Everything Else / Chit Chat / Re: Recommendations for new pedals?

I run the Clubsport V2 pedals and can highly recommend them. On my computer desk I have a ledge on to which the pedals are fixed by a couple of G clamps so I can't offer advice on carpet grip. I've also had to do a fair bit of work on the brake pedal to get a good feeling (basically stronger spring than supplied - available at all good RC model shops for practically nowt).
I do have a set of G27 pedals with very little use on them, Leo Bodnar cable (higher resolution) and brake spring mod. I might be tempted to let them go, pm me if you're interested.

Hi folks, Happy New Year etc..... Hoping to be back in the cockpit this year and mixing it with you guys. @Spanner. There's this thread at the AC forums http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/calibrating-your-force-feedback-wheel-using-wheelcheck-and-ffbclip.14319/ which uses a couple of apps to help you get your ffb sorted out so that it uses a linear ffb reaction and also to set the correct force to prevent clipping. It's a long read and, like all threads at the AC forums, is muddled up with a far bit of carp but just reading through it should give you some good ideas where to get set up with your particular wheel. I'm using a G27 so I have 107% set in the profiler (I do this instead of using the min force option that's now incorporated to take out the numb centre feel with the G27) and 100% set in the In Game Menu and then run anywhere between 55 and 85 % in the car setup options depending on the car I'm driving. The clipping meter on the pedal app rarely gets above 70-75%. I run next to no damping as I don't perceive any difference irrespective of where I set this and I run 0 on all of the "added" effects (kerbs etc..). Over the festive period I've been hammering around Spa in the 787B which is a truly amazing piece of work imho, hopefully we'll get a race organised in these some time.

That was huge fun Apologies to Chris T on Lap 1, misjudged braking and hit you, my fault. After that I tootled round on the grass to get back on and then Erik t-boned me reversing back on. No worries Erik. I let Erik past on the straight thinking it might be a good idea to chase him and catch up the pack as I was dead last at that point. Turned out to be a good plan as, although I lost sight of Erik I got everyone else in view and started making my way up. Had some good racing with Paul and managed to get through the later accident wondering what had happened there and come out 4th and on the tail of Chris T but couldn't quite catch him over the last 5 laps. Thoroughly enjoyed the chase though. Great night.

Miserable night for me.
First time back on track for a few weeks. Didn't bother with quali, just used the time to run on race fuel and tweak the setup a touch. Got off the line ok and made a few places as early incidents took their toll. Went from 12th or so to 7th at the end of Lap 1. Saw Shark and Spanner having their incident in the fast chicane after S/F and thought " Oooh - another two places gained" but as I approached the next RHander I was starting to back off as I wasn't sure where Sharks car was going and ended up having to make a nasty correction to avoid thumping him just as I leant on the brake pedal. My car veered left straight into the wall which destroyed the front LH side, steering was at a silly angle and the car wouldn't turn right. No worries about the coming together Mark B, my car was finished anyway. There was no point trying to get back to the pits so I bailed.
Hoping for better luck next time.

Hope you guys mean 1:24/1:25 I had a run out on the server last night, but I'm only getting down to 1:27's. Not been using AC for a while, but having a run around Goodwood in the Cobra brought a huge smile to my face. I'm hoping to make a comeback on Weds night, work is still hell at the moment but the run out last night has got me fired up and also had me chatting to the boss about a few changes in priorities I was even "toying" with the kerbs in T1 last night Hopefully the boss will take pity on me and I'll be there on Weds night.

Thanks a bunch to whoever it was that doesn't understand what a rolling start entails. Punted up the back end, shattered windscreen and nearly pushed into the car in front. Managed to complete all of about 50 yards of the formation lap. Not happy You didn't miss me Johnny , bend rear bumper and cracked windscreen for me. Thought at going in the pits first, but the car behaved on the formation lap reasonably well, so kept it going. Very annoying how fast the windscreen cracks with a rear hit Sorry, you're right Erik... tbh I was in a mega rage, which usually ends up in a few choice words and a monster rant. I've been out of the "chair" for a few weeks with work and other stuff going on. I was looking forward to getting back in the chair last night, especially at Spa. Hadn't had much time to practice and was pleasantly surprised at my quali. Then it all went pear-shaped. Lessons learnt all around. No hard feelings Bob.

I'm hoping to be back on track for this one or for the mixed class race the week after.
Have been distracted by Alien: Isolation and been waiting for a new damper for the Clubsport V2 pedals (Found a similar part at a RC model shop with slightly less throw, a selection of springs and some slightly thicker damper oil). The brakes now feel like there's a decent "weight" and "feel" to them, just need to get some practice in.
Practice session pencilled in after the Clarets get their first win of the season against Everton today..... maybe
