No effect on online matching. I been doing this since P&G2 and also use the P&G settings with "normal" GTR2 stuff.

So, if I understand the S3 stuff, it's free for a year? And as you said, it appears dead cheap once they do charge. Too good to be true? lol.

It's free for that first year as long as you stay under certain limits - I've got invoices totaling about 12p so far. laugh

It's only too good to be true if you assume that it'll maintain the same cost and availability forever - nothing lasts forever. The number one rule of hosting anything in 'the cloud' is to always have the master copy back in the real world somewhere. Wink

Yeah, I just want it for downloads. Only a couple really as they're too big for where I host my skins. So, a few GB in total.

I guess we have copies of our stuff. Undecided

I never entrust irreplaceable data to anyone but me. Wink

The Amazon S3 storage we've been using for almost a year now has held up very well - I'm expecting to have to start paying for it this year but from what I've seen so far it's pennies a month at our low volumes. Smiley

dave. i just signed up as I lost a few larfge files at megaupload. So, if I understand the S3 stuff, it's free for a year? And as you said, it appears dead cheap once they do charge. Too good to be true? lol.

But more locks to turn? Or just a calibration difference?
5  Everything Else / Chit Chat / Re: My new G27 wheel setup on: January 10, 2012, 06:11:52 PM +0000
AH!! I see. So the G-27 is that much different then the G-25? Weird.

Hee. TURN the wheel man!!  Grin Think vintage car with manual steeroing. My '51 Chev took like 3 full turns lock to lock. Grin

What'd you use before Tony?
7  Everything Else / Chit Chat / Re: My new G27 wheel setup on: January 09, 2012, 05:07:00 PM +0000
Add some steering lock. I use 15-18 degrees myself.

I turn profiler off in the start menu. I was told when I first started this stuff that it did bad things but no idea now what. lol.

Settings in windows game controller settings:
 degrees of rotation: 900
 Check off "enable force feedback"
Overall effects: I set mine to 103%
 Spring effect: 0%
 Damper effect: 0%

 Leave unchecked:
Enable Centering spring in ffb games
Allow Game to Adjust settings

Hope that helps and of course there are scads of ffb files for whichever game you need it for once you feel like experimenting.

Excellent work!!! Now that I'm back online, I'll have to be sure to show my daughter as she loves your work also. Grin

heh. Well. after three months or so, I have a new PC (still working on it as budget allows) and am back online. I've missed you guys!!

I am hoping that I can get organised and timelines agree so I can join in some more GTL races as the one I did join in was great fun. I'm down to a DFPGT now as I sold my old stuff but am working on basically starting over.

Though my current install is temporary as I need more hard drive space, and plan to go to WIN7 next month (along with adding proper cooling to this CPU) I have installed enough to have fun again and work on some stuff. While I was offline a friend sent me some files for a project and the prospect of trying it and not being able to for a while almost killed me!! haha. but I been working on it since I been back a couple days ago and here it is. I still have a lot to learn but am having a great time.

I hope everyone has been doing okay and life treating you guys well. It's nice to be back. I look forward to trying to race again, I just hope my health cooperates though lately it's been better then it has in a long time.

 Cheers!!
