IMO
Doing such changes of GPUs does mess up your OS even more....

The GTX750 should do the job!

So make this repair install, will cost you ~ 45min and you will have a lot more time left to practice GPL.

Do get rid of this malware of MS!
Just uninstall it as of MS recommended themselves...
(look for the "installed updates" right click on it -> uninstall)

Have you looked into the linked pages?  I got it installed yesterday too!

Now you can install first the ATI driver

C:\AMD\support\13-9-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql -> setup.exe

If you have not -> http://www2.ati.com/drivers/legacy/13-9-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe

Then Logitech

Bernie can you please check if your Windows update has installed KB3004394

You will find it by right clicking on the little white flag in tray bar and "open update" then look for installed updates.

This MS patch is known to cause massive troubles with GPU drivers and USB drivers!

Today I found that Windows7 update was again installing the infamous KB3004394 patch wich is known to bring big troubles!

Maybe W7 users with weird problems should have a look into their W7 update history...

Your Graphics card is very low in the 64bit wide bus. It can not transport all the info from CPU to GPU fast enough.
A minimum would be a 128bit bus, but 256bit begin to make fun.

The CPU is fast but has no 3rd level cache where it could buffer the info to the GPU.

2GB RAM with 333MHz is slow and it will not be enough to load 69X with Spa67 in 36fps as this will use 1,5GB alone.
RAM is reduced by 640MB reserve for Windows and 512MB for the Graphics, so the running data have to be stored on your HDD, this makes it really slow!

The Mobo seems an acceptable basis.
An upgrade could be a set of 2x2GB RAM with 400MHz running in Dual Mode 800MHz (or 533/1066MHz)
A CPU PhenomIIx2/4 ~3400MHz would really boost it. Can be found cheap in used...
Graphics is a problem as good new ones are expensive, an acceptable midrange cards cost ~150€
I prefer to buy a used good card for this money...

2932  SimRacing In General / Grand Prix Legends / Re: death of a computer ? on: February 11, 2015, 09:34:14 PM +0000
download file 13.6.4.2 gives you an [Guru3D.com]-DDUv13642.exe you have to run..  (is this your PC or goggels?)
The download is safe!
let it extract to a folder of your choice. -> (C:\DDU)

I have no idea what all your "super safety" software does to your PC...
Seems to have deleted the "Display Driver Uninstaller.exe", its the bottom of your list file!

What for do you want to use 7zip? Not needed...

2933  SimRacing In General / Grand Prix Legends / Re: death of a computer ? on: February 11, 2015, 07:41:38 PM +0000
just download 7zip

The best

You cannot mix 2 different display drivers and expect all will work fine, Windows is a fragile capricious OS that never forgets..
By doing a windows restore to earlier restore point you get those old wrong stuff bac again!

Have you removed that old NVidia drivers from that GPU in save mode?
I suppose it is the same in your old PC...

Go in save mode and use this DDU utility

Uninstall all AMD and Nvidia display drivers and delete the folders!
Uninstall Logitech Profiler !

Reboot and start with installing the AMD legacy driver I pointed to you.

OMG
sometimes is better to not make panic uninstalls and overinstalls...

I do not believe in a HW failure! I have good knowledge of the inside of G25...

But why does it not work with other PC?

You have to boot W7 into save mode! Pressing the F8 button before windows starts.

You will have to give your admin PW and get a minimized W7. Let G25 be unplugged!

Do uninstall all Logitech software!

Reboot

Now you can try again to make an install...

2936  SimRacing In General / Grand Prix Legends / Re: death of a computer ? on: February 11, 2015, 04:44:30 PM +0000
What happens when you push a button?

Does the cable has any visible damage?
2937  SimRacing In General / Grand Prix Legends / Re: death of a computer ? on: February 11, 2015, 01:58:01 PM +0000
My problem is that all my software is in german language and I have no idea how the english names are...

Try this with connected G25

- Right click on the Logitech Profiler in the tray bar
- click on the second ~ Gamecontroler
- double click on G25 racing wheel - now you can see and feel if your wheel works, be carefull with the buttons!
- click on settings right bottom
- voila

Now you can use it with GPL!

You did not tell me yet if you want to calibrate the G25 in GPL...
I told you to first assign the wheel functions in GPL!
2938  SimRacing In General / Grand Prix Legends / Re: death of a computer ? on: February 11, 2015, 01:55:15 PM +0000
Of course you have to activate W7! Not a big deal!

W7 is a single PC license, so you must have a key for it.
When you change massive HW parts on your PC, MS wants you to reactivate it.

Just use the free "automated phone system" , have a pencil, paper and the serial  and lots of patience...

Do never connect 2 different PC's with the same W7 serial to the net!!!
Once you have activated new HW the old PC has to stay offline or W7 removed!

2939  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: SEASON 28 and 60fps ***IMPORTANT*** on: February 11, 2015, 10:18:10 AM +0000
Sorry Ray
if you have the impression I am "Asking people to start playing around with bios updates, overclocking CPU and/or GPU settings etc,"

That's not my intention!
I offered my help to find out what can be done to optimize a PC and find the bottleneck or culprit if it does not work properly.
Afair I asked nobody to overclock anything!

A PC is just a simple machine, but the parts in it have to play together like an orchestra,
but if one musician makes anything wrong the whole symphony sounds bad.

A bios update is nothing dangerous anymore, as it can be easily done with tools offered by the manufacturers.
If I see there are running parts out of the specs I show a solution to fix it.

I am working with PC's since 1989 and DOS 2.1...
In my IT history I had many situations when a bios tweak or any massive overclocking attempt could have failed.  Grin
I have mechanicaly manipulated Thoroughbred CPUs still running primestable after ~10years boosted from 1.6 to 2.1GHz  Tongue

What makes me sick is the attempt of big manufacturers to capitalize the nescience of their customers. Just read about Colin's PC...
2940  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: PC optimization for better 60fps on: February 11, 2015, 01:30:46 AM +0000
Dave your CPU is good and has still some reserve for OC...
The Vcore is a little high, as I read that this CPU runs up to 4GHz with 1,2V.
Maybe it gets hot because of this...

Reduce it to 1,25V and test it and let run a Benchmark like Unigine Heaven. This stresses the whole system and you can find if it is stable.

Your RAM seems not to run in the specified mode for #EPP 533
If you can, just set the values you see in SPD - #EPP to manual, the others leave auto

As you are still a user of XP 32bit, that is a good thing as you could easily do a repair install without loosing any data and installed programs.
This will let you get rid of all hidden and corrupt drivers in your OS.
Just let run the XP CD including SP3 and make an install until you are asked if you want to repair the OS!
Not the repair console, some steps later!
I have done this often allways successfull!
