Just stumbled across this  Smiley
I expect you've alreay sorted it out,  but "newer" sound collection available HERE

2  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) 1967 F2 (Amateurs) - Snetterton - Apr 23 on: Yesterday at 03:36:45 PM
Really hacked off that I will miss this one as this is by far my fave series

I'll have to try getting a helpful tow from someone else!

Conngrats Ricardo, a fine drive!

Tried to keep close enough in case there was a major mistake,   but didn't happen!

Unlucky Pepe,  presumably on the frid you had latency issues & quit the race?
I saw you come & go a couple of times whilst awaiting the start.
I kept to the left in case you came back in again, but soon guessed you had exit.

I did very little pre-event running & had to use the Q session for quick race-fuel calculations.

Also changed to another setup (not mine) ifor Q with full fuel in case that helped me not go off at T1 into the barrier (figured that maybe T1 here may be slightly similar to Zeltweg T1...).   That bit seemed to work out surprisingly well, despite a little twitchiness compared to my goto Mosport setup (again, not mine).

Hopefully server connection was fine for the other drivers.
I was looking at the rear of Ricardo's car most of the race & that seemed stable.

Cheers,
Dave.

Pee & others - you aren't trying to connect with advanced trainer cars are you?
(From iGOR status, there is no max latency set;  max drivers is 20 / the usual look ok).

I'm not registered, didn't try connecting.

EDIT:  actially, just seen the remaining time status hasn't changed in iGOR (still says 25:13) so maybe something is going on.

I've had to reset my router. Could someone please see if you can connect to UKGPL07 today and let me know any issues. I'm not sure that I've put port forwarding back to where it was. Thanks.

I connected & drove a couple of laps - seemed ok.
Admittedly, it was just me visiting.
6  UKGPL / UKGPL Races / Re: UKGPL Season 44 (Spring 2024) JSMT - Goodwood - Apr 7 on: April 07, 2024, 11:37:04 PM +0100
Glad the 2nd race attempt worked ok.  Looks as though most drivers did re-connect (15 vs. 18):

I don't know about these cars, but was happy enough to join in with the advanced trainer variant.

Seemed to get on better with the Genie,  but shame about the wheel being on the wrong side!  Despite running the right side offtrack a number of times, at least come the event I was no longer crunching into the wall  Grin

Had some fun trying to keep Matt in sight.  Congrats up front.

Cheers,
Dave.

Maybe research this first,  but on my old 32GB/2GB RAM  non-upgradeable machine,  now & again I'd run (from command-prompt with elevated privileges):

#1: Run Cleanup Manager
To set options:
Code:
cleanmgr /D C /sageset:65535
To perform cleanup operation:
Code:
cleanmgr /D C /sagerun:65535

#2: Remove previous updates/service packs
After updates/system running ok for a while, would analyse WinSxS folder  & reduce size if possible.

To show current details
Code:
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /AnalyzeComponentStore

If rather large, would perform "resetbase" operation.
Note: installed service packs/updates cannot be uninstalled after this.
Future installed updates/packs can be removed, unless this is run again at a later time..
Code:
dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase

(apologies if I've introduced any typo whislt copying manually from another machine)

There will probably be other suggestions.  I'm not claiming to be any kind of expert,  but maybe try searching online re: dism.exe before running Smiley

Good luck!

Although this is probably mentioned a couple of times each year...  Smiley

UK clocks change overnight tonight, moving forward 1 hour.
(Last Sunday in March & October).

I've set UKGPL11 running with Goodwd65 & Boreham for some CANAM66/Advanced Trainer testing.
Please advise if there are any issues.

With my ancient machine, I did have low FPS on the last section from Woodcote to the chicane.  However, using a trick which seemed to help a bit for me at Bulawayo recently, I adjusted my mirror details view from "full" to "cars & track".
Additionally for good measure - also removed "object textures" from M/mirror view too.  Seems much happier there now (with an empty track).

So IF anyone else also has similar drastic FPS drops in that section, maybe try similar...

Unlucky Matt.  From your pre-race times, I knew I'd be unable to keep up with you.
I just tried to drive safely/take few risks in case something happened ahead.

Initially, I just tried to hang onto the back of you & was relieved when you helped me break away a little from the chasing cars.

but the sheer busyness of Ingliston --- how you get "Inglestone" out of that escapes me, and I'm a native speaker of English

Thanks for stepping in and providing a server Dave

No worries. Hopefully everything was stable with both servers hosted from here.
I've tuned into Dimitar's Twitch stream & his replay seems ok.
