1  SimRacing In General / Race - the WTCC game / Re: Caterham expansion pack on: June 24, 2007, 07:37:39 PM +0100
Ok RS has said all about this game and Simon has had some pleasant slippery "hands-on"  Shocked experience! So..in short its great, lots of fun and a refreshing change to what was lifeless Race:WTCC.

Great drive @ Macau and Istanbul especially in my fav class, the 320bhp beasts!

..and ofc its an honour to have my name and country flag in the game  Cool REPRESENTING!

oh Rus, don't worry, you'll be in Race '07, prob in the mini's  Cheesy

oh...don't go for these "too-good-to-be-true" deals, they never are..an you get what you pay for (in most cases)

Just did a quick and dirty google for you Colin, havnt read it myself but have a gander = http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews107118.html

Kaspersky Internet Security for me. Wonderfull.

hmmm...although most prefer free AVG, never tried it myself.

Norton, McaFee is a no-no and Zonealarm seems a bit flacky recently (especially with MSN)

4  Everything Else / Chit Chat / Re: ISPs on: March 27, 2007, 02:44:23 PM +0100
Sky is sh*t, I know 6 ppl who have it, sat installed no problem, no broadband for 2 months. Beleive me they will stuff you around but you will recieve your bill right on time Cheesy That's enough for me not to go with them.

Tiscali, yeah right, you're better off sitting next to a open window "borrowing" the pub next door's signal  Wink

BT, AOL, etc etc....all unrealiable to say the least.

I've been with Bulldog for 2 yrs, speed never a problem, connection down just once, the usual costumer service you'll find with every other ISP. Guess its different since i live in the capital than in the "sticks"(?) as you call it??

For a 1st world country UK takes the p*ss...with allot of things i might add. I feel for you guys with internet problems and there's very little you can do, although my colleague went right down to Bulldogs offices once with wondrous results  Cheesy

You are 1st world right?

[non-brit unbiased opinion]

btw I watched the CH10 Aussie version of the race, commentated by Murray and some other dumb blokes...imho Murray sucks, he's nowhere near Brundles excellent race insight, even James Allen knows more about F1 technically instead of stating the blatantly obvious  Wink

Shouting/making silly comments "by mistake" doesn't cut it anymore.

[/non-brit unbiased opinion]

My issue with Button, and most of the newer generation drivers, is that they're competent but lack a real spark or edge. It all means they need the very best kit to do well because none of them can make up the difference ala Schumacher, Mansell, Senna et al.

Exactly, Rosberg was the same last yr in his 1st race

Geez did Kimi whip those boys!!!?? he just oozes class Wink

Nice 1st drive from Lewis but I believe McLaren wanted Alonso ahead in the end. They use to change the race strat for Mika as well when David was in front.  Angry

1) Alonso is the hope for a championship, not Lewis..not this year

2) Keeps the media from shouting Lewis kicked Alonso's butt

3) Alonso needed that every single point against a miles ahead Ferrari (and boy do they realise that)

4) 3rd is enough for Lewis (2nd would've put way too much expectations on him to beat Alonso again)

Lewis is still being babied with a white glove and some vaseline  Grin I dislike McLaren for their holier than thou/fake the perfect team image bullcrap. Everytime Ron talks he looks like his lying Embarrassed

/rant

Kimi is sooooo good its scary! He might not show emotion but he says it like it is (eg last yr pre-race toilet chat with Brundle) LMAO

Kimi still oooooooozes class!
9  SimRacing In General / GTR2 / Re: Skinning for noobs on: March 16, 2007, 01:24:09 AM +0000
Half an hour of clicking every button on the tool list, and so far I've only managed to change the bright green to a bright green with a hint of red  :'(

LOL!

I thought you'd just download a picture of the car, colour it in how you like in MS Paint, save it and drive it.

LMAO!!

Funniest thing I've heard in ages, tx  Wink

Skinning gets easier the more you stick with it, few months ago i was n00b too Smiley Just try and figure out the tools, play around (like in MS Paint Grin) and learn what layers are and how to use them (IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Its really simple, just be patient!

11  UKGTR / UKGTR Races / Re: UKGTR Season 4 Sprint NGT Academy - Barcelona (GP) - Feb 20 on: February 20, 2007, 10:40:19 PM +0000
What a race! I got lucky at the start and was able to out drag Keith down to turn 1. The TVR seemed a fair bit quicker down the straights compared to the Porka and that was the story of my race really. Nearly got up to Paul in 3rd but he always seemed to have a little spurt on to gain a few tenths when needed. Grats to Ruskus on his second sprint Drivers Title Cool
Thanks to SROU for another glorious season Smiley See you at  the next one Wink

Wrong thread Jon....get off the drugs   Wink

Grats CeeJay...no one was anywhere near you this season!  ..and that with two DNF's for the Enduro season vs none from your nearest competitor Shocked Amazing!

Definitely the Claus ( whistling  Grin ) of the field. Brilliant!
