Would love to take the caravan for the weekend but I think we are away so it may be just a day visit for me if I can make it at all.

It's been a couple of years since I last turned a wheel in anger due to things like a house move, a couple of bereavements, refurbishing a Sega Sit-Down Arcade cab and writing and publishing my first book. Oh and a couple of grandchildren as well.
This afternoon I fired the beast up and did some offline practise in AC and GPL. I even installed a few more circuits in GTL.
It took a few laps to get to grips with things in GPL again and my new chair is rather more mobile than my old one so heavy braking and acceleration usually resulted in sliding away from my desk.
At the end of it I was a second off my best at Zandvoort but a couple of tenths quicker at Watkins, which suggests to me that more unpredictability and chair sliding will follow.
Hope to see you on track soon, now in 1920x1080 of course.
Oh, and I installed the track gap fix which came out around the time I last drove. Are there any other add-ons I need to look at?
Thanks

I'm sure that I've heard several people speak those words.
I'm sure they did. Congratulations on the book too. Thanks Clive Sod the book I can't wait to see the man cave We demand photos Welcome back Mike, can't you use the Sega Racing cab if you're short of space Pics will follow. I can use the Sega cab as it has GPL installed but it is mainly emulation of older arcade games like Outrun, Sega Rally and Ferrari F355 Challenge so the PC is not as good as my GPL / AC PC. It also has my old wheel in with no FFB.

Happy New Year everyone and I know you're all thinking it. I really miss Mike and wish he would return. Well, I will sometime in early 2021 once my game room is finished. It's been a slog after moving almost a year ago into a new house and struggling to get things done in lockdown when work was busier than ever, but there is light at the end of the tunnel and my studio, workshop and arcade will be done in the next few weeks. Once my arcade cabs are in place I will know if I have room for a racing rig or not, in addition to the Sega Racing cab I have. It's a big beast. I also took 2 years to write and publish my first book and that was a huge time sink but very satisfying now it is for sale. https://www.colecochameleon.orgHope to see you all on track soon.

I might try some higher resolution pics as these do not show the true crispness of the screen.
I see you've done the same as me. Even though we drive right hand drive cars, we set up GPL as a left hand drive car.

UKGPL / UKGPL Announcements / Re: Season 36 1969 F1 Extra - Registration

I would like to take part but I'm currently living in my caravan until my new house is ready, hopefully at the end of January.
Might take me a while to get straight and set up so I will register at whatever point I can race.
Have fun in the meantime.

Had a spin about 5 laps in and got stuck n a wall, something I've never done before here. Reset and spent the race chasing down Dave and Billy. Billy had a moment as I was closing in but Dave was just too far ahead and I had a moment on the last lap after 28 laps of pushing. Fun race and an enjoyable season overall. A shame there were low numbers for most of it so perhaps a different mod for Tuesdays next season? Maybe F2s, I've never tried them. Also, please don't start the season until I have moved house and set up my kit.

I blew an engine on lap3 which put me near the back and about 17 seconds down on Dave.
Had a good chase and some consistent laps to catch and pass him which kept my concentration high.
The last 5 laps or so I felt a little down on power so tried to look after things to the end with Dave buzzing around in the tow.
Fun race and less lonely than normal.

Fun race, if not authentic to 1965 F1 (not a criticism).
I was just about managing to hold on to the back of the train until I had a silly spin and then I was pegging Clive, Ziu and AnGex at about 8 to 10 seconds until I had another spin and just focused on keeping ahead of a fuel heavy Tris.

After a touch of the rear of James(sorry your braking point is too early compared with mine)my car have lost 10km in speed.
No problem Fran. After a tow I was travelling way faster than normal and had a car along side so maybe I braked a little earlier. Great racing. Only slightly spoiled by a screen freeze on the final lap, just before the last corner.
Such bad luck Billy. I had to take it a little easier in the corners as the cars were nose to tail.
Everybody was quite sensible through the turns and not going for silly moves as there was no need. Good fun and then a lonely drive home hoping the engine lasted.
