SimRacing In General / Other racing sims / Re: Project CARS

Well I'd be in. And I'm sure Tinman would as well as we have both been involved virtually from Day 1.
So we'd better get a move on. Me and the Tinman aren't getting any younger. Mrs Oilseal is predicting the day when I can't get in and out of the racing seat. Have to admit its not getting easier.
I thought when I retired I would have loads of time for these sims. But the longer I'm retired the thought keeps running thro my head" How did I find time to go to work"
The downside of the release is that I'll be on holiday when it comes out....Bummer
Looking forward to online racing again as nothing has tickled my fancy in the last 2-3 years

Not been on here for ages...or Project Cars for that matter.
Does anyone know if the car setups will allow single track, multiple single vehicle setup ala GPL.
It seems to be getting awful close to launch and all I can do is save a setup to a car or track and not multiples. Ie Setup vers 1,2,3 etc

UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: Friday Assetto Corsa Fun Series - 6th June 2014 - Old vs New at Mugello

Had a great time. Liked the 458
Managed a 2:15 in the race (not bad considering I was doing 2:46 on Friday morning)
Everything ran smoothly and no hiccups from the hardware or software.
Probably first online race for 2 years. Need to get back in the groove.
I'm up for Wednesdays though I'm on holiday for the next 2 weeks.
Maybe I can persuade Tinman to sit in.
See you in a fortnight

Good evening guys
I'm told by my brother, Tinman, that there might be a chance of some AC racing here.
So, I'm coming out of retirement........now that I've retired. Yes I know thats complicated
So can someone tell me what server, what races etc.
Regards
Mike Cooper Oilseal
PS. Nice to see some names I recognize after all this time. Now to persuade Tinman to come back and maybe Team Oldie Racing can get back to winning

Spanner you don't sound like you are enjoying driving.
Stop over analysing. My prescription would be 3 or 4 pints of Theakston Old Peculier as a starter.
This will take the edginess from your driving and slow your reactions. The knock on effect of this will be to wipe out understeer at a stroke.
The next thing you will notice is that your self esteem problem will disappear and in its place you will become overbearing and boorish (imagine a BMW driver).
The final stage, after a few more tinctures, will be complete relaxation followed by a deep comatose sleep and the last thing you will worry about will be your f*****g awful driving
LOL
It's nice to be of help sometimes

Posting your probs on the WMD forums will glean you much knowledge and save you time.
The devs seem to spend a lot of time on the forums so if you have a unique prob they'll get back to you.
Tip: Add all your equipment specs to your signature. It helps with sorting out any issues.
Try the F68 at Watkins Glen for that GPL feeling LOL

I can see your problem. As the devs keep telling everyone nothing is optimised yet so you will get the big variations.
I just took a leap and upgraded what I could afford. I've got an AMD Phenom X6 1050 and HD6870 card alongside Win 7.

Hi spanner Its worth looking at. I had to upgrade my computer and graphics card though(I was getting ready to upgrade so no real problem)
Have enjoyed the weekly builds and have been really interested in the development side. Remember that this is still pre alpha so you get plenty of differing views from the members.
Fortunately I've not had any real problems with the game apart from adding some tweaks to my G25 as the FFB seems to be updated each build.
Up to now have had more value for my money since GPL.
Around the forums it's been quite amusing to follow the other game fan boys.
It is possible to have more than one great game

Can't agree Shark. Think the driving is great with no lag and don't understand "slow graphic" And definitely not as twitchy and slidey as iRacing
Have you signed up and do you pass these comments on to the developers to make things better?
And still 12 months development to come
