Well, my 1st experience with running two races in a row between F1Legends and UKGPL doesn't look too good. I had 15 minutes left to practice with the Brabham after racing with the Lotus at Zandvoort. I had braking problems and couldn't fix them in time to get a decent lap time but being last on the grid when you have limited ambitions has its own charm, right ? I still managed to be surprised when I got into the loop and hit the car that was before me. Sorry for being such a nuisance. I'm willing to pay for my mistakes but nobody else should have to share the bill. From now on, I'll stick to one race per day.

Very short race for me too. A power glitch hit my PC just after the start. I have a UPS but since it is hidden under my table, I never noticed the "battery's dead, buddy" light. If it can be a reminder for someone in the group .... Thanks for fixing the server. I am glad the race went OK later on.

I am often skiing in Les Rousses (Jura) at the boundary with Switzerland Souvenirs souvenirs .... I was a dragoon near Besançon an we were skiing once in a while at Les Rousses with army equipment (leather boots and aluminum skis - terrible). In order to improve the relations with the station's mayor who was pissed off with having too much military staff on the slopes, we were wearing random colour anoraks but with our short hair (in the 70s) and our own ambulance in the parking lot, nobody was fooled .

Whereas we GPLers recognize it as a tricky b@stard.... especially that bloody hairpin with the gorilla sized polos Don't forget the big plexiglas door just before the hairpin (on the left hand side for the lucky ones who have not noticed yet) . Talk to my Cooper about it. Poor little thing ...

There are days like that. I'm used to start races with 2 cars per-line grids. I never thought there was someone on my left. I was a bit upset because I thought I was taking the ditch because of someone's lack of patience. Then, still watching Pribluda when I entered V4, I missed it, of course. I kept going because I still had my shift-R in the glove box but so did most people, right ?
A soon as I completed the "race", I watched the replay to find out out what happened at the start. It was quite different from what I was expecting: I was 100% responsible for the accident ! Not realizing there was a car on my left, I moved progressively to the left to prepare V1 and I pushed F. Locarno out of the track. I'm truly sorry for the accident and for not waiting, I didn't even know who was involved.

Take a look at the race report Pierre - top of the climbers list. Way more interesting than these pole to flag leaders who do the last sector in 19.39... Grin Paul, your solicitude is equaled only by your sense of humour. It's true that we both gained 5 positions but my French cartisianism tells me that moving from 16 to 11 is not quite the same as moving from 11 to 6. Anyway, it gives me chance to express my admiration and reinforces my determination to kick your butt in Zolder soon someday ....

I had a communication problem and connected to the server 2 minutes before the start of the race. I started last, a tiny little bit pissed off about the damn thing. I was aware that I had to calm down before attacking anybody to improve my position. I followed Diego for some time and when, finally, I passed him, I was more than 15 seconds behind the group. Obviously, being pissed off doesn't make me faster ! Overall, even if I was lapped twice, I am quite satisfied with the fact that I managed to remain focused . I kept my car on the track lap after lap and didn't use my shift-R. I won't get my picture in the Hall of Fame for this race (or any other race for that matter) so what ? It's a wonderful world .

Seriously, I am very happy with my race. I was surprised that it took so long for you guys to catch up with me. Hendy and yourself are the only ones who passed me. I see that many drivers in this league love the Ring. I love it too . My first contact with it was Neubauer's book when I was a kid. Somehow the circuit likes me, too. Year after year, that's where I get my best races.

The action started for me about 15mn before the beginning of the practice when GPL refused to load. I jumped on my 60fps install, switched it to 36, transferred my setup and here I come to qualify . I got disconnected before the Adenau bridge and I would not have bet a cent - sorry, a penny - on my chances to finish the race. It was the only unpleasant event of this evening ! Well, in fact, you might add being passed by Badblood at the end of the very last lap but the guy has no class, he keeps doing the same thing to me on a regular basis as if I would care . No sir, I'm quite able to keep my "Poutine at the Olympics face" like a big boy !
Paul, between us,could you please find a way to finish a race without putting so much pressure on my delicate and overall nice person ?

I've had this occur in the past - a black screen or loss of sound - and was caused by my forgetting to tweak the power saving settings after re-installing Windows. This might be worth checking. I had some initial difficulty joining the race via Multiplayer probably due to the numbers logging on. I wonder what has caused this welcome resurgence of interest in GPL. It might soon be necessary to resurrect the old Clubman division! You are right on both matters, Michael ! - I removed My UPS before Christmas - the battery was dead - and I guess the software reset the Windows parameters when I uninstalled it . I was back to 15mn for the display with the PC plugged in. Thanks a lot. - The resurgence of GPL is a fact. Over here, in Québec, the old gang of the defunct QGPL has restarted weekly meetings and as far as the F1Legends league is concerned, we're getting messages every week from people who quit years ago. Long live GPL !
