4  UKiR / UKiR Races / Re: i7e Endurance Sundays Round 5 - Phillip Island - 16 October on: October 17, 2011, 02:34:53 PM +0100
Was running a safe second and coming up to lap Baz and just following him until we got to the main straight when all of a sudden he seemed very slow between 9 & 10 and I hit him. Not sure if he was trying to let me past but if so I really wasn't expecting it there. Either way, sorry Baz Sad.

Yes Rik I was slow over that rise as I kept locking breaks and missing the apex so took it easy, sorry if I caught you out but thought i was keeping to the right to allow you to sweep round. I think I also caught Dimitri out earlier as he breaked and went off out of control and tboned me after that corner. I went flying through the air and ended back in the pits for a repair and full tanks, Weird. Then I had a small brush with Willem but not much damage although top speed seemed compromised.  I also hit that frigging land mine and got given a 15 second hold drive through penalty, which gave me full tanks again. Then our little touch Rik when next lap I drove off and just hit the tyres lost the front and was told to much damage were done. I think I might have had a paintswap with James early on and a spin but it didnt seem to affect him. So I lasted 55mins and DNF sorry if I caused any grief but think I managed GTs OK just not enough practice to trouble anyone else.

Well after a disastrous practice on Sat trying to get some running in traffic in and then being taken out before Eau Rouge on first lap and feeling jet lagged, was pleased to finish this one and P3 was a bonus and lead lap. Very low turn out though where were you all?

The only racing was early on and after pinching P3 from Dimitre and Gizmo I cocked up the bus stop chicane to allow Dave back past. Roll Eyes be glad when DK sorts this heat problem with the NTM, I was on an ice rink once I had locked up, and it was a real pig for a few seconds, sorry Chris didn't realise you were so close to Dave, no damage at all to mine. We could have had a good race as we were similar pace  :'(
Hope I didn't mess up any GTs races, as they were all brilliant when lapping.

I'll be back for Spa though Grin

I know its off topic but thought you guys would appreciate this, (feel free to move mod)I went to the 6hours at launa last sat and took a few pics (240)  the ARX is number 055 and the Aston 007 won. The porch hybrid only stopped 3 times against  the usual 5 of the others.

That was an appaling race, the level of driving was the lowest it's ever been. Very disappointed.

My apologies if you are referring to me Jasper, I saw you break and move right so I assumed you were saying go on, my bad, a complete misunderstanding. I no how frustrating it can be I am really sorry.

I had done hours of practice for this one and felt comfortable, I missed the results of Riks spin at the hairpin but came to grief when Robert went for a gap that wasn't there on the way to spoons on lap one.

You are spot on David we must show each other respect and swearing and shouting at the time does not.

Good turn out 16 cars, a lot of care needed tomorrow.  :'(  If we get a good number password would be ok but we need cars on track to pracrice dribing with different classes.

Only got one clean lap in as well so plenty of practice needed for this one.

Well what a cracking race, 15 drivers during the event but only 11 could race.

Congratulations to Paul Langford on the win.
