Have you tried getting in to chat via WinVROC - often works when iGOR has a problem...
32  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 28 (2015) Amateurs Trophy (65) - Watkins Glen - Jul 7 on: July 09, 2015, 01:22:00 PM +0100
Lesson to me. I was about 1.5 secs slower than my PB and I couldn't work out why. Went and played with the gearing - nothing else and EASILY shaved twelve tenths off <sigh>. Can't just turn up and drive anymore.
33  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 28 (2015) Amateurs Trophy (65) - Watkins Glen - Jul 7 on: July 07, 2015, 10:31:44 PM +0100
Led for a while and then slowly worked my way backwards and may get a penalty... #rusty Smiley

WD to Bernie for taking me on the last lap - thought I had 3rd in the bag and congrats on the respectful racing from Kai - finally sorry to Dave.
34  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 28 (2015) Privateers Trophy (67) - Tripoli - Jul 5 on: July 05, 2015, 10:05:15 PM +0100
Not Me David although I did get caught up in the carnage. Had to wait for everyone else and ended up half a lap down.

Gained places by attrition and then caught Michael coming out of the pits. Thought he was going full left so went to go right and then realised he was not so came back left but was at top speed. Misjudged it horribly and rear ended him. Sorry mate. Bit rusty. Had to reset and got going. Just me Bill and Axel left so I drove for a finish but popped the engine - so another pointless race.
35  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 28 (2015) Privateers Trophy (67) - Silverstone - Jun 21 on: June 22, 2015, 09:23:14 AM +0100
Was enjoying looking at tailpipes and driving very cautiously whilst I felt my way back into the 67s. Amazingly blew the engine! Aggh. Then trying to catch up the lost ground after the stop and go span at Abbey and turned over on the bank. Drat and double drat!
36  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / UKGPL Season 28 (2015) Historic Trophy (66) - Le Mans - Jun 16 on: June 14, 2015, 03:07:50 PM +0100
Season 28 Historics Trophy - Round 7 - Le Mans (Sarthe)

Back from the mountains the UKGPL Historics Trophy spends less than 24 hours at round 7, and appropriately arrives at Le Mans. We will be racing at night. Just like the Sports Car boys. We may lose a little historical accuracy but this is just too good an opportunity to miss!

Most famous race in the world is probably the 24hours at Le Mans. It has also hosted several Grand Prix including the first ever - the French Grand Prix of 1906. The Grand Prix name ("Great Prize") referred to the prize of 45,000 French francs to the race winner. The franc was pegged to the gold at 0.290 grams per franc, which meant that the prize was worth 13 kg of gold!

Anyone winning this race will get gold too - just look at the table Wink

TOLD YOU IT WOULD CHANGE - LOL

This race is for cars with engines of 3L in displacement.

Nobody is restricted to a chassis as this is a power circuit and the championship is close. Tris should be happier now Wink

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

This season, races are to be run at 60 frames per second – please use this patch 60fpsV2newmod.

Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score.

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page.

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Moderating The red zone will be fully moderated from the start to the exit of the Mulsanne straight on Lap 1.  Other moderation will be on reported incidents only, however any incidents that occur in the red zone that are not reported by the drivers will be reported by the moderator.  This will allow all affected drivers the opportunity to present their case before the incident is moderated.  This should ensure there are no surprises when the moderator's report is published and hence appeals will be less likely.  If you haven't received a PM about an incident before the link below the results table is removed, you can be sure that you will not appear in the moderator's report.

I actually rode on the back of Martin's car up the last straight - thought "Ooh he is slow... he won't catch Bill now" then I noticed he had taken the Robin Reliant version of the whale.  laugh

Had some fun, made a few overtakes, span a LOT but nice to be back.

LOL all.

It was miniblood who nicked them - not so mini now.

Have to get the girls racing instead.

Work has been ridiculous the last six months but it has calmed down so I will be around I think.

Hope to see you next time out

Another fantastic outing. 2 hours to get home and then find that the kids have nicked my headphones. No sound from the PC and no time to sort it. Impossible without sound feedback so I quit.

Well done to Phil. Hope to make round 7.

43  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / UKGPL Season 28 (2015) Historic Trophy (66) - Spa - Apr 21 on: April 20, 2015, 09:10:27 AM +0100
Season 28 Historics Trophy - Round 3 - Spa (new)

The third race in the Historic series takes us to Spa. Classic track, new layout for GPL. This is the long awaited update to the Papy original. Perhaps THE classic Grand Prix circuit, the original triangular shaped course was designed in 1920 by Jules de Their and Henri Langlois Van Ophem. It used public roads between the towns of Spa, Malmedy and Stavelot.  The course was extremely fast and was made even faster in 1939 with the introduction of the famous Eau Rouge section.  The circuit was completely revised and shortened for the 1981 Belgian Grand Prix but it is the classic 60's 8.761 mile version of the track that we will use for this race.

This version of the circuit was used between 1946 and 1970 and corners like Eau Rouge, Burnenville and particularly Masta presented the drivers with exceptional challenges. Due to the combination of high speed, length and lack of any possible run off, the circuit was very dangerous and claimed the lives of many drivers.

Please note: We will not use the original Papyrus version of the circuit, we will use the version released in December 2014 by the Spa67 Team.

This race is for 3 LITRE cars. There is no handicapping

Season 28 Historics Trophy - Round 2 - Monsanto Park

The second race in the Historic series finds us in Portugal. The street circuit of Monsanto Park to be precise. Built on parkland, the circuit was considered difficult to drive because it crossed so many different types of surfaces, including tramlines at one point. The track hosted numerous races from 1954 to 1959, but only one race qualified as a Formula One event: the 1959 Portuguese Grand Prix, won by Stirling Moss. He won the race in the twilight hours, since the race was purposefully started late in the day to avoid the intense late summer sun.

This race is for 2 LITRE cars. There is no handicapping
