Race Report from the "Early Bath Racers" Club LoungeA mostly fun evening spent in the company the fellow BRM driver Paul Villiers. I had to bail out 4 laps from the end when the box that secures my foot pedals in place sprang out and wedged itself under the throttle pedal.... Yet another retirement due to technical issues with my controller setup

Depends what you mean by T1 Jase, I don't mean the kink, I mean the first proper corner that you have to brake for. It has an EXIT speed of 130mph when flat out! But if people do that on Lap 1 side by side, tears before bedtime are GUARANTEED!
T1 is the flat out right after the pits..... couldn't really call it a kink especially as in other mods it certainly isn't flat out

Don't forget that this track is ALL about finding and keeping a tow. So let's try and get through T1 safely and that means braking early and staying on your own side of the track (which is hard at T1 when you are doing 130 mph.
The hairpin will be difficult as well but the back straight is LOOOOOONG, so patience....
T1 is a doddle in these cars.... In practice last night I was taking it flat out in the BRM, at least 155mph, and easily able to pick my line.... SO STICK TO YOUR OWN SIDE OF THE TRACK THROUGH T1 AND TRY TO FILTER INTO POSITION FOR THE TRICKIER T2!And yes.. for the first time in 2 seasons I am leaving the BT7 behind... the 15mph deficit in top speed is too much for Reims...

That was a great race we had there DC, It almost went to the flag! I couldn't quite match your pace but I was close enough to be able to shadow you the whole way through, waiting for you to make a mistake, offer me a chance to nip through. Its just unfortunate that when you you did gift me the lead, I gifted it straight back to you! My first spell in the lead only lasted half a lap! The second spell in the lead was much better for me and I really thought, with just 3 laps to go, that I had the win in the bag... but.... BUT... *sigh* There was no way I was going to be able to miss the spinning back-marker!... If I had lifted, you would have been through so I had to try keeping the throttle in praying that there would be room.... I knew it was going to be tight... too tight as it turned out There wasn't the room and contact was made and I did a wonderful 360! I caught the spin but the damage was done.. the car was ok but with just 2 to go I was 3s down. So congrats to DC for the win, lucky sod!

Well, I enjoyed that one although it was a far from straightforward race for me. I was surprised to get the white whale that far up the grid and made the most of my half decent start to get into a decent 5th position. Martin Hunt was just ahead and showing similar pace to me so I though we were going to have some fun but my front left tyre was showing signs of stress through the fast rights and so I chose to drop back and drive for a finish..... ...... and half way through the race started to do the maths and realized I would be about a gallon short of fuel! Fustratingly, a few laps from the finish Martin was almost within my grasp as he seemed to be struggling for grip from his own overheated tyres but I had no fuel left to attack with! On the final lap the car was spluttering and Dave Curtis said thank you very much as he swept by to take 5th from me but I feared worse was to come - exiting the final corner there was silence and I just prayed there was enough momentum to get me over the line for my points...... there was, but only just! So there you go, a race of looking after tyres, conserving fuel and general trying to be as smooth as possible on this wonderful sweeping piece of French tarmac! Loved it

That was a very enjoyable race and I feel a podium was a good result, but it wasnt without problems - my foot pedal restraining bracket came looseand my unsecured pedals were moving around the floor waaay too much, to the point where the bracket was impeding the operation of the throttle pedal. Well done to JP and Fabio, great pace there lads, and well done to everyone else for seeming to keep it clean.. Mosport is never an easy track for close action so to have seen so little wreckage is a real result for everyone! And yes Badblood, the mods are gonna hurt you bad for your errant behaviour

Reason I disagree with Jason is that some of these corners are great if you nail them. The chicanes especially. Fun while it lasted.
Indistinct braking points, roadside objects that push crashing cars back into the racing groove, wide open spaces that give no feeling of speed..... very poor choice of track for an online race.

A few days ago I looked at this announcement and thought "What a dreadful choice of track, I really don't want to do that", but this afternoon i really fancied a game of GPL so I reinstalled the track ready for tonight. During qually I was competitive but found myself thinking "what a dreadful choice of track, this is gonna end in tears". Midway through lap two it ended in tears. A dreadful choice of track

although I'm sure it would be only a temporary reprieve from the master of the quote button.... That would be Dean. And for someone given a moderator status, you sure are more interested in making sarcastic remarks rather than add anything to the discussion. Look, I can use it too!! BTW, i was trying to be lighthearted.... clearly it didn't come across that way.
