1  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 16 Fifties Sprint Races - Grenzlandring - Sep 5 on: September 06, 2016, 12:49:44 AM +0100
Not much to report on this race other than having a "as of late" Hamilton type start getting mugged because of a bog down this time. Not sure why tires didn't spin right away as I did was on full throttle and dumped the clutch. Worked perfect in practice. After getting passed by many I was able to fight back to second place in the first lap. At that point I started a great battle with Coyote which seemed to realize right away swapping the lead/draft position without battling to hard in the corners help us both to slowly but surly catch up to Ziu which we did. Then it was a three way fight for a short time before Ziu and myself pulled away by about a second or two from 3rd place. At first it was a similar fight like with Coyote. Exiting the last corner I got a good draft run on Ziu and passed on the outside front straight I had him cleared by a car length going into turn one and saw he was coming up the inside for a pass so I held my outside line on the left hand turn one. I was well over in the right lane but I could see Ziu get a bit sideways and was coming into my lane with the rear end out so I tried to pull wide but it was too late and got a ever so light bump which sent me into the hay bales grinded along them a bit until I hit that wall or whatever is the emoveable thing is halfway into the corner sending me flying into the air. Now here's where it really sucks. Coyote through no fault of his own got smashed by me when I came back down to the ground killing his day and race. I should of hit esc as soon as I was in the air Coyote and I apologize for ruining your race. Also to anyone else that was caught up in that mess. When back on the ground I was pointing the wrong way on the far outside of the track and saw Clive coming right for me and then realized hit the esc button FAST!! I did so but I think Clive did and awesome little jig to avoid the hit anyways. Good job Jeep for the Win. Great speed in that Merc.
2  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 16 Mini's -v- Skoda's - Zandvoort - Aug 22 on: August 25, 2016, 03:33:05 AM +0100
Great to be back racing again Grin. Been way too long. Race one started out with me in neutral  Embarrassed. Found the gear and was on the way. Good fun trying to get past Tony. Got him once in turn one but also went in way to deep and Tony did a perfect over and under re-pass out of turn 1. Then we had some good side by side for a few more corners before I finally got past. After that I was hoping Clive wasn't paying attention to the gap as it seemed I was making up time. Then it seemed to stabilize and I just couldn't get closer. Race two I jump into the Skoda and good grief Charlie Brown what a crazy difference from the Mini. Some more fun with Tony from mid-late in the race but this time with Tony in the Mini. Tony got through but I started to figure out the Skoda's peculiar handling traits and was able to hang on to the back of the boss keeping him honest Wink Once again, good fun to be racing with you all. Will be back. Cheers

Have a great Holiday Tony and thanks Matt for taking the Helm Cool.
5  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 13 The Fifties - Sebring - Feb 4 on: February 05, 2013, 05:22:21 AM +0000
Wow, other than Mark who is Teflon coated Cool we have all had some bad luck in the first couple of races in this series. Very bad luck Tony,Syd and especially GT with only 2 laps to go Roll Eyes.  The good thing with that means we are all still close in points and if we just all go Cobra Kai on Mark next race we'll all be even again Wink. Sweep the leg!! Cheesy But seriously good job once again Mark and congrats on another first place. Also, congrats to Kurt for keeping it together for this brain fade prone track Smiley. My race was totally uneventful but fruitful as by taking the kind of slow Jag and getting a 2nd place finish that might just pay off late in the year as cars choice's get narrower and narrower Undecided. Time will tell.

Don't like this track  Sad

Airport = Flat = Boring. Well, there are exceptions but I do agree with you on this one GT

Heads up mates. If we are leaving the "cut tracks" on there are many places where you can get away with a lot of cutting exiting the corner very wide but if you exit the corner that leads onto the last long backstraight and are not within the painted lines you will get a warning. Keep in mind the painted lines and not the cones on this one corner. Most corners you may get right up next to the cones but not on the back straight. Revised: Turn one will get you a warning if you get too close to the cones as well. No real track lines there either.
Good luck Wink.

Total disaster.. Clutch wasn't working at start.. So jump start.. Did stop and go. Then lap one Jules had a spin on his own and ending up in the middle of the track and I could not avoid a collision. Car was bent a bit from that point.. Made my way through the field to second only to have a #$%^&*! Java pop up drop me to desktop. I know when I came back into the game I was hitting other people as well, so very sorry if that affected anyones outcome. Suspension was toast. DOA...

10  UKPnG / UKPnG Races / Re: UKPnG Season 8 British Historic Cup - Goodwood - Jan 3 on: January 03, 2013, 10:24:32 PM +0000
Excellent turnout fellas!! The race was action all the way through. I got a good start and was able to get around Tim's Ferrari. The first lap was getting hot and heavy up front and we were like 4 cars fitting into a 2 car spot at Lavant corner. I got a small bump from Tim which upset me enough for a quick off. Dropped back to 11th place and got to work. Was working hard through the whole run to make up time. Had several good battles with Simon,Legzy and SuperSwift Cool. Then coming towards the end I was able to run down Clive who I could see was struggling with tires. When entering Woodcote I saw Clive get out of shape but even with me on the binders before the tank slapper started I could not avoid a touch. This I believe upset SuperSwift as well which caused a lost spot. So very sorry to both of you chaps. Also tough luck Geoffers Embarrassed. On the positive side it was a action packed race with some great tight racing all the way through. I hope we can have this sort of turnout everytime Grin. A big congrats goes to FMG for the Win and to JohnW for a solid second place Grin. Cheers boys Smiley
11  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 12 The Fifties - Solitude - Dec 28 on: December 28, 2012, 07:30:05 PM +0000

Thanks fellas for the congrats Wink. Congrats to you Mark and thank you for being a great "Nemesis" throughout the entire season  Smiley. Nice to have people that you can race very close and still be comfortable door handle to door handle. I have to say I wish Hristo would of raced the last couple of races and taken his rightfull 1st place in the championship but first you must show up. Congrats to you Hristo for being 3rd and for being the fastest guy around this year. Also, I would like to thank everyone for making this season as strong or stronger than previous seasons. Most of all thank you Tony for once again being a rock in the GTL world Cool. You put in so much time and effort and it needs to be acknowledged. We all benefit from it with wonderful entertanment. Over the years I've been bounced around many leagues and forums and this place is as good as they get. Got to love how tight the ship is run and how positive this forum is. Cheers boys and look forward to next year Grin
13  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 12 The Fifties - Sachsenring (1927-72) - Dec 11 on: December 11, 2012, 05:32:57 AM +0000
Wow.. Not sure why it happened but I lost my connection at some point on lap one and had no Internet for several hours before finally thinking too reset my modem and all was OK after that. I don't see the results but I know that and Tony is the well deserved Champion Cool for this great series.  The biggest of congrats goes to Tony Grin. Not sure who ended third in the Championship as it appears to be either Matt or Kurt and they both equally deserve it as they were both mainstays in this series. I really appreciate all the participants for this series and hope for many more for next year. Smiley Cheers

I love this track and most times it raises my game. This time was probably my best none pressured race of the year. I really found the groove and was able to get several fast laps in a row with the last four laps all being within a second of each other. Nice to see a decent turnout at this most challenging of tracks  Smiley. Thanks to all that participated Wink.
