I'm sorry De Martini if it was my fault that you went out of the race due to my lag.

It's ok Michel, shit happens.

Cheers,
Darío

Ciao Dario, i did bad start because from pole line here not was possible to see the semaphore.

I thought that lights are visible front the first row in the left side of the track, moreover there is a countdown feature in GTL, really useful  Grin Anyway, as i said, hope more luck in next race  Wink

Grats Erling and podium finishers!!

I managed to qualify in 3rd position, but Ziu made a bad start and i got "stuck" behind him, i guess Chahine could not avoid to crash into me and i bumped into the armco breaking front suspension. I decided to go on without repairing the damage and after passing a couple of cars who get caught in lap 1 incidents i started a fight with 3 more drivers, one of them, Chahine, had a terrible lag, driving behind him was a real pain, i tried to overtake but i couldn't find a chance and shortly after, during lap3, i crashed with his laggy car at full speed just before Abbey. I went to the grass hitting the fence and i decided to retire the car, very frustrating, hope more luck in the next one.

Cheers.

Yep, but i only use clutch to go into 1st gear  Wink the downside is that i stall the engine too often when i spin  laugh

My way to go is completely manual, clutch + h-shifter, revs about 60-70% and let off the clutch quick but smoothly.

De Martini in the same car positively catapulted off the line in comparison.  If anyone who's discovered the secret would give some advice, I'd be most grateful  Smiley

Gaaaaasssss  Grin
8  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 16 1979 Procar - Monaco - Feb 15 on: February 17, 2016, 05:37:46 PM +0000
For the second week running St Devote was my undoing. I thought that again someone had hit me from behind & spun me around, but having watched the replay it was more my fault this time. I hadn't realised that De Martini was alongside me into the corner & I turned in across his nose which turned my car around.

Watching the replay i feel i'm in part responsible, i should have consider there was no much room for everyone at that moment. I didn't wait for you because i thought that it wasn't me who made you spin, sorry... Embarrassed
9  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 16 1979 Procar - Monaco - Feb 15 on: February 16, 2016, 05:22:43 PM +0000
First of all, congrats to podium and survivors Wink

It wasn't planned, but Jose and Marc encorauged me to join the grid, so i had my first contact with the M1 in the early evening, that means just a few clean laps before race. I used Ati's setup with just some minor tweaks to adapt it to my personal taste (thanks for sharing mate!), but i'm afraid that i wasn't very competitive yesterday, inconsistent laptimes and lots of collisions with the armco, so more practice needed for next event. Moreover, i noticed that something was wrong when i saw the engine health in red numbers, i knew at that moment that i couldn't make it til the checkered flag, but anyway, despite all those things it was an enjoyable race, Monaco is always a challenging track.

Finally, i want to apologize for the incidents i caused during race, i spun too many times blocking other drivers trajectory, big sorry!.

Cheers,
Darío

Sorry Dario - my antivirus software popped up (new installed over the weekend).
Had no control and left the race a part of a second too late. You couldn't avoid
to hit me.  Embarrassed

It's ok mate, shit happens  Sad

I did a good quali however my pace in race was not enough to stay with the 911's, i was too focused on my defending lines and made some mistakes. Dropped to third position and after a few laps i was on no one's land, i tried to keep a comfy pace, as tires were showing a bit of wear, in order to keep the gap with Postal. Unfortunately i couldn't avoid Eiffel's Datsun who crashed into the wall ending up in the middle of the track at the long straight, resulting in engine KO for me.

Grats to everyone, especially winners,  and see you next race!

Hi again chaps!

I'm in tonight  Smiley, hopefully i will be able to join more races.

I did a good start gaining some positions, but once again pushed too hard with cold tires during first lap. I made a mistake trying to let Pelle overtake me as he was faster than me and spun stalling the engine. In addition i couldn't avoid Hristo's Escort stopped at Adenauer and crashed into him. Didn't give up and pushed hard once tires reached their optimum temp. waiting for a mistake of the drivers i had ahead, but was me who made the mistakes everytime i reduced the gap a bit, and the Ring do not forgive them. But hey man, the most important thing is that i enjoyed every single meter of tarmac with the 911 driven with H-shifter, why the hell i didn't switch before??  Cool

Btw, since i switched to manual clutch i noticed that when i stall the engine i need to do the following procedure to start it again, i don't know if it's normal but that's the way it works for me:

-Don't press any pedal, not even brake, and be sure no gear is engaged, otherwise engine won't start.
-Press Contact button
-Press Contact button again
-Press Start button

My replay works well, if needed i can upload it.

Cheers!

Pay attention to stay on track, guys - there are some "black holes"
around it, such as at Kallenhardt and Hohe Acht  Grin

Amen! is strongly recommended to all drivers to keep four wheels on track, just to be sure your race do not end before crossing the finish line. We must be extremely careful about that  scared

P.S. btw i'll make this one with the RSR  shifty
14  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 12 GT Cup '76 - Paul Ricard (Long 1970-99) - Jun 25 on: June 26, 2012, 08:06:06 AM +0100
The race was a huge fun in the, as usual, back group Smiley I had a great time the entire race, a night to remember.  I took advantadge of the 1st lap mess and won some positions roaring like hell  Grin I had to do a hard defense of my position against the fast guys coming from behind, sometimes doing strange lines, i guess that also upsetting my pursuers. As expected, the tires worn out quickly, moreover i did some mistakes, therefore couldn't hold them to the end.

Compared to other Mustangs my pace was bad, seems that the more i tweak the setup the slower the car is  Angry

See you in next event!
