My issue with Button, and most of the newer generation drivers, is that they're competent but lack a real spark or edge. It all means they need the very best kit to do well because none of them can make up the difference ala Schumacher, Mansell, Senna et al.

Nice 1st drive from Lewis but I believe McLaren wanted Alonso ahead in the end. They use to change the race strat for Mika as well when David was in front.
1) Alonso is the hope for a championship, not Lewis..not this year
2) Keeps the media from shouting Lewis kicked Alonso's butt
3) Alonso needed that every single point against a miles ahead Ferrari (and boy do they realise that)
4) 3rd is enough for Lewis (2nd would've put way too much expectations on him to beat Alonso again)
Lewis is still being babied with a white glove and some vaseline
