1  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 10 British Club Racing Series - Castle Combe - Dec 13 on: December 14, 2010, 06:41:01 AM +0000
Regarding the strange DQ i had 2 warnings of cutting , the last time i played GTL i am sure that it is 3 before a stop/go , however i was not notified that i had a stop/go .

I am sure this happened when i ran GTL leagues at GBSim most annoyingly someone would get a stop/go on the last lap in the same circumstances as i had ie no cutting .

These short comings are just annoying at the time .

That invisible barrier in the chicane caught me out twice .

Not used to back markers then Goldtop.? I held my normal line and breaking point which as a back marker is going to be earlier than you .
if on the rare occasion i lap a back marker i am ready for early braking from them . I intended to stay on outside as there was plenty of room to overtake me by those leaders catching me .

I had no intention of taking any one off for that i apologize.

Also i was DQ ED for not taking a pits stop even though i had not been notified by the game that i needed to take one with a few laps to go .

I will not be taking part at Brands Hatch in case i get in the way of a leader .  Grin or dont take a pit stop i know nothing about, sometimes Sims are so bad .

Funny you should say that i am faster in a Mini than with the E Type , though i know this track well i find the E Type rather squirmy round the mountain  and approach .
4  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 10 British Club Racing Series - Pembrey - Nov 29 on: November 29, 2010, 09:44:00 PM +0000
No damage Geoffers but i had stalled the engine again i must remember the clutch pedal in future i lost over 30 seconds ,and had the long crawl up to 9 th think i only passed two on the track the rest were sort of going awol ,lol

Did Tony let me by in error i think you thought i was a leader and not the guy behind . Grin

This means its the first track i wont have seen in this configuration so plenty of practice will be required, looking forward to Cadwell as i know it well , but i will keep quiet on that score . Cool

I made a fair start but at the esses lap 1 it went wrong i was behind Phspok with Phil s E behind in my mirror and a distraction which meant sadly i made contact with the Aston, my apologies sir. This caused mayhem behind and i crawled away next to last having made sure the Aston was away first.

So for the second race running i have this attraction for Astons's and had to pick my way through traffic and pass cleanly .
All the race i was chasing an ever smaller dot of the Aston.
Let the leaders through when they caught me including  Jagen till i saw that he was actually several place behind me ,lol, no point chasing and throwing away a good place which was now 10th due to retirements.
The gap now to the Aston was coming down  and i wondered why till i caught Phspok and saw that he was having trouble with the front end and sure enough he went wide at Gerrards giving me 9th, however 4 laps later my fronts were showing signs of wear and i had trips to the out side of Gerrard/esses/and the hairpin and was grateful to see the flag.

Good race all.

Decamps to south Wales and the Gower peninsula.

Don't worry Bill we will have fun at the back my 54's are few and far between with offs at exit of Gerrards/Esses and the long route round the hairpin. scooter

11  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 10 British Club Racing Series - Crystal Palace - Nov 15 on: November 15, 2010, 09:52:06 PM +0000
After a slow and cautious start i worked my way up to 7th  after an E Type spun on S/F straight then having caught Tony' s Aston and following he spun at T1/2 i had no chance to avoid him T-Boned him into a roll ,which blocked the track and caused mayhem as i had stalled and struggled to restart.
Having got the engine fired up i was 10 th passed a Healey Coupe facing the wrong way and then an E type having a moment i ended up behind Tony again on the last lap in 8th .

Again i must say sorry for the roll on the Aston  in RL that was not hard enough to roll a stationary Aston . Huh
12  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 10 British Club Racing Series - Crystal Palace - Nov 15 on: November 15, 2010, 08:51:39 AM +0000
I have manage 2 laps under a minute but most are around 1.00.5 ish  .I too love Palace as a track and race off line there a lot , the way the car seems to slide through some of the bends is lovely.

But i tend to miss the braking point at T1  a lot but i can control it most times keeping it out of the wall .

Nationality now added .
Turn 2 lap one i had to come to a halt to avoid two cars blocking where i was heading lol.
My race ended after several offs which damaged the car so much i had nearly a whole lap to try and get back to the pits , i have never struggled so much to keep a car , A) on the tarmac and B) in a straight line, finally i killed it engine wise out of sight of oncoming cars at the end of the main straight away. Phew everyone missed me .
