1  UKGPL / UKGPL Announcements / Re: Season 28 Professional Trophy Registration on: March 01, 2015, 09:44:03 PM +0000
My PC is failing and need a new one, so i've voted less that 75% for me as its becoming unreliable and doesn't work too often hence my lack of attendance recently. Will dust off the BT11 and have a go
2  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 28 - F2 - FUN - Spa67 - Jan 23 on: January 23, 2015, 09:56:27 PM +0000
Apologies to anyone caught up in my accident at Eau Rouge. No real preesure, just the back end went. Sorry

As for 60fps, i don't mind it, but on my current PC (which is on its way out) i run between 36 and 48 fps on Spa 67 low res version. This makes it a bit juddery to drive and not smooth at all. Thats not to say i don 't like 60fps. Nothing a new PC won't fix.. hopefully later this year

Hi all. Not sure how i managed to miss registration this year and the first race!! My fault.

Have voted for <75% assuming i'm not too late to enter the Championship.

Cheers

A turn 1 exit again.

Oh well, its to be expected in the Novices... oh yeah..its the Pro's. Hard to tell.

On to the next one.

Good job GPL is so good for off-line racing, so i'm off to Kyalami with the Clark, Hill, Surtees and the rest instead.

 Sad
5  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 26 (2014) Professionals Trophy (65) - Spa - Mar 18 on: March 20, 2014, 08:05:45 AM +0000
Just a quick one from me.

Love Spa. In my top 3 GPL tracks and i usually go well here (looking forward to the new accurate version out soon).

Like others, ive other issues in RL, but GPL is a good escape, but wow, that qualifying pace!! i was way off and yet didn't feel i'd done bad laps.

Race is all about hooking up with the big boys at the front with the tow before they escape. I didnt manage to do this, so battled with various people on route to an eventual 2nd. fair driving by all and very enjoyable. Thanks to those involved.

My actual result was 4th really and i was lucky to drive through the leaders carnage some 20 seconds later and pick up 2nd. Thats Spa i guess.

Like Monza, its a must for every season as it produces great racing.

If its in next season, i feel sure we'll be racing the new version which looks fantastic.

Just a sneak in Parabolica  Grin

That was too close Roll Eyes

It was close Cookie, but more my fault than yours. agreed though, 50/50 and we all got away with it in the end. No problem from my end.

Fantastic driving all round i thought. A real credit to 'Pro 65' racing.
7  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 26 (2014) Professionals Trophy (65) - Monza - Feb 18 on: February 18, 2014, 11:46:34 PM +0000
Monza - Surely a 'must' for every UKGPL season. I've had some terrible online races in the last few seasons but Monza is always good fun and restores my faith everytime.

Managed to hang with the leaders, and even lead, during the first 10 laps or so. Everyone was completely fair, early breaking, space given..etc, but man, it was tight at times. Thats the beauty of drafting at Monza though, you can sit there in a group and watch the race unfold.

Had a good race with Cookie for the lead, but had to brake on the inside for Parabolica which i'm never too good at and as we both struggled to get the power down our front wheels touched. No harm done, though Cookie lost a couple of seconds. Next lap, and i put a couple of wheels in the sand at Parabolica and allowed Cookie back through. I knew i had to get him within 2 laps if i could get the tow, otherwise he'd be gone, getting the tow from the group in front - as it ended up, i lost 1/2 a second or more and that was enough for him to get clear and join the others ahead, no hard feelings and glad he was able to take it rightful position at the front.

After that, it became clear that not running in a group was costing me about a second a lap, and new over-heating issues with my left front, were causing the car to under-steer a lot (possible after the tap with Cookie, possibly due to the balance changing as the car got lighter, or just a poor set-up).

Robert was catching me bit by bit and i awaited his arrival to see if we could draft togther and dent the leaders 10+ second lead. As it turned out we couldn't and we both resigned ourselves to fighting for 5th. The racing was clean and fair and great fun, and i even gave Robert the odd raised arm as he came through as we swapped positions. As it is, i missed gear on the start/finish line with 1 lap to go, gave him 1 second on me and it was too much, though he was a lot quicker into Parabolica than me so it was always going to be his position on the last lap.

Well done to the top 3, great clean racing which kept my Pribluda busy as i trailed in 5th. Well done to Robert on his Drive and thanks for the battle. Great fun. Also well done to Cookie for fighting back after our tap at Parabolica.

All UKGPL needs now is a urine sample from Gareth do determine how 'half cut' he was driving at 160+ mph in Italy, unless he's passed out at the back of the pits? Surely GPL is difficult enough!!   Wink
8  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 26 (2014) Professionals Trophy (65) - Oulton Park - Feb 4 on: February 04, 2014, 09:37:44 PM +0000
Oh well, at least i made it round the first corner this time..but not much further.

Totally my own fault. just caught the edge of the grass after T1 and under no real pressure, slid into a tree.

The softest DNF i've ever had. Poor.
9  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 26 (2014) Professionals Trophy (65) - Zolder - Jan 21 on: January 23, 2014, 10:22:03 PM +0000
Just a quick one from me.

My race lasted a few metres as i approached the T1 accident at very slow speed. Got hit from behind and ended up on my roof.

No problem though. I'd taken the best part of 6months off GPL and it felt great to drive this SIM again.

I'm way off the pace, but enjoyed being back at UKGPL. See you next time.

Thanks also to NHance for popping over to repair my Clutch Pedal. No1 Driver, Team Leader and Team mechanic.
10  UKGPL / UKGPL Announcements / Re: Season 26 Professional Trophy Registration on: January 03, 2014, 11:38:15 PM +0000
I'm way off the pace nowadays, to the extent that NHance is now Team Leader!! However, i'll be happy to attempt to chase the odd podium here and there if i'm lucky having taken a break from GPL for the last 6 months or so. Voted for 75%.

Cheers  Smiley

Been waiting a long time for that penalty.

Much deserved i'm afraid, and belated apologies to Sky.  Wink

Well, 4 races in and thats 3 Lap1 or 2 crashes involving me.

In my 4 or 5 years with UKGPL ive never had such a bad run or anything approaching this many incidents, something i pride myself on avoiding. Its no fun spoiling people's races and i'm mindful to sit out the rest of the season.

Ive not played GPL much recently (though still love the game) as i thought i'd take a break until the new Spa67 is released, but it appears the break has spoiled my race craft and skill.

This one, well, simply braking into turn 1 and was caught out by how early the car on my left braked and turned, worst still it was my team mate NHance. Retired out of guilt. Even that was further to me taking somone out in qualifying when i was trying to get off the racing line. Poor effort.

 Sad
13  UKGPL / UKGPL Announcements / Re: Season 25 Intermediates Trophy Registration on: July 02, 2013, 10:15:39 PM +0100
Ok fella's, i'll head to Pro and see how i go. Cancel my Inter vote and maintain my Pro one. Apologies.  Wink

14  UKGPL / UKGPL Announcements / Re: Season 25 Intermediates Trophy Registration on: July 01, 2013, 11:05:58 PM +0100
Fair do's Bad Blood. I'll go wherever the Mods decide. If i'm Pro level, then i'll do Pro. Your call, so i'm easy going with it.

I'm a bandit at Rouen and Spa. Any other track i'm average at best.

Cheers
15  UKGPL / UKGPL Announcements / Re: Season 25 Intermediates Trophy Registration on: July 01, 2013, 09:16:45 PM +0100
Apologies to the Mods. I've entered the Pro Championship without realising we were running Inters this year (my preferred choice every year). I thought it was a stark choice between Nov & Pro.

Could you discount my vote and Post for Pro's and add me to the Inter Championship.

Apologies for the confusion.

Many Thanks
