A late edit from our Moderator announces Rolling starts for this Series.
Standing starts offer maximum excitement, and perhaps maximum risk. One reset is allowed here without a pitstop penalty - risk is reduced. Less excitement at the start means some will go elsewhere to race before Season's end, as has hppened previously with rolling start.

I had a wheel fall off before the race had even started! My Office chair is in need of a rebuild. Some fast work by the mechanic meant a pitlane start was avoided. A high speed pileup on lap 1, at those fast left hand kinks, gave the chance to see the extra pace the faster cars have here. The Cooper is maximum fun, without maximum speed. Attempting to cling onto those ahead, several corners briefly avoided me as I trundled rearward. Some wider, cooler, front tyres are ordered for next year. Seating undercarriage needs a redesign! This has been a good, and challenging Summer series. Thanks to Cookie for keeping us race ready.

Hope the Flu is soon worse, and you are a better Bernie. I don't have a link, as SRMZ is no more, Someone will assist. I've a link to an onboard lap with an expert, and live commentary. Impressive stuff! His primary rival at race end, has a name we all recognise : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKTNZyEYtWc You might prefer to explore the track for yourself first. Be sure to pick a good car before you dive in, or you'll soon start suffering from the bends.

GL and it's amazing how things have progressed, Greg. My early experience with a Beta GPL, used the primative, boxy '67 models, on their default, minimal tracks, and no more than an 800 x 600 screen. With 10 Ai, framerate for a modest 1998 Win 3.1, perhaps 5-15 fps, and cars drove as if on grippy ice. TARGA : ======= I was aquainted with some of the track building team, and their genius in building this track. An early hurdle was a desire to accurately recreate the entire track layout. A video camera was driven around everything that remains, and photo's used for the visible, and now invisible sections. This all had to be pinpointed to it's proper place, and time! The work was then divided up into sections, with different builders taking on different sections. When ready, they were all then stitched together - the track, and not the builders. It's my guess Ginetto was Master builder, to co-ordinate the process, and provide the visual continuity each needed when combined. The candle must've burned late into the night! Permission was later granted, after a respectfull period, for other Sim's to revamp the work. A much lesser task. This will ensure that such incredible labour will be around to please many more racers for decades to come. But I've not seen a better looking rendition than our own original version. Pure genius.

Congrats. to Pete of '68. Returned to try my luck a second time. I'm still learning how to drive these cars. The best policy may be to boot them early, and hard. But this needs the corner to be pointing in the right direction! I must've made Tom's forward progress interesting, when he lingered to study my learning curve for several laps. I was happy to finish intact. To remove the fearful curse when racing these, I've changed every 13 into a 31. As each car model is painted to represent it's actual 1968 appearance, at every 1968 race, it was not a 10 minute job! Huge respect for the dedication to detail provided, for offline users of this Mod.

These cars have remained in the garage since first inspection. Decided to finally risk all, as I thought Online use might prove less hazardous. It took only seconds to scratch my nice new helmet. Then started a nice scrap with Doni, but was split up and spat out by faster traffic. This made for a lonely, unspectacular race. Until, excitement at last - out of fuel with a lap to go. Two places lost - "Grumble!" My mind is already made up - the cars are cursed. There is no escapng Player no.13. No F1 driver used this number for 50 years, and probably lived longer for doing so.

I suspect the SRMZ 'plug'. has been permanently pulled. A likely reason would be the cost of keeping the Site up and running. It would be good to know of somewhere that lists the fragmented resources, which used to be available in that one spot.
A smaller group continue to work on GPL projects at a different Site, with their completion requiring time, and specialist talents.
NOTE : I see Cookie has also responded with some useful information.

Did you see the F2 race with Bill Ivy on 7 april 1969 ?
After Goodwood closed,we were lucky to have Thruxton open soon afterwards. I was at every Easter Monday meeting there as a teenager. You'd need to supply more information about Bill Ivy, as nothing comes to mind.
