Everything Else / Chit Chat / Re: Satellite TV

Hey...I hope there is someone who can answer my question about Satellite provided at 28.2°E, it is especially Astra 1N Receive good signal on the other - Astra 2A & Eutelsat 28A - but no signal on Astra 1N My question is, is there anyone here in the United Kingdom (or elsewhere) who get a little signal ? I don''t know about 1N in the UK, (I was a bit of a hobbyist, but guess they started that beam fairly recently?) but I do know I spent many years tinkering trying to get the beam from 2D to me here in Finland! I could get everything from A and B on my fairly large 1.5 meter dish but never the D Beam. I gave it all up a couple of years ago as everything seemed to go to PPV anyway. There are a lot of specialized forums out there you could check out. Sorry can't help anymore

Well downloaded it, at least to try it out, and then you have to pay just to beta test it.
No Thank you...
Well you allways have the option to wait the six months or so till the game is released, then pay the same amount (we did now for the beta plus the full game when it's released) ... or just wait and see if they release a demo once the product is finished. Don't see the problem myself? and a short vid I made of me in the F3. The AI seem to be pretty fair and good in rF which is a first I have seen in any simracing game. The sounds I think are topnotch as well. Lot of compression on the vid so picture quality is down a bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5N7f177BtOs&list=UUh41qx1DwxxhkzNkAgeJ28g&index=1&feature=plcp

I wonder if the graphics thing is an ATI related thing then if Jonzo has decent FPS. My machine is no slouch which is why I can't believe the awful slideshow. i5 2500k @ 4.2Ghz, ATI 6950 2Gb Radeon OC'd, 8Gb DDR3 fast RAM. It can handle most things.
It must be then, I have no trouble with my Nvidia 560.

The elevation changes are the best I've come across in any sim. The Belgium Forest version of Eau Rouge is epic as you stare into the sky. If you want real elevation changes in a sim then make the FOV accurate (which normally means reduce it). I'm no expert but there might be more to it in C.A.R.S than that. The first time I tried the hill climb I was blown away by the feeling I got of the different elevations. The only car I really enjoy driving in the game at the moment is the Leonus F68 Cromwell, the others feel a little dead or too quick or just leave me feeling cold at this stage.

may still get this but the online chaos against hordes of dexterous teenagers puts me off H@L's words of 'use a shotgun and get in close' put me right off ive ordered Red orchestra 2 instead ...far more realistic and you have to use iron-sights, decent cover and stealthy movement to survive. More my cup of tea I have been playing RO2 since it went into the final beta stage and.. I have to say the gameplay suits me more tha BF3. One downside of RO2 is that the maps are fairly small and thus it gets rather repetitive after you have clocked up a fair few hours play. They do promise some new maps and more vehicles soon, so fingers crossed. From only having played it a few hours I'd say BF3 is fairly fun, looks great, loads of new toys and things to try out and do.. but for me it's arcade action and totally different from the Arma's and Red Orchestra's of this world.

You can add me to friends on the PC version if you want..... Highfox2 Just got it installed yesterday and had a quick play, much better than the xbox beta I tried. Only tried a few rush maps..fairly good fun for a runaround shooter.

I'd say it's a definate improvement on GTR, rFactor and GT Legends in ever area ( first time I fired it up it somehow had a kind of GT Legends feel to the game) , best sounds I have heard in a racer, visuals are very good as well. ffb is not as good as iR's atm. You can see it has a lot of potential and it's good fun even at this early stage.
