Thanks guys. I've tried the DVD key on Steam but it doesn't work. I've only got the disc with DVD key, not the original case & manual with the online key.
If i buy it again on Steam (its only a fiver) can i use it to race online again?

And whats that Raceroom thing all about on Steam?
7  Everything Else / Chit Chat / Hi again on: January 06, 2014, 08:26:14 PM +0000
Just dropping by after sometime now - found my copy of GTL yesterday and fancied another blast. Had some great races over the years with you guys and miss the racing.

How the hell do i get GTL to work on Windows 7 though??

The exact one  Wink

Ok thanks. Looks like it won't fit my GTX8800 though. Sad

When I looked at the images it looked a bit dodgy for fitting such a long card in. Shame as I wouldn't mind a new case with good cooling and some USB ports at the front.

Nevermind, the 8800GT just fits in nice and snug - anything bigger and i reckon you would have issues.
The Coolermaster CM690 should suit your needs though Simon - good cooling and a good looker to boot  Wink

Monitor resolution will also have a big effect on frame rates. I'm guessing you are each running at different resolutions.

1650 x 1080 here

I have an Intel E8200 (stock 2.6ghz) overclocked and running at 3.35ghz - this maybe why...?

Hi Tibs, those symtoms you describe are usually associated with an overheating GPU. Make sure you have good airflow through the case. The 8800GT does run hot and noisy.
But if you say the issues have gone away with a re-install of the graphics card driver, then you should be ok.

How's the system running now?
Have you seen a massive framerate increase in GTL?
I hope it has - im sure you will be able to get so much more out of racing sims now  Smiley
14  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 5 Season Fun Run - Thermalito - Jul 31 on: August 01, 2008, 11:27:33 PM +0100
I enjoyed this track - good racing from all, but found the Mustang just couldn't cut it on the bends aswell as some of the other cars, tending to want to corner sideways lol, but strait line speed made up for that a little - good fun though.
I found myself dropping from 3rd to 7th after some great battles with PRibiero, Geoffers, and a few others, but the tyres seemed to be on meltdown by the last few laps.
Finally lost out to Alex on the last lap after a good tustle, running out of fuel right on the final turn  Undecided

Good stuff guys  Cool can't wait for the new season  Kiss
15  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 5 Track/Mod Test - Crystal Palace - Jul 24 on: July 25, 2008, 03:03:09 PM +0100
Gutted to have missed this race.
I didn't get in untill 8:30ish so managed to log on just in time, but got a couple of drivers were constantly loading in the garage, so i couldn't join.
I think it may have been something to do with the Ferrari update, in that i had the old one  Undecided...
