Sorry I missed this one guys.  My wife was cleared for a car trip so we took a long weekend and drove to Colorado to visit family.  Friday weather was great but the rest of the weekend was terrible with fog, drizzle and low clouds. Young people went up the mountains and did some snow boarding but us oldies stayed down.
See you all at Thrustron .........Oh yes if you didn't get enough of this track the GC-Muscle car guys are racing there Saturday.  One hour race with a pit stop.....

OOPS: Messes up, it's Limerock this Saturday, Mid Ohio is May 16th!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to drive the Mazda on this track but never could figure out how to keep the rear behind the front in the twisties and humpty bumps.  Then tried the BMW and it was better but still sorta unstable and not as quick.  Finally settled on the 911, top time of 177 something in race trim and fuel.  Ran a 30 lapper with the AI and times were mostly 139-141's with a couple of 138's.  Three spins in thirty laps, gotta control the adrenilan as if I push it too hard it will go around in T1 or chicane.  Tony is right about the touchy cut's on T1, if you get too close to the gold kerb it will trigger a cut, don't even have to make contact!!!  Should be a good race, hope we get a good field number.  See you at the track

Good fun and a unreal finish for me.  The Dodge made it to the end in good shape except for the tires went away about L9.  The first half of the race Steve and I played the rubber band game.  I could pull away from the Jav. on the long straights and he would run me down through the S's and the hard right turn.  The RT is a drag car and not a road racer, comes out of the corners like crazy and flies down the straights, but no brakes or cornering ability at least for me.  Then Jose came into my mirror and we did the same thing for a few laps and he got past me after a mistake by me, only a matter of time anyway.  Then Flash came into my mirror after his spin at the hard right and he bumped me because I was braking so early going into the S's.  No problem Bud!!!  He waited and the after about a lap he blew by me like Flash always does.  The last few laps Erling was in my mirror but I think both of us had bad tires and I held him off or he just followed to get it over with.
Good fun but this track has always had the cut problems, just gotta deal with it...
Next week in the TVR and Lotus I'm sure I will be 15th instead of 5th.  See you there........

Fun race for me and a surprisingly  decent finish with these cars.  Nothing like it over on GC.  I am the guilty one that stuck my nose into Doni's car at the hairpin.  Waited for him to go bye and ended up at the back.. Wrote a sorry PM after the race.  Slowly crawled back from the back passing a few on the track but most were people that went off to the ditch.  Worked out a good set-up for the Merc, that was fairly fast but mostly real stable for me.   Was wanting to drive the Healey, but it doesn't have the speed on the long straights like the Merc.
BTW were can I find the complete season schedule of tracks and cars that we are going to use? It takes this old guy a while to learn new tracks.  Looking forward to next weeks muscle cars race at Sebring, havent raced on that old track version for a number of years.  GC-MCL always uses the modern layout.  Think I will go MOPAR with the RT or the Cuda, haven't driven them for quite a while....

Thanks for the fun

Good fun time for me.  First race was pretty non-eventful for me just did my usual thing of driving the track and  avoided other people's mishaps. Finished around my normal position at the back.  Second race I made a big mistake and started messing with the brake bias.  Should have left well enough alone.   Got the 914 really crossed up going down the hill into T1 and almost took out someone else in mid corner.  Sorry about that.   Hit the wall and screwed up the suspension badly.  Decided to limp back to the pits and put the crew to work on the repair.  Lost a couple of laps, but finished anyway........In last place of course.  Good fun anyway, your format is a learning experience for us GC guys but a challenge is good.  Going to try to twist the arms of a couple of other guys over there and try to get them to join in......Next week is the "Old Crocks" that should be really a challenge.   Thanks for the races!!!!

Just a "heads up" on this track from past races.  It suffers from a fuel bug, you need to add 40-50% more fuel than the garage suggests.  For the 12 laps I am going with 17-18 laps to be on the safe side, if I get a chance to compete.....hopefully.

Watched the replay, great racing guys, wish I could have joined you.  Grats to the podium and to all.  Tough track for the big iron.  Wife is progressing in therapy but they say it will be a long grind.  Have been doing a little driving on the Memorial track to learn it. Better be back for that one I hope.  That is one weird track, has everything in one little bundle!

Have fun Oldgeezer///Bob M.

Well it looks like my racing career is on hold after only one race.  My wife had a fall Friday and injured her knee badly.  Fractured a bone just below the joint, will be imoblized and no weight put on it for some time.  Haven't got the therapy schedule yet but I'm sure that it will take up a lot of time daily according to sources and then after the fracture is healed she may need a replacement unit.
Will keep my eye on the site and watch the replays if possible so put on a good show!!!!

Thanks for the fun

Hello Guys:
Good fun for me, bad results but fun anyway.  Grats to the podium watched you all blow by me two times!!!   Had cut problems with the track, had 4.  3 of them were going to the grass on exit of corners to avoid a spinner.  One was on me exiting the S's and got into the grass.  First penalty was quick and painless, second time I guess I was too close to the pit man and the clipboard wouldn't come up, took a couple of back and forthes to trigger it up.  Also had one accident, T-Boned a 240Z I think it was.  Coming down the S/F hill, popped over the hill and their he was crossways on the track.  No time to react, Sorry to whoever it was, must be tough cars as everything was OK and it was a good solid hit...As I said "good fun" and will be back next week.  Will drive the Austin as I have a good set up from a NoGrip race from a couple of months ago.  Hope the drivers that had problems can get it fixed...

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.  I have a tree flashing problem also, but it clears up after a lap of running.  Will check my video setting and tinker a little bit with it.  We raced Muscle/TA cars on this track at GC and I remember the same thing then.  It's a great MC track, so nice and wide, but the last down hill turn can really bite you in the big iron....Will attempt to drive the Datson as it seems the most balanced and easy to set up.

Update:
Did as you guys suggested plus turned down  the distance draw thing one click and all is well,Thx

Hello all:
If all goes well in my world I hope to join you Monday and in the future.  I am a old guy from Iowa/USA and retired so the race time hits me in mid afternoon which is good.  I have raced online for several years and have raced with some of you in the GC races.   Also race some at Nogrip WNR GTL races.  Your series will be a big challenge for me as at GC we race basically the same cars week after week.  On a good day I finish in the middle of the field and have a bunch of last place trophies on the mantle also......I am mostly a "race the track kind of guy" so if you are faster than me I will move over and let anyone by.  All in fun for me!!!
My track name is "oldgeezer" so see you at the races..........
