Hi Fulvio, it is a Logitech Driving force gt, any ideas?

Hi guys, lets see if someone can help. Took out the wheel today and realised disaster had stroke. To cut it short, my accelerator pedal isnt working, as the white tiny wire that goes into the Ds (?) connector has snapped. Now I suppose my only hope is to manage to solder all the tiny cables into a new connector. I am going to try it, although that thing is flipping small, managing to actually connect the cables is going to be an adventure in itself...problem is , theres 4 cables and 7 pins...I found a diagram with the colour scheme for the cables, but it seems that each colour needs to connect to 2 pins, do I need a bridge of some sort? Anyone has got a clue?? Otherwise thats me out until at least new pedals, if not a new wheel ...  Roll Eyes Cry

Yeah the ending was a bit cruel, with a tinge of mockery added for good measure, I could have walked to the finish line, vintage GPL Grin! Yet, it was my best race in a while, with a proper challenge for the win, which adds a bit of spice to the proceedings, faster car or not Wink. I would not normally try a pass at the lesmos, especially if I am sitting in a car which is vastly superior on the straight bits, but it was the last lap and thats where the opportunity presented itself, so I went for it. A big five to Rob for managing to negotiate our way through the corners without touching, although I suspect the God of Warp was looking down favourably on us yesterday night  Grin Grin. When then I emerged alongside Robs brabby on the run to para, I soon realised there was an alarming lack of  firm plans on my part for the final braking zone...turns out my pole picking was a bit optimistic for the  right side of the road and I ended up beaching myself, with the engine letting go when I tried to regain the track... I should have woken up way earlier, as I was never more than a couple of secs off, and the pass would have been easy in the Eagle, having a bit more time to plan it. The days when you could just sit behind someone waiting for a mistake are long gone, now you need to earn your wins with speed and consistency, and thats bloody hard work  Shocked Grin. Grats to Rob for a fantastic win in a Brabham at Monza! Super quick and consistent as they come, truly impressive from where I  was sitting. Also podium, very well done, especially happy for Andreas, considering what happened last race.

I could join with no issues for the first time, connection was perfect in the race, but I could see someone flashing in qually, hope it was not down to me.

Thanks guys, see you at the next one.

Ok, seems I am back to the 'bull in china shop' mode of the beginning of my sim racing... Roll Eyes First of all sorry to Andreas, I ended up rear ending him and it is not the first time over the years, cant do anything but apologise really. After making a noob mistake at the start, I rejoined behind Andreas' Brabham and a Ferrari, they were both disappearing at length several times during the lap, and I had to take on the grass in a couple of occasions as obviously I wasn't visible for Andreas at times. Should have parked it really, sorry to all concerned. Grats to the winner, Rob I guess, he seemed to have easily the legs on everyone, and podium.

It is rare for me to have connections problems, so dont know whats going on really, I don't think there were problems in the previous races? I had ok FPS, so dont think it was the pc. I also had some troubles joining, but made it this time out after several attempts and a reboot.

Couldn't join at first, then when I finally managed the pedals werent connected, so had to get out and then couldnt join back even with the ip  hammer...first time I cant join a race ever I think, so cant really complain but it seems this is worth some checking. See you at the next one guys.

Guys which Road America is this? I think theres two versions of the track, the link takes you to a track released in 2017, but the lap records are 2012??  Huh

@ Phil Thornton, I remember a post from you where you hinted at a specific setting that you could use to limit the stuttering originated by running Pribluda. I was doing it regularly before races back in the days, it was something I could reach through 'control panel' and then ticking a box somewhere maybe in 'system' or 'indexing'...? I really cant remember, but I think that was helping at the time, if you read this can you try to remember please? Thank you
Sorry I can't remember exactly. I've had a look through my posts but can't find anything.  I'll keep looking.
Thats cool Phil, thanks anyway, I will have a look around myself when I have some time, cheers. A
I've searched around but I can't find out what the fix was but I think it was when I used to run Windows XP.  Anyway I'm on Windows 7 now and searching round on Windows 7 isn't helping to jog my memory.  However I think I may have found the equivalent fix for Windows 7.

In Windows 7 go to Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Personalization if you have an Aero Theme selected then this can cause problems with frame rates with Prib and in-car chat.  I've selected a basic theme (Windows 7 Basic to be specific) and the frame rate is much better.

Are you on Windows 7?  If so did a basic theme help?

Hi Phil, apologies I see this only now. I will try this fix later on, and will let you know. The frame rate issue last time out was mainly when I joined the race online, so will probably have to check it tonight if the day goes as planned. Yes, I am on Win7, and I also found the posts I mentioned here

https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=11618.msg209244#msg209244

Thank you so much for your help, really appreciated. I know my pc is running on fumes and needs replacement, so hope to fix that soon anyway.

I had serious issues connecting myself, I managed after several tries when I was about to give up. Thank you to the guys in chat who helped me reset Igor though.

Also, I had terrible stutters from the start of qually. I know this track is prone to it, but this time they were pretty much everywhere, whilst they usually are limited to the s/F line and the Bosh curve (at least for me). I had stripped down the graphics for the race already, but to no avail. Hope this is a one off, as I know the pc is old.

My race was short lived, managed 4 laps with some angry Hondas and Ferraris snapping at my heels and then dropped it at the top of the hill when trying to start pushing a bit through the stumbling frame rates. Shame, as I hoped to rack up some points keeping it slow and steady...Grats to winner and podiums, I think I will be in for Rouen as well.

Hello guys, I voted, will try to do at least a few this season.

I had a freeze myself in qually, just managed to join back in before the start.

Greg, I watched the replay, sorry for the start, you really had to think for me, as I lost track of both you and my breaking points at once... As I said, this was probably an evening to devote to the couch and some telly for me... :'(

On the up side, it was really good to see Andreas on the track, welcome back!  Grin Grin

Erm, nothing I can say guys, apart from sorry, I have taken quite a few people with me...As often this season I wasn't really there with my head, shouldn't have raced really. Will try to be in better shape and less of a liability next time I pop by to race. Again, apologies to all the ones who had their racing evening scuppered because of me  Sad

Struggled in quali to get in a sub27 lap, but managed to get in a good lap and it was also a PR! After that only tested my racesetup for a few laps. Also a great sub27 for Attilio, who sadly blew up after the start...not the luck you deserve mate, hope you will race again next season with better luck on your side Wink

Lol, thanks Rob, wasn't certainly the luckiest of the seasons, but these are the joys that GPL likes to dispense at times, and ultimately I drove poorly pretty much everywhere, so shouldn't really complain too much.

Many congratulations for the long overdue win in Works, with a hat trick in a very quick race and on a very special occasion, they don't come better than this! You really improved massively since I last raced you, in speed, consistency and racecraft, hats off  Shocked Shocked. Will try to be a better challenge next season  Grin Grin

@ Bob: I use metric measurements, I don't understand this English waffling  Grin Grin Psi were  145 with 148 on the RF, springs 137/170 F/R, roll bars 275/247 F/R, toe -254/178. Really nothing special at all, a stable easy to drive setup, that gives you confidence under breaking. In my experience Monza looks easy but it is not really, after your times plateau, every tenth you want to shave is like pulling a tooth and requires a lot of laps of practice.

Grats to podium and finishers as well, a very hard driven race Iestyn, after my early demise I stayed on and enjoyed watching your battle with Rob, seriously quick and consistent laptimes  Grin Roll Eyes!

See you at the next one guys
