
Eventually, I went off near 2/3rds distance and couldn't get back to him before the end, as my front tyres started to overheat. My gearing was also a bit too short, which didn't help at trying to get alongside, despite having a faster car.
See you all next season!

Didn't manage to set a good Q time and it bit me - I couldn't avoid a spun Ziu on lap 1 and bumping him bent my RF tyre to the right, giving the car the handling of a shopping trolley - one which didn't want to turn left on a circuit that goes to the left! Doing my best impression of Alonso in 2005/2006, but without enough lock in the diff to get the required oversteer on traction (ran a 60/85/1), I managed to get back up to third, before losing it in the esses, with four laps to go, while pushing for a faster lap time. I got stuck on the invisible divider placed there to stop blatant corner cutting.

Grats guys who finished. Apologies to Jonny. I was in the lead and lost concentration twice, spinning through the bump and then into the double chicane once I was back in front. I had seen he was behind me, but then saw Pribluda said -2 yards and thought he might have gone along side into the second part, so I was slow sticking to a 2 wide line and he bumped me (netcode lag making it a flip), going into the cones himself. There's not really enough space to go two wide there anyway, so I was still a bit frazzled from catching the hay bale and going through the cones. I costed us both a likely 1-2.

Around the rest of the circuit there are walls and trees that can end your race too............
That was the case in the real life too ! The picture under my nickname at the left was taken (...by me) at Montlhéry in 1971. Great picture David! Looks like the track is quite accurate to your picture as well.

Thought I would have a setup here, but it turns out I had only raced the Lotus 43 (probably in a UKGPL race a long time ago). Probably should have taken that car, but I wanted to try the Ferrari 312 as it is best suited for this track. Downloaded a Paul Skingley setup and set about tweaking it for the race. Tried to re-calibrate my wheel and it was looking for the old G25 for some odd reason (no pedals), so I had to rejoin and that left me only with time for an outlap. Start went well and I was right in middle of the train going into Ostkurve. If I had been a little less on Bastian's tail then I could have made it though, but span in avoidance. Made it up to 2nd on the next lap and just had to hold on to chase down Axel and fight for the win. I had wanted to just not make a major error and thus I did that on lap 4, catching the LR tyre on the grass into Ostkurve and losing a wheel. PS setups do like to hang the rear out to dry, heh. Cookie had the same spin later on, but survived, as he span from the tarmac and was thus able to hit the fence side on. It turned into a race of attrition in the end and it was silly of me to lose it so early!

Wanted to take L33-Climax here but didn't have a setup, so went back to L43-BRM. Would have preferred to take that later in the season at somewhere like Stardust.
Tris was all over me like a rash in the first few laps and I couldn't shake him, with Clive along for the ride in the draft. Once Tris went off, it was a calm drive to the finish.
Hope to join in for more of the races from now on.

For me, I noticed that it took a long time for the tyres to come in. Around that point, I noticed that my fronts were overheating, while of course in the Honda the rears are usually lighting up at corner exits anyway. It's around this point that I was finally able to pull away and try to chase the leaders, trying to be smoother to keep the temps in check. I had raised the pressures on the Riekkinen setup by 1 psi (two half clicks), from 19 to 20, so the fronts were a click too far. I wanted to finish without any spins and managed to do so! Thanks for letting me by Clive, I could see you were sliding rather a lot and trying to pass you otherwise made me quite nervous!

Yes, a lucky result for us in that circumstance. Thanks for amending it for me Cookie. When I was dropped (lap 18) I had a skip on the back straight and that lap showed as 1.5 seconds faster in S3. After that, I did a fastest lap of 1:36.79, and by the end I could just about see Pelle in the distance when I was on the back straight (so roughly 10 seconds back). Lost three seconds on the last lap and crossed the line with 0.1 gallons / 6 psi fuel

Well, a lesson in frustration.. chalk it up to 'fuel pump failure', 'oil pump failure' or whatever retirement type doesn't exist in GPL . I was happy to qualify 2nd, split by Pelle and Rob by one second each. Then the router resets on me when I go to do my race warm up lap. The long length of the Nurburgring lets me get back into the server for the race. I proceed to double upshift 2nd and 3rd to then fall to 4th, which isn't too bad a place to be anyway. Then a rare occurrence - a spin from Rob! Followed by a spin for Pelle and Tris being caught up; I'm in the lead! Feeling confident that I can bring it home for the win, the thought enters my mind - please don't disconnect on me.. it happened twice in a row earlier on Hauls2 trying the 67x.. Lo and behold, a few corners later at Schwalbenschwanz.. Edit: Fibre can't come soon enough (That or a clean sweep of my systems for spyware!)

Are there any well known/well done/new tracks that aren't on the ukgpl rotation? Could throw some of those in with the lesser used mods
