There are a few LMP2 cars floating around but this is only the second one released by a top quality modding team, the other one was of an earlier variant URD released as part of their PX pack a few years ago.

The new car is very well done as you'd expect, but tbh so was the old one.

Not sure if you're aware but here's a pretty comprehensive list of all AC tracks (the good, the bad and the ugly) here which is regularly updated.

Long tail for me please.

Enjoyed that more than I thought I might , but what a tough combo!

Didn't bother with quali because with my starts I'd have still been last into T1.

Gained a couple of places as others fell back and then settled into a very nice battle with Spanner, Fabri and MJ which went on for a few laps.

Eventually got past Spanner, then Fabri but then found myself over driving trying to keep MJ behind and decided to leave room for a pass down the inside into the last corner... but by doing so I over-ran into the gravel  Roll Eyes Turned out to be my only off apart from later when a backmarker rejoined the track right in front of me  eek Probably cost me 4th place but quite honestly finishing 5th was better than I'd hoped for.

Congrats pody  thumbup1

That depends on which nut is behind the wheel Max  Smiley

Haven't done many laps in the 962 here as I remember the layout from previous events. Don't enjoy driving these cars here at all and honestly the track now looks and feels very dated compared with some later tracks. Moan over, I'll start from the back and try to avoid those steel hoops!

The original image I saw a couple of days ago was of an abstract silhouette shot but further images appear to have been posted on their instagram account. I'm not signed up to insta but there seems to be some excitement  Smiley

Had a go in most of the 80's Grp C's. Ended up deleting most of them again. Some are good, the rest are meh.
Really annoying - but I guess it's what to expect as they'll all R-factor conversions it seems, but not by the original authors.

Yep a shame. I liked some of the C2 cars, not as crazy as their big brothers and good fun to race with the AI. Maybe they'll receive some love and attention in the future.

In other news, RSS have been teasing a new car leading to rumours that it could be the first of a 90's GTP pack  wub

Le Mans Bugatti Circuit 1967

Still a WIP and with a few minor creases to iron but it's perfectly raceable as is. This is a development of the LM '67 track we raced here earlier this year (IIRC) and has permissions.

We need a Lancia LC2  Cool Amazed there isnt a good mod of that beauty...or is there?

They are about, but not great quality. Some of these drive quite well although physics accuracy likely won't stand scrutiny. Squint your eyes a bit and use them as grid fillers and they're good enough.

Scroll down to the 80's Group C cars near the bottom and follow link to the Patreon page and scroll though...... you don't need to be a patreon to download most of these mods IIRC.

Tough race that. Max was kind enough to send me a setup but I hadn't had a chance to use it until last night so I was pretty unprepared.

Knew I was going to be well off pace so decided to be ultra careful and hope others made mistakes  devil Quite liked the C9 but it needed my full concentration to stop spinning out on corner exits and even then had a couple of wtf moments as I got too excited on the throttle.

Nice little battle with Stefan, I saw you'd changed to mediums and wondered if you'd make it to the end.... I'm sure you won't make that mistake again  Wink

Have a couple of strategies and car settings I can look at for the remaining rounds which will hopefully give me a better chance of some closer racing.

Congrats pody and well done to all for finishing.

@GT, i tried updating the shaders to 0.79 last night but still ctd's with the Mazda  Huh so reluctantly i'll have to disable it for that car.

I use 0.78 MJ. I only tried 0.79 once and it wouldn't run for me either. Not sure what's going on with CSP but I had weeks of strife with particular cars crashing the game (mods and Kunos content.... 962 was one of them). I never worked out what actually caused the problem but a good clear out of my apps and loading/unloading various CSP builds somehow sorted things out and everything now runs as it should, thankfully.

Note: If you have saved your own CSP profile from a time when you know it worked for you, be sure to load these settings back in as you try out different CSP builds.

Regards these cars, beyond a few basic settings I've no idea how to get the best out of them. I'm happy if I can set them up to a state where they don't try to kill me on every corner exit.

Sauber then please Tim.
43  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 18 Group C Fun Trophy - R1 - Barcelona - Nov 9 on: November 06, 2022, 11:06:25 PM +0000
I had a similar problem for ages with CSP 0.73, certain cars would crash AC every time and I had to run them with CSP off. It's worth upgrading and downgrading CSP a few times and then trying 0.78 as this is what finally cured it for me. No idea how it worked but it must have just shunted something back into place  Undecided

Edit: Also uninstall any mod apps you don't use as these can (apparently) cause problems
44  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 18 Group C Fun Trophy - R1 - Barcelona - Nov 9 on: November 05, 2022, 10:40:06 AM +0000
Gave these cars a quick run around Barca and Highlands last night and while I wouldn't describe them as fun, they are challenging and immersive which is just as good in my book.

Haven't decided which car to take where as yet but as Tim says, the stronger cars are stronger everywhere so that makes choice less critical over the series and will probably lead to better racing than a spec series.

Good decision to go for a mini series now, fun races won't do as much to attract numbers. Not sure I'm up for the Cobras, not my favourite cars and predictable outcomes for most races.

Sod the Physics - I threw my dummy out over the fuel consumption! Cheesy
Slightly arcady physics can be forgiven if believable-ish and enough fun, but fuel consumption is simple(ish) maths!

6.3l V8 drinking a quarter as much as a Hillman Imp..... Roll Eyes

I'm currently racing Bazza's TCL mod at THR. They've applied some BoP to some cars and divided them into 2 groups and fixed the fuel consumption in the Imp. They're also running Pezzio's Mini and the Kunos Alfa GTA (which is what I'm driving). I've only raced one Saturday "practice" event at Goodwood so far but it was one of the most enjoyable races I've had..... blasting past minis on the "straights" only to be caught and re-passed in the twisty bits  Cheesy Next "practice" race is tomorrow at Battenbergring.
