1  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 29 (2015-16) Privateers Trophy (67) - Bathurst - Mar 6 on: March 07, 2016, 09:53:51 AM +0000
it seems i hit you twice Ronnie, very sorry.

First time i was trying to go around the outside of you and fell of the cliff.
Totally out of control, i tumbled back on the track exactly on time to collect you as you were braking for corkscrew.

Second hit, i overshot the pitlane after blown engine and shift-r and was reversing back, but i hit invisible part of the pitlane wall which put me back in the middle of the road.
Quite pathetic, all that.

Race was very interesting considering only 8 starters, was going well in the battle for 3rd until i the engine blew.

Also need to do something about warping, i've got laptop which wasn't yet used for gpl online.
I changed some things, but it seems i need to figure out .. something.

Sorry for the hits  :'( :'(
3  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 29 (2015-16) Privateers Trophy (67) - Monza - Feb 21 on: February 23, 2016, 01:14:07 PM +0000
Twas nice to be racing again, especially for the whole of 50 mins and without shift-r's Smiley

This was first time i used 60fps patch, so any feedback or advice is welcome.
I'll try to sort that out before next race.
I got overtaken quite a few times by a few Eagles and a Ferrari, any warping there?

Used 60fpsv2newmod.

2.5 ride height  :'(

And that was meant for former Road Atlanta without the compression.
5  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 27 (2014) Works Trophy (67) - Road Atlanta - Nov 9 on: November 10, 2014, 11:31:13 AM +0000
Was very surprised when i tried to join the race and couldn't because i didn't have new Road Atlanta version on my gpl.

Tried to figure it out in the 10 mins of qualy i had left, but didn't manage to decode last turn and the dip before it.
I guess i had far too low ride height and was losing lots of time there.

Had a bit of a race with AG until i went off twice at, yes, last turn.
Plodded to the finish, while being lapped by the world and his dog.
Not exactly to the finish, as i blew the engine 2 laps from the end.

Congrats to the podium and to smoky braby for perseverance.
In the end he didn't catch me by just 2 laps.

Lets see if 20 tokens and Watkins Glen bring any difference  Wink
6  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 27 (2014) Works Trophy (67) - Monaco - Oct 26 on: October 28, 2014, 08:59:01 AM +0000
A question for Works Admins ~
Points table says i have 15 tokens, but according to the rules i should have 10 since i didnt start first five races.
So i protest  Wink

Monaco~
Happy to have lasted the race minus last 2 turns.
Which means i crashed in the chicane on the last lap and dropped from 7th to 9th.

Also had a spin in the chicane on L1, but if you are gpl rusty chicane is a place where you'll feel it.
No way i would've survived the race without a big lift before the crest on each lap.

If there is a my problem, its my focus, nothing external like fps, imo.
You wouldn't believe it, but i had severe problems keeping the car straight on the straight in my first practice laps after a long break.
Mindset needed for gpl is indeed a wildly different beast from the mindset needed for the #normal# life.
Need meditation before the start  angel

Hi, can i be registered in time for Monaco?

This is too silly.

I rip off my wheel all by myself at T1/L1.
One finisher.

Rainier, you are The Alien.

This world, including gpl, is officialy getting silly.
I hope i can regain some semblance of belief in gpl and the rest of this world by Dessau T1/L1.

9  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 25 (2013) Historic Trophy (66) - Monaco - Sep 10 on: September 12, 2013, 10:46:55 PM +0100
....i made few mistakes and happily got Andreas for company from behind.
He made some pressure, so i gracefully clobbered some straw and let him past.

Than i pressed him a bit, so he very ungracefully spun at Casino.
Decided to try braking, rather than sidewalk climbing.
Braked down to 54 kmh and than we gently touched front wheel to front wheel.
Andreas was doing 58 kmh at that moment, so gpl decided to shed my front wheel and leave him undamaged and facing right direction again...

Sorry for being out `cause of my mistake.  Sad From that moment on I had no good feeling and after I through it away at the chicane...  Roll Eyes

Just realised was top non-Eagle! Grin

Now what could I have done had I got the tokens... Wink

math is simple
+53s - (15L*4s) = -7s
you would've won by 7 secs in the eagle. congrats  Grin

or i would've been 3rd in the eagle, 31 secs behind  Shocked

and aunt Turkey would've been uncle Eagle  Wink

At first i tought i made a monster start, than realised that car in front is not moving Shocked
Squeezed thru undamaged but fell to about 8th.
Which became 4th in the space of a few laps as maddogs battle for 3rd quickly destroyed itself.

Feeling lonely, i made few mistakes and happily got Andreas for company from behind.

Andreas was doing 58 kmh at that moment, so gpl decided to shed my front wheel and leave him undamaged and facing right direction again.

Wondering if he would've lost a wheel if i was doing 59 kmh?
No matter anyway, it was all good fun while it lasted  Smiley

After that wached Clive/Tristan battle for the lead.
They had one interesting moment at Gasometre which reminded me of Schumacher/Villeneuve at Jerez 97.
I bet Tristan can imagine what went thru Schu's head in that moment  Roll Eyes

Congrats to all finishers, but most impressive to me was Ivan S who showed how you can finish on the podium at Monaco by keeping your enthusiasm in check.

I had Doni very close behind for the first few laps as I was getting warmed up and later Jethro stayed between 2 and 4 seconds back. With a few laps to go I was settling for 5th with Phil and Bob in sight ahead. Feeling pleased with myself for being the first non Eagle home and having calculated that I would be leading the championship in this position, pride came before a fall and my engine blew up. I think this may be my first engine fail in over 50 races in UKGPL.
Grats to Ronnie for the win.

I was behind you in the opening laps. You were incredibly slow in Burneville, i almost collected you on the both first and second laps there. Caution can be overdone too i guess. I'm not really complaining, just giving you a little feedback on your back end Grin

Seriously now, your consistency is unbelievable and it helped me that i was able to follow you for half a race. Than i took a little ride over one of those wall of death banks. Ride went quite well, no damage and 5 secs lost, but Jethro went past and on my own i lost my bearings a bit. Happy that i finished  Smiley

Trying to sort it out still.
