Bought a dog a couple of months ago and running around with him after a hard day at work is more fun than sitting in front of a PC. Did no laps practice and was thinking about cutting the walk short to get home for 9pm but too happy being outside on a cold dry night.
Hope to make the next one.

Whoops. Qualified 4th and really enjoyed the 49b around Mexico. Jumped onto the grid then thought "Oh no - fuel!" Pressed escape and checked my fuel (I had enough anyway), but then found you only get one shot at joining the grid on GPL so I missed the race. Not ideal when part of the reason to race was to stress test the server. Sorry!

Leaving the lag to one side, I really enjoyed driving the 69 car. I have lots of sim racing experience in downforce cars and once I had straightened out the default setup it felt like a cross between GPL 67 and the single seaters in Live For Speed (specifically FO8 if anyone has it). You could rotate it easily making it nicely chuckable but in the high speed the downforce lets you lean on the tyres more and it seemed to respond well to my LFS "Busy Wheel" driving style.
"Good Job!" to whoever did the 69 mod.
Makes more sense to have a 69 league next season in place of the 66 one. Apart from the huge draft available 66 has nothing you can't get from 65s or 67s. If UKGPL does do a 69 league next season I hope we include some twisty tracks, not just big fast ones like Solitude. Would be interested to see if we can solve the lag issue.
Speaking of which, I understand that we run these races on people's domestic connections. Is there no possibility of sorting out a dedi host? If it got rid of the lag I would gladly throw a few quid in.

Very happy to get my first UKGPL win in the bag. Pole position was very important but I got a bit bogged down at the start and expected Clive to come steaming past. I was on the outside of Copse so had the better opportunity for drive and took the lead. The first 20 laps were just watching Clive in my mirror and pacing myself to him. I have a very stable 65 set which I use everywhere (just fettling gears etc) and I knew as long as I made no mistakes I could get good drive and he couldn't touch me.
Then I heard a Honda. "Where the devil has this blighter come from?" Tim was flying and I had to pick up the pace to stay ahead. Tim was rarely in a straight line and ultimately faster but he only got close on the final lap and I was able to hold him off and nab the points.
The real heroes are Tim as he was easily the fastest today and Clive for driving beyond the capabilities of the BT7 to keep right in the hunt.

I didn't manage a finish either.
Start was good from 5th into 3rd by T1 and seemed to be able to pull a couple of seconds a lap on PT but of course nowhere the front two. I started making little mistakes though and eventually was caught and passed by Clive. I took my stop after that but then the engine gave way.
Love the track though.
