Season 38 – 1967 F1 PRIVATEERS – Round 3 – Interlagos
For the 3rd round we are going to Interlagos (Brazil). Autódromo José Carlos Pace, also known as Interlagos, is in the city of São Paulo, in the neighborhood of Interlagos. It is named after Brazilian Formula One driver Carlos Pace, who died in a plane crash in 1977. It has hosted the Formula One Brazilian Grand Prix since 1973. That first race was won by defending Formula One World Champion and São Paulo local Emerson Fittipaldi. Fittipaldi won the race again the following year in bad weather and Brazilian driver José Carlos Pace won his only race at Interlagos in 1975.

Bad luck Andy, I think Dan was disco'd at the same time. I lost connection too. But mine was between the tyres and the tarmac Looking at the replay, Dan went off track and slid off the edge of Nurbyworld. He escaped to the pits for a while. Exactly when he exited the server was when I suffered the disco. There's a glitch at that time on the replay, easily seen when rewinding from 500 to 495 in any car. Maybe this is how mass disco's happen. One car inadvertently triggers a glitch and one or more cars lose their connection too. Shame, I was looking forward to finishing 5th here

Season 38 MIXED OPEN WHEEL – Round 2 – Killarney
For this round the MixOW entrants will drive the 1966 F1 cars at Killarney, a track recreated for GPL by UKGPL's own Francesco Molteni. This track is still in use on the outskirts of Cape Town, South Africa. It first saw F1 cars racing in 1960, when a mixed field was beaten by the two F1 Porsche 718s driven by Stirling Moss and Jo Bonnier. In 1962, Killarney held a non championship F1 race called the Cape Grand Prix. After swapping the lead many times, Trevor Taylor beat Jim Clark over the line in their Lotus 21s. Strong winds blew sand onto the track and several engines were damaged. F1 racing never returned.
This is the second race in the Mixed Open Wheel series in which we will be using cars from 1965, 1966, 1967 (F2), 1968 and 1969. Drivers entering this series must select a manufacturer group & keep to that group for the whole season. Where more than one chassis is allocated to the group you can select any car. Pro / Works standard drivers cannot use Groups 7, 8 or 9.
Full Driver lists and divisional rules including manufacturer groups can be found here Championship Standings page

As for the pedal set. If you think it will still work with current Windows, it would make a great setup with the CSR. Does it connect with USB or something?
I use BRD Speed7's with Win10 no problem. AC, GTL recognise them. Win10 knows what it is, no drivers. Connection is via USB, I think it's called USB A to USB B, like a printer cable. I use them as a second controller with my G27 wheel. Unfortunately, I have the 2 pedal version - no clutch (although there is space for one) - so AC is very difficult with a shifter. I'd love a clutch now, but BRD went out of business and I haven't found spares.

Season 38 1965F1 – Round 2 – Privateers - Cadwell Park
Cadwell Park is a much loved racing circuit in Lincolnshire in Eastern England. In 1926 Mr. Mansfield Wilkinson bought a part of the old Cadwell Hall country estate adjacent to his farm. His sons, Charles and Christopher, started to race each other around the gravel drives on their motorbikes. The track was improved, widened and lengthened over the years to become what it is today. The names of the Wilkinsons live on in the names of some corners. The track is used more for motorbike racing rather than modern high powered car racing, because of its narrowness and lack of run off areas in places.

Hi Mike, welcome to UKGPL. If you are Mike Beattie, then welcome back! You'd fit right into the Pro's with your old pace. If you'd rather start in the Ams, that's ok, but we might have to move you up if you find your old speed.
Not so many rules in the 65's this season, but you need to run with the 60fps patch in this league nowadays.

Season 38 – 1967 F1 PRIVATEERS – Round 2 – Montjuich Park
For the 2nd round we go to Montjuich Hill near Barcelona. A twisty, tricky, street circuit, it was the site of the tragic 1975 Spanish Grand Prix. Many drivers felt that the circuit was unsafe, and two time world champion Emerson Fittipaldi withdrew in protest before the start of the race. On lap 26 the Embassy Hill-Lola car of Rolf Stommelen left the track, killing five people. The race was subsequently stopped at half distance and half points awarded, with Jochen Mass being recorded as the winner. Lella Lombardi became the first female driver to score world championship points, taking 0.5 points for 6th place. Formula One never returned to the circuit after the accident.

Season 38 MIXED OPEN WHEEL – Round 1 – Goodwood '65
Goodwood has never held a Formula One Championship race, but regularly held a non championship F1 race called the Glover Trophy (also known as the Richmond Trophy). When the cars were becoming too dangerously fast, the track owners decided to stop racing rather than add chicanes to slow the cars. The last Glover Trophy (before its more recent appearance in the Goodwood Revival meetings) was in 1965. This was won by Jim Clark in a Lotus 33. He shared the lap record from that race with Jackie Stewart in a BRM of 1 minute 20.4 seconds. Previous winners of the Glover Trophy included racing royalty of the time - Stirling Moss, John Surtees, Mike Hawthorn, Graham Hill and Innes Ireland (twice).
This is the first race in the Mixed Open Wheel series in which we will be using cars from 1965, 1966, 1967 (F2), 1968 and 1969. Drivers entering this series must select a manufacturer group & keep to that group for the whole season. Where more than one chassis is allocated to the group you can select any car. Season 38 1965F1 – Round 1 – Oulton Park
Season 38 starts at Oulton Park, which is about 30 miles south east of Liverpool and about 30 miles south west of Manchester. This track has never hosted a championship F1 race, but hosted non-championship F1 races most years from the mid-1950s until the early 1970s. Unfortunately, there wasn't an F1 race here in 1965, so there isn't a race to compare with our efforts. Jack Brabham won it in 1966 and 1967. Jim Clark won it in 1962 and 1963. Stirling Moss had the last of his five F1 wins at Oulton Park in 1961. This was notable because it was his last F1 win in Europe. His car that day was also notable as this was the only time that a four wheel drive car won an F1 race. The Ferguson-Climax P99 was a collaboration between two companies possibly better known for tractor manufacture and forklift manufacture.
