1  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) 1955 GP (Works) - Roy Hesketh - Apr 14 on: April 15, 2024, 12:33:20 AM +0100
I imagined it would be an uninteresting race, and I chose Gordini, which I found to be a good pace for the brakes.
During the race I had great moments of fun, as Phill reported, it's always a pleasure to compete with someone where you have the confidence to do side by side.
Anyway, I gained positions because of mistakes and then they caught me and there was some fun, I think 7th was the most worthy thing I could do this Sunday.

Congrats Evil ....... great winner! And congrats podium!
2  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) 1967 F1 (Works) - Imola - Mar 24 on: March 24, 2024, 11:27:47 PM +0000
It was a race of survival for me, I don't like Imola, but I managed a good time in Qualy, I think. But at the beginning of the race, after the third lap, my neck got stuck, a lot of pain, and there was no chance of competing wheel to wheel with anyone, whoever got too close I would open the door to pass safely. My goal was to reach the end, my neck was giving me no respite and to complete the difficulty the engine started running with just a few cylinders on the last lap, Cornu almost managed to catch up to me.
Congratulations on the podium, I hope for better conditions in the next race.
3  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) 1955 GP (Works) - Indianapolis - Mar 17 on: March 18, 2024, 10:51:24 PM +0000
you're right Phill, I had a plan for the last lap. But when the leaders arrived, I parked the Gordini on the left side of the opposite straight and let the entire line pass, it wouldn't have made sense to risk the leaders, and I never try to take advantage in these conditions.

In fact, following faster cars in Indianapolis is not a problem, the suction is a little too much in this mod55. I was happy to see Doni run this time. I'm sorry for Farina, leaving due to internet problems is devastating. Congratulations on the podium!!!! Christo is isolating himself in the lead.

It's unfortunate, the server was terrible, did they increase the entry limit?
When it crashed, I immediately took the test, and my internet is 100 percent.

Congratulations Evil!!!! He was the winner and deserved it!

Frankly, I've never had the chance to overtake, I never dive without first being side by side at the braking point, diving when you're behind means catching the blind spot of the person in front and colliding at the entrance to the curve. And within this rule of mine, I never was side by side with Evil.
Evil won even with an inferior car and that was very impressive! Congratulations .
My idea was to try the attack on the last lap, but I made a mistake there and this hypothesis can never be tested!!! GRRRR....
But I think I lost any chance when I noticed the great difficulty I had in my car in accelerating around the penultimate curve of the race, there I always lost an infinite 50 meters on the way back to the stainless Evil.
But happy still to have such a fun race!!!
Happy to see my friend Farina on the podium! Impressed by Gordini's rhythm!!!!
 Sad about Doni's absence Sad
6  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) 1967 F1 (Works) - Hockenheim - Feb 25 on: February 27, 2024, 01:57:03 AM +0000
I can't complain, this time the game's mathematics hit me, a piston!!!!!

But I must admit that I did two podiums in a row with BRM, counting on a lot of luck or bad luck from other drivers.

But I was excited about the potential of my H16 for this track, it's a shame I didn't have time to appreciate its real possibility.

I watched the race afterwards, congratulations on the podium and a special mention to Steiner who made it rain with the Hondola!
7  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) 1955 GP (Works) - Hockenheim - Feb 18 on: February 19, 2024, 12:32:35 AM +0000
I can hardly believe that I won a race in the UKGPL with Hristo on the track Smiley for me a huge achievement, a great honor to have him on the track Wink .
The race was truly crazy in the first 4 laps, lots of disputes, cars side by side in the stadium....my god!!!!!

In a moment Alain came recovering on the straight and we were 3 cars side by side...... everything was breathtaking, together were Farina and Steiner in this pile of 5 to 6 cars frantically changing positions!!!

Until on lap 4 or 5, Alain entered the stadium wrong and that gave me a lead of 340 meters over the others! That was enough to keep me away from my pursuers and gradually open up with each lap and remain isolated in the lead until the end, thanks of course to the Mercedes that had a substantial advantage over the other cars on this type of track.

Unfortunately, I noticed that my friend Farina and Steiner fell out of the race at the same moment, so I thought they had an accident, perhaps.

Congratulations to podium winner Hristoe Evil, who also ran a race together the entire time!!!!
I wonder what happened to Doni Sad Huh
8  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) 1967 F1 (Works) - Balcarce - Feb 11 on: February 12, 2024, 12:36:44 AM +0000
A mind-boggling race, without resting, I ran the entire race in a dispute with Evil and his speedy Cooper, in the middle of the race I made it easier for him to pass because perhaps he would have a better chance of reaching Farina and by holding on we would be slower. But after Evil passed, the distance remained stable. And we stayed like that until the penultimate lap when Doni and Steiner joined the group and that's when Evil did a 180 and fell behind, so we stayed together until the finish line...... luckily I didn't make any mistakes and I managed hold the 3rd!!!
9  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) 1955 GP (Works) - Brands Hatch - Feb 4 on: February 06, 2024, 02:58:17 PM +0000
  Congrats podium!!!!!!!!!!

For me only 1 lap ....GRRRR.......internet problems here!
10  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) 1967 F1 (Works) - Porto - Jan 28 on: January 30, 2024, 09:54:00 PM +0000
I had doubts about whether to use the BRM or not, because Porto is a street track with long straights, this is a perfect cocktail for accidents, it is a survival track.77

I had a very competitive speed with Brabham, but due to the risks of the track, I chose the BRM, which could at least give me a good balance of coins. But I could never imagine leaving Portugal with a second place with our wonderful H16!!!!!

It's a shame that Alain left so early, he was the best H16 on the track, and seeing my friend Doni leave next was with great frustration, Doni passed me with great ease by 2x and his pace was very strong. I'm happy to see Du Lima in second on the points table, a very regular, correct driver who never makes mistakes!

Congratulations Farina for the crushing victory, an incredible pace with the Honda!!! And I'm sorry to see fast riders leave so early, it's very frustrating!

But I like Porto, it's a challenging and fun track, and its risks make it an old-fashioned track, I like that! Maybe Porto, Montjuic and Wiesbaden are my favorite urban tracks......... oh, I like Long Beach too!!!
11  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) 1955 GP (Works) - Assen - Jan 21 on: January 22, 2024, 04:58:57 PM +0000
I'm always among the drivers with the highest percentage on the track in races, you can see my historics.
On this track in particular (which I think is a little below the current GPL standard), Assen has a simplicity in construction that does not penalize and makes some excesses possible. I am at the disposal of the judges, if I have driven outside the rules, let them follow the rules and disqualify me if it is correct, for me without any problem.
And I'll be back in the next step to still be motivated.

But it would be very sad to see our iron man withdraw. Cry

Yes Clive,
I hope that the mod team this time listens to the mechanic of the MB museum who maintains these cars today Wink

Listen to Valteri and have in mind that he is comparing them to todays F1 brakes wich are 500% better than in our modern street cars Wink

I was fortunate enough to be at the Goodwood Revival a few years ago when the Silver Arrows were the big feature. We were able to get up close to the display in the pits. Close enough to touch, but with no actual contact lol. They had the W125, W196 and a few Auto Unions too. The thing that impressed me most was the quality of the engineering from so long ago. The mechanics had the engines fired up and what a glorious sound with all those big engines, crackling and banging on tickover but as the revs rose,  pure music  Grin,

The highlight of the weekend was the demonstration run with all of the cars around the Goodwood circuit. Well, it started out as a well behaved demonstration run and lap by lap the celebrity drivers reverted to type and things got a little wild.
Jackie Stewart was driving the W196 and started giving it some serious gas out of the chicane, with spinning wheels and lots of blue smoke. All very entertaining, until on one lap he dropped a rear wheel onto the grass at the exit and things went wrong very quickly. In fairness he did manage to control the violent fishtailing down the S/F straight , but I can imagine that the Merc bosses held their breathe as an absolutely priceless and irreplaceable car veered from side to side and might be headed for the concrete wall of the pits???
Incidentally Nick Mason ( drummer with Pink Floyd ) was driving one of the early Auto Unions....wish I had learned the drums  Roll Eyes
I think I have a very short film clip of Mr Stewart driving the W196 at that event, if I can find it I will post it here.

Festival oh the Goodwood my biggest dream !!!!
13  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) 1967 F1 (Works) - Interlagos 71 - Jan 14 on: January 17, 2024, 09:10:23 PM +0000
Oops, finally a victory in mod67, last season I blew up an eagle engine and maybe, in this champ I won't use any Dan Gurney cars.......
I like Interlagos, and yes, it's a tiring, treacherous, long track, but historically a legend in Brazil, this old route.
Luckily I had the best car for Interlagos, the Ferrari, and I was able to enjoy that, Greg, Leo and Farina were absent, Bot with BRM, I think that all helped too.

My race was fast at the beginning to try to escape from Baab and Jungle, but they had an accident and this made it easier for me.

Happy to see my Ferrari teammate in second and the stainless Doni in third.

I believe that everyone who raced in the BRM had a lot of fun, there were a lot of them!!!

Yes Fulvio,  the fast Lancia was Evil!!!
15  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 43 (Autumn 2023) 1955 GP - Monza - Dec 17 on: December 18, 2023, 02:48:38 AM +0000
Thank you Farina!, but actually this 55th championship was a bit confusing, I think for most of the drivers. We have all had unnecessary accidents and also natural accidents beyond our control, such as disconnections and other types of misfortunes.
But what sets us apart from other leagues is, our friendship has been around for perhaps a decade or more, we are all known for our friendship and trust, this makes us different from the others, I hope to see everyone in 2024.
In this Sunday's race, I was able to develop a different setup than the default one I normally use. 1 hour before the race I was able to join the server practice and develop something for the open-wheel Mercedes. I believe I managed to have a car that was very easy for the race, and fast enough for qualy, pole was a surprise for me, and that gave me some confidence in my race pace, although at the beginning Fulvio was very fast in his Lancia, he He was a hero among so many Mercedes, but I think he made a small mistake in the last corner. This gave me an advantage and I only had to manage one pace until the end.
Unfortunately Loynes couldn't challenge me in the race due to being delayed by an accident in lap 3, I'm sorry, and I hope that next year it will be more regular for everyone.
