Any chance I could get a link to the E-type mod?

The 2 E-Types are in this pack Tony....

As mentioned earlier, THR league have now confirmed they're running a 13 week series with the RSS Formula 70's starting end of January.

any idea what time those races will start (esp. sunday ones),  I'm interested but meh to having to join discord.  I will if its worth it  Tongue

Sunday events usually start at 8:30pm UK with 30 mins practice and 60 mins race but details for this series haven't yet been confirmed. Qualifying actually takes place in the week for Sunday races and the grid is set from these positions.

Saturdays is usually again 8:30pm start with prac then quali then 2x30 mins race format. You need to compete in at least 3 non championship races (fun midweek events or Saturday events) before joining the Sunday night events but you can apply to the admin giving evidence that you are an experienced racer..... it keeps the nutters out. Grids are usually big and racing is pretty competetive but fair..... and all incidents in championship races are moderated.

Give the NASCAR mod a look too if you get the chance, it's excellent  Cool

Well that was all pretty weird. Been driving these cars all week with hardly any incidents but somehow the Nissan just felt a bit wonky this evening  Huh

I had an off at T11 which was caused by sudden snap oversteer as if I'd lost rear downforce and as I corrected it I was spat into the outside armco, something I can't remember ever doing before. Then I had a similar wobble through Radillon where I just about saved it at the top. Was extra careful going through there for the following laps but again lost the back, corrected but was spat into the left tyre barrier and across the track, then back into the middle of the track where I was collected by MJ finishing both our races. Sorry MJ  Embarrassed

Chose the Nissan because it felt so stable so I'll have to have a drive offline and see if I can replicate it.

As mentioned earlier, THR league have now confirmed they're running a 13 week series with the RSS Formula 70's starting end of January. They are also running a NASCAR Cup 90 series (free mod and very very good) with 4 road and 2 oval races which I'm really looking forward to.

Weekends consist of practice races on Saturdays with main events on Sundays and are very well supported.

Personally, I don't think encouraging faster drivers to take slower cars works as it then encourages slower drivers to take the faster cars. For instance, I like the Nissan but if I'm competing against drivers closer to my pace who are in the Toyota I'll have no chance of racing with them. Not a problem in a one off fun race but not great for a series.

On the other hand, I also think piling weight and restrictors on the Toyota will just nobble it to the point where it doesn't feel right..... I've tried it.

A series like the Group C or the previous potluck series is a great way of allowing us all to drive all of the cars (especially important when we've all paid for them) and still have a lot of great racing.

Cobras are a blast as well  Smiley as long as we have at least one round at Goodwood  wub that track is made for sideways fun. A real shame we dont have a worthy E-Type to pitch against it for a Revival style race.

Can't stand cobras personally. If we're going to run them why don't we go multiclass with something less marmite like the Alfa GTA. Even with 10 or so drivers multiclass can provide far more exciting racing than a spec series where results can be pretty predictable.

My first offline tests with a few basic tweaks show the Toyota is at least a couple of seconds quicker here than the Nissan or Ferrari. Had a quick run online with race fuel and mediums but it looks like the server is set to 2x for both. Should the race announcement be changed to this?

Also, are we planning to test possible BoP settings for this event or run the cars as they are?
22  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 18 Group C Fun Trophy - R4 - Monza - Nov 30 on: December 01, 2022, 11:53:29 AM +0000
As I said last night, I hate Monza. Everything I tried to give the Mazda more pace just made it more difficult to drive especially at entry into the chicanes and exits, which is basically all Monza is about  Roll Eyes I resigned myself to tootling around with a steady drive and a safe setup but even then found it difficult and frustrating. The final straw was getting the entry to parabolica just slightly wrong and nose planting into the indside armco!

Enjoyed the series though, good to drive the Group Cs even if they are massively challenging for me.

Looking forward to RSS endurance cars. From my quick and dirty testing the Toyota seems to be the strongest by a decent margin regardless of track type while fuel consumption and tyre wear seem to be more or less equal. Not sure if BoPing is able to solve that in a series without nobbling the fun out of the Toyota... maybe Tim can sprinkle some more magic as he did with the potluck series.

Did I ever mention that I HATE Monza  Roll Eyes

While I'm at it has anyone tried the 1970 V8  mod from RSS and are we ever likely to race them?

I have it. It's actually 2 cars of the same model which have a few different aero options and configs. As usual from RSS it's extremely well done.... easily the best single seater of the period in AC imo.

I think the THR league are holding a test race soon so possible that they might be running it next season on the weekends. Would be cool to have a series here but I just don't think there's the interest unfortunately.

Wasn't going to mention the B word but yes, that's what you get when you put *$%^holes in charge of the country  censored

I bought the new pack last night and took all three cars out for a spin. Don't want to put any spoilers here, but it's an outstanding mod. There's some talk about the interpretations of the cars not being totally accurate regards years/specs but it doesn't spoil the experience from where I'm sitting.

The cars don't seem to be miles apart regards performance but each has it's strengths which are briefly described in the included read me. There are also some suggestions for applying BoP if desired.

Another note, pack is listed at £8.99 but you'll pay good old VAT on top of that  Roll Eyes
27  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 18 Group C Fun Trophy - R3 - Highlands - Nov 23 on: November 23, 2022, 10:20:22 PM +0000
Don't think that could have gone much worse. Planned a one stop with big fuel saving in the first half of each stint so I could push more as my fuel load decreased.

Was going to plan up until midway through first stint but then spun it around in the village losing about 5 or 6 seconds. Not all lost, but annoying as I wasn't even pushing at that point. Then it came to my pitstop and it all went pear shaped. I'd forgotten my arrow keys were mapped to brake bias so as I'd adjusted the brakes I'd also changed my pit options  Hit with a wet fish By the time I'd realised why my pitcrew were ignoring me my was race was effectively finished.

Stint 2 was a mess as my concentration had now gone and I made a few errors resulting in bad aero damage. This meant my top speed even with max turbo now seemed less than the 60% I'd been running to fuel save  Roll Eyes Just glad to finish.

Congrats to pody  thumbup1
