Clearly you're in the wrong car, Simon.  Those times are much too fast.

Dear me!  I"m so sorry to learn this, Andreas.  Do get well soon, amigo, as you'll be missed here.

Yes, that was good fun, Ray.  I was amazed at how fast you could row along with the 'billboard' McLaren.  Apologies for that major shunt.  Thought for sure I was good for a clean pass.

Erling...    I saw your car parked for many a lap on the rise up the back straight.  Had me scratching my head.  Very relieved to learn that you are now well again.  Smiley

Fun race for me despite an early pile-driver incident in the New World hairpin.  Gotta love those British six-lungers!

I've used TS in some GPL races with the ADC.  Not too keen on it.  It's a great distraction and I need to concentrate as best I can.  I've since binned it.

So is the Works server replay cap lost, Axel?  The link posted above takes us to the Privateers race.

Axel & Phil...  TYVM for the explanation.

Hi, Phil!  Hey, Robert!

Could I make a small suggestion here, pls?  I've been to this thread several times and with each visit, I see that it's flagged as 'new'.  There are no new posts so I can only assume that the body text of the original post...by Phil...has been altered.  The latest revision is, apparently, from RF.  Trouble is, the revisions aren't flagged in any way.  This is most confusing and time consuming in re-reading the entire post.  Each time there is a change, could you place an '*' to highlight the change?  Two changes = **  Three = ***  And so on...  This is common practice in engineering and drafting.  It would help in digesting the changes.  Thanks.

Yea, that was fun couple of laps, Greg.  I enjoyed trying to hold you off and may have continued to do so for a little while longer but it was apparent that you were quicker.  When I turned you loose, I did my best to hang on.  Unsuccessfully.

As a first-time outing in the GP66's @ 60fps for me, it was a success.
865  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 15 Fifties Endurance - Longford - Mar 2 on: March 04, 2015, 10:02:06 PM +0000
Hi, fellas.  Pardon the delay in jumping back here with a review.

Mighty lucky!  That adequately and properly describes my race.  I was off the road several times with one in particular...nailing the wall under the train viaduct...that, by rights, should have had my Maser back on the trailer.  Still amazed that I survived that one and the car not really adversely affected.  Again, luck.

Grats to Coyote on a fine P2 placing which could so easily been the win.  I note that the difference in our pit stop times was the MOV.  If I'd taken on new rubber in my stop, we would have been side-by-side at the flag!  Would have enjoyed that!  Smiley

Great job by rog to nail down the final podium slot.  He and I diced for P2 early on before I staged a bit of a breakaway.

Sorry that we lost a number of runners especially so early on.

That big Maser was certainly a handful.  I only decided to try it at the last minute having pretty much leaned towards either the DBR2 or the 375 Ferrari.  Quite liked the latter as it was like driving a Cadillac compared to the 450S.

I never did get my HUD working and had little idea what was going on in the race.  I had no speed limiter...and no readouts whatsoever...and not a clue where the pit lane speed limit would kick in.  In pre-race trials, I experimented with assorted engine speeds in first gear starting at the yellow line marking the start of the lane.  3000r's = OK.  4000 = OK.  5000 = Uh-oh!  Penalty.  So I used 4k as a limit in first gear.  Got away with it!  Smiley  After my late stop, I had no idea how many laps remained; just plugged along hoping that the tyres would last.  Actually, the tyres felt fine in the last laps and I had no dramas.

Good fun and looking forward to the remaining rounds.  Looking to something other than the big 450S.  It's too hard on my nerves.

Thanks for that, Tommie.  Smiley

And thanks to you, too, Axel, for helping get things sorted re the 60fps files.  I was on the server for the Biker event in GP66 cars.  A solid frame rate of 60fps most everywhere.  Keen track, too!
867  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 28 (2015) - Bikerneiki - Mar 3 on: March 01, 2015, 09:56:01 PM +0000
Sorry but I'll need a detailed translation of fester's commentary above.  I seem to have none of these 1.1 or PATCHv2.0 files.  Neither can find a reference to them in GP66 mod files.

I didn't try the smaller engined Maser but did have a go in its bigger brother.

Best way to describe it?  Maserati 450S-WM.  WM for widow-maker.
869  UKPnG / UKPnG Races / Re: UKPnG Season 10 1960's GT Cup - Monaco - Feb 26 on: February 27, 2015, 03:25:23 AM +0000
Well!  If someone could explain to me how a 2nd-rate driver in a monster such as the 427CID Cobra can score a win at Monaco, I'd be happy to put forth their name for a Nobel Prize.  Smiley

No, wait!  I know how!  Lotsa luck.  Practically all good for me and not so for some top-gun runners.

I found the Cobra surprisingly accommodating round this classic circuit which, on the face of it, would be about the last choice one would make to take the start.  I tried all the cars for two laps and based upon my initial impressions, made the pick.  The Ferrari was a close second in the running as I was almost a fast and it was such a treat to fling about.  In the end, though, I went for the big snake.

For sure, I benefited from incidents involving Federico and Otto.  The latter was a startling affair involving Matt's get off.  Holy smokes!  What a shunt!  I really enjoyed dicing with Frex in the little Lotus and Clive in the Porker.  I'd get creamed in the corners only to yank back the time on the straights.  Surprisingly, the Cobra was able to haul down on the brakes with good authority; that was most surprising.  I didn't make too many mistakes but certainly went a little too deep here and there especially in the last corner; a couple of times, all I could see of the that corner was the advertising banner staring me square in the face!  As well, the fact that I managed to get through the chicane for 25 consecutive laps simply amazes me.  When things are going your way...

Some terrific action with Otto in the closing stages was a real thriller and if it weren't for his going a bit straight on in the Station Hairpin with only 1-1/2 laps to go, I'd have had to settle for second.

Looking forward to the next round...

It didn't occur to me til after the race had started and the opportunity to join in was gone that it was worth trying the other 60fps patches. Hmmm...

For sure, I was initially trying the V1 version.  Just wondering...
