4096  UKGPL / UKGPL Announcements / Re: Season 20 Novices Trophy Registration on: October 03, 2010, 12:52:34 AM +0100
Can't say it makes me feel much better Sad Pack pace of 1:30 should mean that I lose about three to four seconds a lap so I might not get lapped by everybody  Grin I am assuming that the race is Intermediate long which is 27 laps. Makes me smile to think you are worrying about bringing up the rear - I would KILL for a GPL rank of 13 - only 215 seconds to find...
4097  UKGPL / UKGPL Announcements / Re: Season 20 Novices Trophy Registration on: October 01, 2010, 12:35:26 PM +0100
That would be good. I am going to have a go at the Through Time challenge or whatever it is called. At least at Monza I don't lose monster time, still can't keep up though Sad
4098  UKGPL / UKGPL Announcements / Re: Season 20 Novices Trophy Registration on: September 30, 2010, 10:56:03 PM +0100
Thank you Billy. I suspect it is not just the setup Sad

Clive, thanks for the advice - I can always exit the hairpin smoothly because a Shift-R sets me up really nicely  Grin

Everything I do is for HER  angel
4100  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: Race Through Time - Monza (GP 1955-71) - Oct 3 on: September 30, 2010, 11:14:19 AM +0100
I shall be serving HER by ensuring nobody can gain a lap - none shall pass but many will queue <ahem>
4101  UKGPL / UKGPL Announcements / Re: Season 20 Novices Trophy Registration on: September 30, 2010, 11:10:31 AM +0100
Well thanks for that - I was feeling that I might be competitive ish when you said 1:34 but I can't do better than 1:32 at Slosport. Everyone tells me I will get better and that I should drive within my capabilities - well all I can say is that I tried driving round nice and steady and produced a fine series of 1:40's <sigh>. If I drive like a ninja and crash I go faster than that. I just cannot get that hairpin right and I am losing tons of time there. If I try and trail brake I just spin it or side swipe the barriers. Agree with you on Albi, it does look fun. Look forward to seeing your exhaust pipes on track.  Wink

Hristo - how could you doubt me - as I said when I registered - no choice for m e - it has to be the White Whale. ALL my slowest laps are for HER... ninja

just out of interest what sort of lap times are we looking at for Mosport? i got into the 1:34`s quite easily in the ferrari last night.
oh and Vosblod - band duties? what do you play?

See the results of the last Novices race at Mosport, blito, each driver's fastest lap is in its own separate column:

4104  UKGPL / UKGPL Announcements / Re: S20 Novices Chassis Allocations on: September 29, 2010, 08:27:08 AM +0100
to be honest for some of us its almost irrelevant. i could have a 1975 car and still come last.. or an 85 car for that matter... or a 2005 even!   slow is a state of mind Smiley

Slow is also a state of being in a hedge and generally a faster chassis helps me arrive at said hedge much more quickly - BTW Vosblod definitely has the wrong chassis allocation - he should be in the Amateurs  Grin

Blimey,

If Juha thinks he should be in the Privateers I'm going to have to have a 10 lap start - and thats in an 11 lap race  Sad

I have now tried all the tracks and I thought Zeltweg was really boring....

... until I realised I'd been practicing on the wrong version  Roll Eyes

Never mind. It has, however, confirmed that I need a Category 1 chassis from 1967 to be competitive  Sad

Seeing your GPLRank means you are NOT a novice <sigh>  Sad

Yeh I hope to be 'in the pack' at the end - i'll have to pace myself so as to get lapped at the right time for that to happen  laugh
4110  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: MODS & ROCKERS FUN RACE - Sep 14 on: September 14, 2010, 11:09:27 PM +0100
Told you I'd keep out the way (notwithstanding #5 appearing in my path at the start as I was trying to take avoiding action - I was surprised it continued. Still didn't last too much longer - gutted.
